    Vegas Movie Studio 9.0

    please let me know how!

  • I recently downloaded a free piece of software from the internet called Wax 2.0. It's not a demo version, and will continue to keep working. It has a chroma-key function and works quite well. There are various tutorials on YouTube explaining how to use some of the other functions of Wax 2.0

you can get it at Best Buy for less than 50 bucks

Also, another good one is Adobe Premiere Elements 7, but this one is $100

  • @bloodybonecrusher After Effects with the keylight plugin?

  • what program do you use for your blue screen?

  • You can use Blender, but its really not easy!!

  • @isaacmiller1993

Well I would use AE or Vegas for best keyers.

  • How about rolling content on the screen?

  • Brilliant

  • I have tried everything except the white balance! I will try that next and let you know how it goes. Christ, I thought a 3ccd expensive camera was necessary, but I'll try this 1st. Thanks. Great tutorial!

  • what do you mean Sensitive ?

  • what is the diffrence from bluescreen and greenscreen?

  • blue is a little bit more sensitive.

  • okay thx man

  • @jack37666 nothing

  • @jack37666 THE COLOR

  • @jack37666 there is no significant difference, actually you could use it with every color you want but for computers the green background works the best

just make sure you light the screen up even and don't create any shadows or wrinkles

  • @jack37666 its nothing only if you have a green shirt on you will use a blue screen you can use all colours as a screen but blue and green are orginal

  • @jack37666 nothing just that if you want to wear green than obviously you need a blue screen and like wise the other way around

  • @jack37666 Their different colours... Duh?

  • Hey Thank you very much! I think Im gonne try it soon! Thanks!

  • That was realy good

  • Good tips!!!!!!!

    Thanks man!!!!!!!

  • Thank you I have no idea how to do it, but I want a go. I appreciate it. *****

  • thank you...good tip

  • Thank 4 tha vid , good points on the mics .

and a HD cam that uses sd memory would probly be better than disk or tape cams.

  • Good tips.

  • I am new at this and still in the learning stages. These vid's help much...thank you ! I just purchased a Green Screen (chromakey), and would like to know if there is any reason to use one (blue/green) rather that another.

  • theres no difference in useing blue or green when ur useing moviemaker, but u have to have the same contrast all over the screen.

  • Drum :)

they use green and blue because they are the ferthist away from your skin color to you skin and th chroma key do not clash :))

  • That is a great tutorial video!

    Thank you StuEvo!

  • thanks

  • good tutorial. THX

  • how do u do this with after effects

  • i will do a video on it so subscribe and get others to subscribe then you will be entered into a prize draw (i'll get on it straight away)

  • i just watched a video it took me about 30 seconds to know how to do this

  • thx, but were can we find the softwares for changing our backgrounds?

  • very good tutorial.

what I wish to know is this, how does BLUEscreen differ from GREENscreen ?

  • its the same thing, just a different color

  • greenscreen is much lighter so the quality would be better

  • My bedroom wall is a light (sky) blue. would it work?

  • I would use a true blue or true green

  • don't worry it i'll work

  • OF DEATH!!!!! (blue screen -.-)

  • If I was to put a light right in front of the screen(behind me) but below the view of the camera, would that solve the shadow problem effectively and allow me to be closer to the screen?

  • wats the differnce of a blue screen and a green screen?..

  • there is no difference. Green scrren is just a green screen and blue screen is blue. With fx home visionlab studio you can use anycomour in the as the background. However blue and green are default colours and in most programs i.e Sony Vegas only have blue and green screen

  • would anyone know why my computer pretty much freezes whenever i try to edit tor view a video?

  • how do you create the head blown off effect with adobe aE.... im a beginner and didnt even know this was possible with the programs i had installed....

  • the green screen is more reflectice, too

  • Very helpful! Thanks!

  • they're different colors you use them when for example, you have somebody wearing something blue in the pic and u need a different color

  • blue is blue and green is green

  • well tbh a green screen is used in most proffesional videos but a blue screen has a better chroma as the lighting shows up better. A green screen is best used with photos. :D

  • one is blue and one is green

  • This is very helpful, I didn't know what to do with my bluescreen, it just didn't seem to work right, this really helps. Are you using Windows Movie Maker?

  • i pretty sure windows movie make doesn't have green/blue scrren u need adobe premiere elements of sony vegas but there are others out there

  • there actually is a way to do it with Windows Movie Maker. there are programs for it.

just google "Windows Movie Maker green screen"

    it should work

  • yeha i found that out after i posted this comment but it's a hassle so i got Adobe premiere elements 4

  • Hello. You really intelligent! What can i use for programmes?

  • Where can I buy a towel to that color at the lowest possible cost?

  • I got a sheet at a fabric store--couple bucks per yard.

  • i wonder if u can also have a vido instead of a picture as a background? and can u do this in aftereffects?

  • Yes and Yes. See my other videos, thanks.

  • yr voice is like a lullaby lol

  • tutorial on how to edit your video to get the winter background as ur bluescreen

  • nice accent

  • sorry but where's your program??

  • Really nice tutorial!

I was just thinking about "How could I make this effect work correctly?"

I always tried to do this, but my mistake was in the lights.

    Congrtulations, man!

  • Where can I get one of those mics? Private message me this pls cas i've made so it don't notify me when i have replys cas my inbox was full xD

  • Great video - a great point about the white balance - so often missed by other tutorials

  • Thanks, am getting a blue-screen. Very helpful!

  • not trying to be offensive but your posture and you sound slightly like Russell Brand :P

  • Thanx, gd 1

  • nice one, some good tips.

  • can't you just have a light behind you to get rid of the shadow? :P

  • Yeah, but then you'd have a light in the middle of the blue screen, and if you manage to get past that, you'll have light shining into the camera, and if you manage to get past that, there'll be a shadow of the light.

  • ture, true :P

  • ummm.... No, Scarperguy... I wouldn't say that's entirely true... To ItsNicoTime... that's exactly what you do... Have lights (off camera) angled toward the blue screen but not hitting the subject or the camera. Have other lights lighting the subject. About 4-8 lights required and play with them to get even spread to reduce shadowing.

  • Nice thanks!

  • Good stuff. Thanks for this, dude!

  • I never thought of adjusting the white balance!

  • whenever and whatever you shoot on video you should adjust the white balance in order to achieve the corect (or desired) reproduction of colors. it's more recomended to keep the white surface (in this clip the man uses a white paper, but it can actually be anything else that's white and clean) away from the lense and zoom on it till it fills the frame. important is to position the white surface in such way to be lighten by the light in which you're going to shoot

  • I agree completely with rampel. You need to white balance with something in the position where you are filming, to get accurate balance of colors. This will not happen if you just put something white right up close to the lens.

  • Where can you get blue/greenscreen programmes on your computer? Preferably for free?

  • I can't believe you didn't re-record this when you watched it back and heard the ridiculous noise you made with the mic.

You didn't mention how you positioned your lamps.

Soft lamp position (60deg. from camera), key light position (60deg. from camera) and, the all important back light. Good tips for those starting out.

  • shut up, make ure own vid and then comment.

  • Mate, I work for a TV Company.

I must say, you've got a good ShowReel! I particulary like 'Where's Lyn'. That definitely gives you the authority to dis my comment!

  • What software do you use to change the background?

    Can the background be moving?

  • Yes you can put video or pics in the background - i use Sony Vegas.

  • Stu can you message me after you've put it on ebay? Id really like to buy.. if of course its a reasonable price

  • nice work mate, thanks for sharing. Cheers

  • Interesting. :P

  • Very helpful except of course those flowers didn't look very real - why would your character be standing in field talking to camera?. If you were REALLY outside you would sound different too!

  • Its just an example mate - a royalty free image.

  • Well done mate - good and helpful stuff!

  • Hey where did you get this bluescreen from?

  • I have a spare one if someones interested? Perhaps i'll put it on ebay? :D

  • Yes please :)

    Ill bid :)

I really need one, btw great tutorial

  • How much mate?

  • wot a ledgend

  • Nice work. Really helpful. 5 stars from me

  • very good learnt alot

  • Great Tutorial. Im quite lucky because my living room has blue walls but unlucky because I have no camera. I am going to buy one very soon and remember this tutorial. Thanks m8!

  • yes blad

  • i dont get u man wat camara do u use ?

  • thx for the good advice

  • just a tip, dont hold your white card up to the camera like he says, hold it right infront of you and zoom into it to take the white reading. The reason for this is that your camera needs to 'read' the colour temperature of your main source of light, which is pointing at you. If you hold it where he shows all you will get is the ambient room lighting.

  • This is true and correct - although we covered this earlier in the comments - but thank you! :-)

  • WOW

  • Cool im doing 1 to.

  • you need a sound tutorial!

  • Come on man!! Compared to the average home video it's fair advice (most people wouldn't spend hundreds on an ECM77b mic :p )

  • wasome tutorial man thx a lot!

  • Very helpful thanks

  • hey thanks alot this is very helpful, im about to start a film ad tv production degree at university so if u have any other useful tips like this i look forward to seeing them, also if you have chance to look at my channel theres an 8 minute long video called how to save a life, ive used a green screen in it and the person i stood infront of it ended up with a green tinge to him, why was that?

  • This happened to me on a couple of my claymations, I think it has something to do with the white balance setting that he talked about. If it's set to automatic then the camera will assume that another colour is true white and that may mess up other colours in the shot, which may cause the subtle reflection of green from the screen onto the person to be worse.

  • i was a amateur once!!!

  • Great vid! does anyone know anywhere where i can get some free bluescreen software?
