In Dave's book, he states that this album, (and Risk) probably alienated a lot of true Megadeth fans, by being less thrash, and more pop.

But I really, really, like this album. It's good to expand the style of music you play, I believe, but I don't like it when bands completely destroy their rep with fans by leaving behind their original musicianship forever. *cough Metallica cough*

So, I've only heard couple of songs from Rust In Peace, and I can truly say they didn't blew my mind like the mid-late 90's stuff. But I love 'So Far, So Good..' It's fucking amazing.

This album gets shit on a lot. I am going to get this one for sure. The original sounds way better though. After comparing the original and remaster. I noticed that the remaster sounds thin and does not have the loudness and dynamics that the original has. I would get the original CD or vinyl record of this album. Just my two cents.
