What about all the times cops have shown up where they're not needed and caused more harm than good? Or shown up when they are needed and still cause more harm? Such as in the famous(and pretty typical) case of Jeffrey Dahmer convincing two cops his escaped victim was his boyfriend.
And lastly cops don't always come. Read about Medgar Evers' assassination. He was shot in front of a squad car that didn't even help escort his wife to the ambulance as she drove with her dying husband in the backseat, let alone help tend to his wounds. There are literally thousands of videos of cops watching their co-workers commit crimes and refusing to do anything about it. And they ALWAYS protect the GOVERNMENT. But you wouldn't know this.. you aren't a cop.

He followed protocol and was injured in the process. The act of retaliation from those men to me proves that they probably weren't safe to be driving at the moment anyway.
