please forgive my ignorance / stupidity but how does this guy play the guitar without plucking the strings .? I love the music ,but I can't play a bloodty note .I'm not an instrumentalist at all so as I say please forgive my ignorance .

@mazhammer There is no stupidity in asking when you don't know. My english is too bad too explain, but basically, the sound is produced by the finger hitting (like a hammer) the fingerboard of the guitar between two frets, and that make the string vibrate and produce the sound. It's called "tapping". For a example of this technic, you can check out on wiki. You can looking for Carlos Vamos - Little Wing on youtube too, he's very good at it.

For those tapping parts, the guitar's gain is (obviously) much higher than it normally would be, so when you're not playing anything it screams and honks like a demented wilderbeast, unless you have the volume rolled off. (Cubase was muting the guitar for me at the right times.)

Also a decent bit of volume from the guitar amp (headphones won't do it) gets the 'air moving' around the strings, and this resonance helps them sustain.

Its noisy as! Your neighbours are going to love it!

well, I know that sometimes random music shops have them, but usually not because Keytars are very old school. You can check on Roland's website or Yamaha's to search for shops that might supply them. Apparently, some Guitar Center's have the Yamaha KX5, which is what I'm looking for... Other than that, There are keytars on ebay all the time.
