  • How are there only 10 dislikes? Honestly... this video is shit and so is his guitar playing!

  • @tjtrail Real ahole pal!

  • @MrStratman1952 Go back to 'Nam, any value you ever saw in life obviously ended there

  • This is SO DAMN COOL. Seeing the Master (Jeff) in the process of his Excellence. God I love this track

  • Is this clip on the actual Red White & Blues DVD?

  • He's a great guitaritst, but I will take Rory Gallagher anyday.

  • God needed someone to play the guitar. So he created the idea of Jeff Beck

  • Beck is amazing. Jon Cleary looks pretty amazed, and that's saying a lot given how fine a keyboard player he is.

  • Whats the name of the full song?

  • @m3ntalcollid3r nadia

  • Jon Cleary (pianist) finds out he's the pretender when confronted with the contender.

  • man oh man he has the touch on guitar

  • man oh man he has the touch on guitar

  • Mark Mondesir on drums ?

  • I could watch this all day! :) Is there more of this session wherever it came from?

  • The drumer knew exactly what Beck wanted for a beat. Cool to see them working out the great song Nadia.

  • for those who would like to play like JB, i mean same sound: forget about the pick! Pick with your fingers!!! You need to feel the sound being born under your fingertips! I'm pretty sure JB have a great sound even on an unplugged smashed string-lacking shitty guitar.

  • Tune?

  • @nassreiskulturen "Nadia"

  • @tylerherbs Thank you very much. I never really liked his stuff, but I suppose that might change now.

  • Beck is the best sound of the world!

    1-Hendrix 2-Jeff Beck 3-Eric Clapton 4-Jimmy Page 5 Santana 6-Gilmour 7-Van Halen 8-Frank Zappa 9-Benson 10-Michael Landau 11-Lukather 12-Larry Carlton 1-Steve Ray. These are part of a select group of angels guitar.

  • @musinelli Rory Gallagher is miles better than Clapton & Page. Even Hendrix when once asked what does it feel like to be the best guitar player, replied i don"t know you"ll have to ask Rory!

  • @dan32113 That story with Hendrix is a myth. There are also versions in which he says it about Phil Keaggy or Clapton.

  • @dan32113 ' miles better ' huh ? Doesnt that depend on what one likes to hear ? As soon as you leave a comment like that , your credibility is gone .' Van Gogh is 'miles better than Picasso ! That depends on what one likes to look at . Art is not a contest

  • @musinelli ps i forgot to mention Duane Allman a great slide player!

  • Something nearly what I'd imagine Hendrix doing these days, only if...

  • Beck always expanded his abilities while clapton stayed put !

  • @ronnied828 You can write down Mr Pages name on the list of "stay put" guitarists...

  • @ronnied828 well said! icam..

  • Fucking hell. One note from Beck = 8 thousand million notes from every other fucker. The guy is just an amazing guitar player. Takes a real guitarist who can play one note and take you somewhere. Not some jerkoff playing a million arpeggios, trying to have a cock off against everyone!

  • best video on utube

  • I love this song called "Nadia". I just never saw how it was produced...

  • I was a big Beck fan in the 80s and I lost touch, because of Youtube I found him again and the man seems to have gotten better and better. How is this possible? It's unheard of! It's also inspiring too.

  • Like to see more stuff like this

  • Lots of great comments on this one.......must say been a fan for years but never realised what hewa all about until I caught him live last year....I have been playing guitar for a while and it still leaves me awestruck in how he uses his technique to the max and gets some great sounds from the way he plays....he really is a great guitarist and he also proves that it's not all about how fast you can play......some of the best guitar players don't need to!

  • Fantastic!

  • who's that drummer?

  • @jwhitley3 Mark Mondesir

  • FUCK! that was sweet

jeffs face when the drummer came in made me jizz

    inspiring

  • @joemosss I did too! And I'm a chick!

  • fuckin beautiful

  • I've tried both steel & glass slide bottle to play Nadia. Glass has less harmonics and more of sucking onto strings type of a feel. It's just a matter of feel. Sound wise, they don't produce that obvious difference.

  • @MickCorgi you might like to try ceramic too.

  • Phantastic!

  • JEFF BECK is way beyond the average persons concept of a guitarist .... what I like are the expressions on these peoples faces when they first see him play and how Jeff really expresses his thoughts and feelings through his guitar like no one else in our solar system

    Thank you Jeff

  • Agreed...couldn't have stated it better! Cheers!

  • Very Cool..thats John Cleary ,Bonnie Raitt's keyboard player, a great vocalist as well...

  • Jeff Beck is simply a different musical genius, the strat was made for him. Leo must be proud in heaven.

  • JEFF BEST!!!!!!!

  • Truly the best improvisational electric guitarist ever.

  • Thanks for reposting, been up before but they took it down. Master at work

  • que jefe beck!!!

    maravilloso!

  • This is PRICELESS. I've always loved this piece, and I've always wanted to see Beck rehearse, if only to confirm that he can extort those amazing sounds from his guitar at will even in a practice setting (which, on the evidence above, it appears that he can). He really is irreplaceable.

  • @Kirok You are right, he is irreplaceable. He should be cherished while we still have him. cf

  • good bit ov video there,it's good to see Jeff Beck and the rest constructing a bit ov music and hearing it slowly come together. NICE!

  • this is THE guy that makes THE Guitar sing

  • Is that Cleary on keys?...from Bonnie Raitt's band?

  • Don't know the name, but he plays with Scofield in Piety Street..

  • I love Jeff's reaction when the drummer gets the beat going its like a child getting what he wants lol

  • Bit wierdm but ok

  • vinnie colaiuta is a way better drummer IMO!.

  • i got one of his sticks last nite

  • Bonus points for the Nigel Tufnel shirt.

  • Its the song Nadia.....

  • Sounds like Jeff's got a bit of a Derek Trucks vibe going-on here.

  • Its the other way around. good call. Dereck has a Jeff Beck vibe. I heard that same thing too

  • Maybe young Derek had a bit of a Jeff Beck vibe going, eh?

  • That's sure.

  • I think it's the raga thing..

  • Beautiful!!! Thanks for posting:)

    Grandma Mary

  • The Beauty of Making Music

  • Jeff Beck is from another universe....truly gifted

  • @rapidtranq AMEN....what Jeff Beck does with a guitar is insanely perfect. it's so intense and perfect. it defies words....ahhhh. short but great video.

  • Amazing work on double bass

    Jeff oh Jeff :)

  • Nice vid.

  • Who's the drummer ? Looks like the guy I saw playing with MacLaughlin and Chick Corea

  • Mark Mondesir

  • i dont understand how he does it... looks simple but pretty much impossible to copy... one of a kind

  • If you look at what Jeff Beck accomplished on guitar before he even joined the Yardbirds, and add to that 45 years of supreme, constantly evolving and experimental playing, then he can only be absolutely mindblowing

  • You hit that nail on the head so precise one would call you a carpenter. Jeff is supreme.

  • oh my god. seriously, how can anyone get that sound out of a guitar, Jeff Beck is just awesome in the true sense of the word

  • Yes indeed!!!!!! Touch and tone!

  • The greatest living electric gtr player on earth !!

  • JB The master of touch and tone

  • Just love this guy...

  • maestro!!!

  • you just cannot but love the moment when the master is delighted at 0.58

  • Is he using a wah pedal at all, or is it coming from fingers and whammy bar?

  • Comment removed

  • yes he is using a wah....

  • i wish jeff did a version of nadia like this on record! its a jazzy side to an awesome song, very very cool.

  • This is so sweet... Not enough good things can be said about Beck, although the comments I've read on this page are all outstanding! What are the chords he says? Dmaj7 G# and G??

  • Pete King looks Bored out of his skull

  • this is like seeing how magic is done! awesome

  • Beck gets great sounds and tones at low levels. If you've seen him live then you know it only gets better. Compare this to the shred heads who have to crank every setting on their amp and they still get a mediocre tone.

  • @bowiemott It sounds like that, but I wonder what the amp is set on. I'm beginning to think you have to crank the amp, but really be cautious with the guitar volume knob, but the rewards, as can be heard, are great!

  • @xpaddy01 There is a web site called something like dinosaur rock dot com that has very detailed information on many of the classic rock players including Jeff Beck. Check it out for a breakdown of his gear and approach. And yes he obviously turns up the amp more for live performances but works the volume knob on the guitar. His sense of dynamics and ability to milk a note and nuance it is unique. Look at the Ronnie Scott shows here on youtube to get a taste.

  • @xpaddy01 brilliant..i feel u are correct I only discovered this last year..I am 40 and been playing forever..one day while jamming with frinds I cranked a little fender amp almost to 10 and lowered my guitar volume..and it sounded amazing and then when it was my turn to solo..just by bringing the guitar to max it was like wow!! everyone was wondering where did all that sound come from..lesson larned get a great tube amp..just a few effects and CRANK THE SUCKER and use your strats or Les volume

  • Respond to this video... truly inspiring..its all in the hands..fingers...so pure..thank u for this

  • This is amazing!

  • This is kick ass! Is this the actual recording of this album?

  • I feel Jeff is the most "accomplished" and "versatile" guitarist. Especially comparing him with the other 2 fellow Yardbirds, i.e.; Clapton and Page.

  • I agree with you 100% and I've played guitar for years. He was always the one that had more flash and very strange recognizable sound

  • Yes, Jeff has never been one to rest on his laurels, i.e,; on one distinct sound or style.

But he and his sound continues to evolve.

  • yes, yes, yes...agreed about Jeff.

  • It is pretty amazing watching this..

I've been playing for 11 years & every time i see Jeff Beck i feel like giving up..

He always manages to coax such a unique sound out of the instrument & without using any effects he can go from sitar to trumpet like sounds in an instant..

    A truly unique player!

  • Jeff Beck is awesomeness personified. He has never stopped developping his sound, style and skills. To me he is inspiration like nothing and nobody else.

  • It doesn't sound like a guitar anymore, his sense of melody surpasses imagination...it's like he's playing on a fretless guitar

  • When someone uses a slide it pretty much is a fretless guitar.Dan

  • well he only uses a slide in the intro... it's still fluid when he drops the slide

  • Beck is a legend.

  • I wish his latest racords where recorded more like in this fashion.

  • I guess about a year ago I came to the conclusion that Jeff is the best guitarist in the world. His playing is simply in another universe than anyone else's.

  • fuckin amazing

  • Think I'll go and chop my geetar up for fire wood... he's so far out there it's unreal.. :-) Genius, what a touch.

  • So totally agree... it's so humbling. Where is he coming from with that stuff???

Only wish he'd hurry and put out a new album!

  • jeff beck continues to push the boundries of guitar playing...GO JEFF!!!

  • This is from the video by Martin Scorsese - "The Blues" Feel Like Going Home (2003)

  • I have to correct you :-)

this is from Red, White & Blues by Mike Figgis, from the 7-film series "The Blues"

  • @jemf999 it is from both

  • did Nadia ever make it on air? Never got to see this episode :(

  • simply amazing!!

  • jeff sei il numero 1

  • chee video straordinario di jeff

  • Nadia is such a sick number

  • Lose the hat, John - it makes you look like Boy George . . .

  • hahaha

  • the besthumanoide guitarrist of the earth

  • ohhh nooo
