They are trying to stop a bill from killing their union the will make there wages shit and pass a law that they can't organize a union I'm the future dumass their not going red read a history book
Dear Fire fighters we dont need you if you support commies, we hav volunteer firefighters, Dear Police, we respected you at on time, now we own guns, we dont need you, teachers yeah right....never needed you...Commies all
It is written in Matthew 7:6 "Cast not your pearls before swine, lest they devour all that you have then turn and rend you". Well, the swine have devoured all there is, now they're turning to rend those who supplied what they were getting.
@kyeman66 I actually consider myself to be a Democratic Socialist. Democrats are not disgusting. People are allowed to have their own points of view in this country and that is not disgusting. Not everyone here is a Democrat. There is nothing disgusting about speaking your voice and standing up for your rights. Union busting...now that is actually something that is disgusting.
And your spelling is also quite disgusting. Sorry, had to say it...
@AliveIAm A Democratic Socialist? Then could you please cite for all of us the nation...just ONE Socialist nation in which the people, due to the governments efforts, are thriving and prospering?
@kyeman66 Democrats are far away from those Republican scums. I don't really care about political party. They are scums. We have to take back our country, that's all. Excuse us. We are storming in now.
@beancube2010 We DID take back our country, in the November election, are you forgetting that? Or, are you so intent on holding on to power that you will try to circumvent the will of the people? That leads to dictators like Hugo Chaves, and Moamar Gadaffi. Which one of those scum do you idolize?
@beancube2010 YOU ifolize the budget hitman Barrack Obama. Look at what he's done to the natiional budget. The Dems destroied the finances of these great United States, and now you want to vilify those who can repair what YOU'VE done? Get rea;, dude.
"Do not consider Collectivists as 'sincere but deluded idealists'. The proposal to enslave some men for the sake of others is not an ideal; brutality is not 'idealistic,' no matter what its purpose. Do not ever say that the desire to 'do good' by force is a good motive. Neither power-lust nor stupidity are good motives." - Ayn Rand
And anyone being attacked as a person is no longer engaged in a proper argument. However, "I win" is just as much of a logical fallacy. Just because your opponent commits a fallacy doesn't mean you're right.
Even if u support this bill, u hafta acknowledge it's the result of a longstanding grudge, and not because the unions are taking all our money. Scott Walker has an excuse to erode some support for Democrats and u think he'll pass it up? Fat chance.
Thank you!! You made my point!!!! Once you attack me as a person, and not my view on the matter.Truly means I have won !!!! You couldnt even answer the simple questions that I asked!!!!!!!!! Instead you try to correct my sentences? Good luck on bankrupting your state. Because the unions already bankrupted mine......
@robert69642 I am not sure who has attacked you as a person, and I am not sure what question you are speaking of. Unions are not the reason this state is in debt............
If you want to impress people then why dont you guys go picket at Walmart or Mcdonald for the kids who dont have a Benefit or a super cool pension? You work for the citizens of Wisconsin...I am perty sure they can replace you with some folk the would be gratetful to have a job. Unions are the maggots that suck companys till they are dead and gone. Pass the bill !
@robert69642 Who is trying to impress anyone? The people of Wisconsin are trying to protest the passage of this heinous bill!! Why is it so wrong to be able to collectively bargain? I don't understand what you people have against that.
What happend to the rights of the city? What can they do when unions STRONG ARM companys to their demands? The country is in debt and the unions don't care. Who is going to hurt from this? Is it the city or the unions. The unions would rather see the city burn in debt then them loose some bargaining rights. The unions are out of control and are selfish. And you my friends already have WAY more then your avereage worker. You want people to feel sorry for you? You want people to be on your side?
@robert69642 Unions better the work environment for everyone. Look up how many things those of us employed by the private sector would not have without unions!!! Wisconsin is in debt but it is not the union's fault. They have already agreed to paying more into their pension and health insurance. It takes two sides to compromise and now it is Walker's turn.
14 Dems walked out against the rules of the Wisconsin Constitution. btw The NEA unions were the largest contributor to Obama's campaign followed by Goldman Sachs, Citigroup, JP Morgan, GE, and a host of other Wall Street companies including Big Money Investment lawyers. Where did most of the stimulus cash go? Answer: The teachers and Munincipal worker's and Wall Street. Obama's for the little people? Gimme a F'n break !!! Collective bargaining is not a right it's a benefit that's been abused !
@profwaldo The heroic 14 walked out to make a point. There is a provision in Governor Walker’s bill that would allow the state to sell of publicly owned power plants to private industries if it’s “in the best interests of the state.” That provision could allow Walker to sell off power plants to one of his top political contributors-Koch Industries-and give the Koch brothers a vertical monopoly on electricity in the state-owning the production, distribution, and sale of power. Give ME a break!
@AliveIAm Okay, so the "heroic" 14 made their point, now get back and do that 'ol democracy thing. The collective bargaining is done between the union and the munincipalities school boards who are by and large Democrats, elected or appointed to their positions while being backed financially during their campaigns by the union's dues which were taken directly from the taxpayers coffers. It is comparable to a private company bargaining with a union head that just happens to also own the company.
@AliveIAm The collective bargaining "rights" have a direct impact on the future financial obligations which are incurred as a direct result of said bargaining. Unions were a good thing in their early days and did immeasurable good for the working man. But now, the things they fought for in the early days are common law across the country. The 40 hour week, overtime after 40hrs, safety equipment, workers safety, etc. All the unions fight for now is increasing perks for employees and union dues.
The city workers work for the people of Wisconsin!!! They people are broke! No one wants to give up even a little modest request? Its about the city workers? Like who the people at the DMV? Remember its the poor who are paying your wages!!!
@robert69642 I think you meant to say, "The people are broke!" It's obvious you don't value education because you cannot write an appropriate sentence!
@robert69642 I think you meant to say, "The people are broke!" It's obvious you don't value education because you cannot write an appropriate sentence!
read this with an open mind. if the bill does not pass thousands of workers will be fired. if the bill passes it will only make the workers pay more towards pension fund and it lets them keep their jobs. which would you choose
@schu8080 Well, I would not choose to keep the job that makes less than someone would make working at McDonald's! That is going to be the result at my boyfriend's job. He is going to make less than minimum wage after health insurance and pension is taken out. I am pretty sure he is going to be "losing" his job (by choice) after this bill passes anyway. Like most state employees, he doesn't make very much to begin with. That was the whole draw of the job...less pay for good benefits. Get it?
@schu8080 But I digress....once again I must say (even though I disagree that unions should have to pay more into health insurance and pension).....this is not about the money IT IS ABOUT SAVING THE UNIONS.
Honestly, I don't think I should be called a MORON for standing up for what I believe in. What country is this again? I don't have time to respond to all of the fools who are posting repeats of the lies they hear on Fox "News".
@eddyjames1952 That is completely untrue. The people are finally standing up for their rights. The greedy and unreasonable are Scott Walker, the Koch bros., and all those who support them. Unions have said that they will take the pay and benefit cuts (even though they are not the ones who should be carrying the burden of fixing the debt) and Scott Walker basically admitted this is all to bust the unions. This is all for his political gain.
@AliveIAm is right and Turd Boy Rove confirmed it in an interview. Bust the Unions and you bust the Democratic Party. No Unions = no Union money for Democratic campaigns.
@fatoletrucker2 just public unions. public unions destroy states. their outrages wages and compensation are exactly why so many states are broke. the need a taste of what the rest of america goes thru. the left is full of a bunch of lazy greedy hypocrites that want other people to take care of them and its gone on for too long. enough is enough. walker got voted in for exactly this reason. sorry guys but you are the minority. the tax payers pay your bills. just remember that.
@freeskier165 people in the public union pay taxes too, just remember THAT. "Outrages (sic) wages and compensation" ...what planet are you on? I don't know any teachers who are in it for the money! My boyfriend works for the state as does his father and neither of them have "outrages (sic) wages and compensation". It would make my life a hell of a lot easier if they did, but they don't! Why don't you take your trolling somewhere else and grow a brain, you fool!
@fatoletrucker2 your almost right. get rid of soros and buffet and then they are pretty much financially done. which goes to show that the unions control your party. congrats you just proved that you are hypocrites and only exist to screw taxpayers.
Well!! If you win and keep your benefits. Then say good buy to some employess you threw in the street in a form of layoffs!!!!!!!!! Im from Flint Mi former union worker, a word of advice give up a little to help the debt and keep your good paying job. Would you give up a little to HELP the debt for you childrens future ????
@robert69642 maybe so...but this is our home. it's so funny people ask, "why are we spending so much money to help those outside of the country when we have our own problems at home?" but when people try to help things at home, they get "they're not in misery...people in Darfur are in misery." which one, people?
Those protesters have way more than I have. I dont even have a pension or Insurance! Please be happy that you have more then others. You guys are making good wages!! Lets focus on cutting this debt, so our kids dont have to pay for it.
@robert69642 I am not a public employee, but I have been showing up to protest because I FULLY SUPPORT their unions. You are completely missing our point. Yes, it is true, none of these union members want to lose their RIGHT to collectively bargain. This is about UNION BUSTING. Scott Walker CREATED this debt in his first two months in office and is now expecting hard working families to pay for it. Make the top 2% pay for it-get rid of their tax cuts!!
@AliveIAm Public employees pay dues to union and vote for politician, union pays dues to politician campaign, politician gives benefits to public employees and concessions to the union, politician gets reelected. And repeat over and over again. And this is precisely how the system works, and precisely why the system does not work. It's not bargaining when all the characters interests are aligned; all the animals are feeding off the same carcass.
@Madner70 and that is exactly true and why walker is getting rid of some of their PRIVILEGES not all but some. they still have a grievance process. they still have work place protections. can still bargain for wages. the thing he is taking away is the bargaining power for benefits and pensions. and will not collect the union dues for them. they can still have there precious unions but they wont have the power they have now. your right about how it works thats why they need to be done away with.
@AliveIAm first off buddy your are a moron. "scott walker created the debt in 2 months." seriously youa re just retarded. the top 2% already pays 80% of the taxes. get your facts straight pal. walker has been cutting for 2 months not spending that was your good crook jim doyle who destroyed the budget. get a clue man. ITS NOT YOUR RIGHT. its a privilege. and they have taken advantage of it for to long. there is absolutely no law that says public workers have the "right" to collectively bargain.
@AliveIAm Im getting my facts about public employees from their ACTUAL salaries. and comp totals. Public employees means public knowledge. Tell me their names what district and county the work and I will tell you exactly how much they make. They def aren't in it for the kids. If they were they would be at work instead of illegally protesting. They pay taxes but it isn't new money coming in. they are paid w/ tax $. remember that. God typical lefty huh?come up with a good argument please.
@freeskier165 average teacher salary in public schools here in wisconsin is less than $50,000 a year. they are required to have expensive degrees to have these jobs, and are in the process of paying off loans. starting salary is less than $25,000 a year. I would say that is far from an "outrageous" salary. teachers spend most if not all of their time teaching, setting up lesson plans, and grading papers. most if not all definitely ARE in it for the kids.
@freeskier165 illegally protesting? people in this country are allowed to protest are they not? you are defending politicians who are not trying to protect the people, but are trying to protect their agenda and the greedy corporations who back them. fuck you.
@freeskier165 Also, Walker added $140 million to our debt spending on special interest groups. $25 million for an economic development fund for job creation, which still holds $73 million because of anemic job growth. $48 million for private health savings accounts -- a perennial Republican favorite. $67 million for a tax incentive plan that benefits employers, but at levels too low to spur hiring. And public unions have to foot this debt WHY????????
@AliveIAm how on eather do you come up with these number? tell me your source please. and how you determine these spending packages. and public unions footing the debt? how do you figure your union will pay for it. they dont pay for ANYTHING. well accept for donating money to democrats that will give the union tons of taxpayers money. TAXPAYERS. your unions my think you pay takes but really your just returning the money we pay you with. your taxes are cancel out....
@freeskier165 The Wisconsin Legislative Fiscal Bureau and Associated Press. First of all, I am not part of the union. I have stated this many times. I do not work for the state and am not payed by the state. I work for a private company and am not part of a union at all. And yes, public unions are footing the debt. Hardly any of these people make a lot of money and most have worked hard and sacrificed money in the past so that they could in turn have great benefits.
@AliveIAm you tell me what bill it is and i will believe you. however sometimes you need to spend money to make money. if you spend it the right way and jobs are created what is the problem. the money that the repair bill will save will cover your claim. and they havent sacrificed anything they are paid $20000 more then the avg WI private employee. and their benefits are far more superior to private. a pension they dont pay for and a gold plated health plan they pay 5% for. sacrifice? where?
@freeskier165 I am quoting a newspaper op-ed article in the Capitol Times who shows their sources. You can look them up if you want. I agree, spend money to make money and I don't see a problem with that. Public employees are not paid $20,000 more than the average employee. Yes, their benefits are better. They have fought for that and sacrificed for that.
@freeskier165 Many people who work for the state are USUALLY required to have some kind of degree. Average private employees are not. Therefore average public employees tend to be more qualified than average private employees (many of whom work at minimum wage jobs like Walmart).
@AliveIAm i forgot public employees are more qualified to do everything right? more school makes them better people. smugness of the left never ceases to amaze me.
@freeskier165 Um...well....more schooling makes people more qualified usually, yes. There are some instances where people are very qualified without schooling. Public employees are not "better people"...I am not sure where you are going with that statement...?
@AliveIAm the whole schooling argument is way off topic so lets just not go there. school doesnt make you more qualified then the next person. all it means is they went to school to learn whatever and the other person learned it some other way. who is better at something has nothing to do with school. lebron didnt play college ball but 3 string whoever did play college. does that make the 3rd string player more qualified to play that position. of course not. ps I hate basketball. just an example
@freeskier165 schooling is way off topic but basketball isn't off topic???????????? I actually said there are some instances where people are very qualified with out schooling.
@AliveIAm and im trying to tell not just some all instances. doesnt matter how much school you have. what matters is who is the best at whatever it is. school doesnt make you more qualified then some who didnt go to school.
@AliveIAm AVG WI public employee $52000. Avg private employee $32000. yes i rounded. op-eds are opinion pieces. The capital times. more liberal propaganda. Name the bill and i will read it and decide if you are correct.
@freeskier165 Yes, I know what op-eds are. They sited their sources and I have seen other articles that have similar info that site the same sources. I don't have time to go look for it, that is why I told you to look it up. I don't care if you think I am correct or not. I know what I believe in and I know you don't share the same values and opinions as I do.
@AliveIAm and you didnt complain when when obama passed his retarded stimulus package for what was it 880 billion dollars? somewhere in that ball park. how many PRIVATE TAX PAYING jobs did he create with that NOT EVEN ONE. and your unions are good for nothing we have laws that protect workers. you need to see beyond your bullshit and your parties propaganda.
@freeskier165 Hmm, you don't even know me. I didn't even vote for Obama. I agree, the way that stimulus package was handles was ridiculous. I think the unions are not good for nothing. I think that we have a lot to thank unions for.
@freeskier165 Walker said 98 percent of small businesses "will be eligible" for job-creating tax relief under his emergency plan to jump-start the lagging Wisconsin economy. There are that many businesses under the $500,000 threshold -- but that’s just the beginning of the story. They may all be eligible to apply, but many won’t qualify for a tax credit of any significant size. And the number gets substantially reduced because unprofitable businesses won’t see a credit until they turn around....
@freeskier165 I don't know where you are getting "the top 2% already pays 80% of the taxes". That seems bloated to me, but if you can show your sources, great. Anyway, the top 2% can AFFORD to pay that much of the taxes. So they will have to sell 1 or 2 of their vacations homes. SO WHAT. It is better than having to choose between putting gas in your car and buying groceries for the week. Fuck off.
@AliveIAm Heritage.org. who are you to say what they can and cant afford. lets play a game. lets say you make more money then me. that means you can afford to give me 55%of your paychecks. thats your argument you dumbshit. but if your will to give me 55% of your salary i wont complain would you like to know the account you can transfer my money too? who the fuck are you to determine if some has enough money. if thats your argument then i think you make too much and i need half of yours. deal?
@freeskier165 If I made as much as the top 2% and I was contributing 55% of my paycheck to taxes and not to you alone, then yes I would totally contribute that. No question.
@AliveIAm thats not at all the point your sayng that someone has too much money. and thats what im telling you. who the fuck are you to say that someone is to rich? thats the most unamerican thing ive ever heard. but if that how you want it then fine. You make too much money and I need your money to pay my bills. its for a good cuz. so please send me 55% of your paycheck. you wont cuz your a hypocrite. IT IS EXACTLY THE SAME THING JUST ON A SMALLER SCALE. NO DIFFERENCE AT ALL.
@freeskier165 First of all, your grammar and spelling are terrible.
No, it is not the same at all. Paying taxes is much different than paying one (stupid) individual. People who make more money should have to contribute more to taxes than the poor because they can afford it. If I was rich, I would pay more for sure. Yes, I believe people can be too rich. When the divide between the rich and poor is this great in this country, no I don't think it is unAmerican to say that.
@AliveIAm some keys are broken. But no its not different. you make more money then me so you can afford to give me money. its not different. tax payers pay tax and tax dollars pay public employees. what dont you understand about that. if someone pay $100000 in taxes that is about equal to one teachers pay and benefits. so therefore that person paid for the public workers salary. like i said who are you to say that some can or cant afford it. the rich already are taxed more then the poor idiot.
@freeskier165 As they should be. Teachers' average salary in Wisconsin is less than 5&0,000 a year. I said that before. Yes it is different. Taxes are not solely used to pay public employees. You are an idiot.
@AliveIAm my god you are a moron. no shit they arent used to just pay employees. but 70% of the budget is. you are so small minded you just dont get what im saying. you are saying that rich people make too much money and should pay more tax. im saying you are to rich and im going to tax you because you make too much. how is that hard to understand. it is the same thing. yes taxes pay for a lot of things. so send me your money and ill decide how to spend it ok.
@AliveIAm yes it is on a smaller scale. You cant admit that you wouldn't do it cuz it'll destroy your entire argument. you say they are too rich. well I say you are too rich. no difference. AHHH so you must be the one who determines what enough money is. you and you alone. come on you know that that doesnt make sense. and if they cited their sources then the source should be a bill article amendment section line. it'll take you 2 seconds to go to capital times. i cant find the article you mean.
@AliveIAm go to google type in avg WI teacher salary 2010. 3rd link michelle malkin yes i know its michelle malkin but all the numbers are from the Mciver institute a credible source. these #s arent made up i promise. and you can have w/e ideals you want. this is america...well tahts just what you are claiming who are you to say that rich people make to much money? compared to what. in my example your rich compared to me. so therefore i think you make too much money so you should pay me.
@freeskier165 both conservative think tank sources I see..........fine, rich people don't make "too much money" but they make enough that they can afford to pay higher taxes instead of stripping the public employees of their collective bargaining rights that they have earned. This whole issue is not even about the budget, Scott Walker has all but admitted this is about union busting. It's going to be a domino effect & the rich will become richer and the poor will become poorer.
@AliveIAm limiting the unions ability to bargain for their benefits is about the budget anyways. their bargaining privileges werent earned but were given. what is given can be taken away. they have taken advantage of their power and screwed the taxpayers for too long and we have said enough. FDR said it best. read what he said about collective bargaining for public employees. he was a huge union supporter. unions are good for nothing. we have labor laws now that protect workers.
@freeskier165 No! It is not about the budget! The unions have said that they will pay the amount Imperial Walker wants them to pay! He won't budge on the collective bargaining rights issue!!! It seems like there are a lot more people protesting this bill than there are supporting it. Maybe that says something???? Unions are not good for nothing. I do not agree with you.
@AliveIAm and name me any teacher tell me the county and district and i will tell you EXACTLY how much they make. and trust me the avg teacher does make more the $50000. shit you have bus drivers in madison making $150000 dollars not including compensation and pension. so please dont tell me they are under paid that is a complete fallacy.
@freeskier165 I got info from this website dpi. state. wi. us/ and the average teacher salary is not more than $50000 in most of these places. I know there was ONE guy who made that much driving buses, but I am not sure what the average salary is for public bus drivers in Wisconsin. That ONE guy took every bit of overtime available and worked tons of hours to make that much money.
@AliveIAm 7 drivers. they found a way to mess with the overtime by calling in sick for one shift and then coming in to fill in for the next driver who called in sick so he can make overtime wages. how can he do that? UNION protection regarding overtime. the avg wi teacher salary for the 2009-2010 year was $52644. if you include compensation it tops $100000.
@freeskier165 what you are saying doesn't make any sense. compensation is what one is paid, is it not? how can teachers make $50,000 beyond their salary in "compensation"?
@AliveIAm HEALTHCARE BENEFITS YOU MORON! and I google searched scott walker $140 million debt and couldn't find one article supporting your clain. sorry i tried. but total compensation includes salary and benefits. man you are dumb.
@freeskier165 you said "if you include compensation it tops $100,000" that didn't make sense. you should have said "if you include health care benefits the total compensation would top $100,000" either way I don't believe those numbers.
@AliveIAm you dont have to believe them but hey are the truth you cant deny fact. those to sentences say the same thing. its not my fault you dont know what compensation means. and either way you work it too much or enough they also mean the same thing. who are you to say what is enough? i think you make enough money so give me 55%. it is about union "busting" he isnt saying they cant have unions just that the sate will not collect their dues and they cant bargain for their compensation.
@freeskier165 No, it doesn't mean the same thing. Most of your "facts" are not actually facts, sorry to burst your bubble. One of the most important benefits of being a union is collective bargaining rights...take away that and what do you have left.....
@AliveIAm they are facts. cuz they dont support your argument doesnt make them untrue. do some unbiased research and you'll see. everything # i have given is true. if im off its by very little. you think that most people support it cuz thats the people you surround urself with. most people support walker. thats why he is governor and barrett isnt. please read FDR's quote it explains exactly why they cant work. lots of states dont have collective bargaining its not a right its a privilege. bye
@freeskier165 by the way, I did read FDR's quote. I believe that Scott Walker is the one "binding the employer" (the whole people) more than collective bargaining could ever. The corporate owners and their lackey politicians are against the working people. The Koch brothers are behind this because they will get to buy Wisconsin energy at a reduced price due to their support of Walker. Walker created this mess---before that, there was no economic problem in the state.
@AliveIAm but I quit there is no point trying to make you understand they your argument is flawed. In a free country (the one you live in) it is everyones right to make as much money as they want. the rich do pay most of the taxes. look it up and you will find that the top 10% of earners pay at least 80% of the income taxes. at least. and yes they will be from "right" sources. but that is only because the "left" ones would never report it. its counter-intuitive to there argument. its been...fun?
@freeskier165 and please don't tell me you don't think the right sources are skewed because they are certainly the most skewed as proved time and time again
@AliveIAM I was in a union and they need to fix some majors things. Like lazy people are protected. Everyone gets paid equal. I have a problem with that because, You dont have to really work and still get paid. I know how it works. We have labor laws now.
@AliveIAM I was in a union and they need to fix some majors things. Like lazy people are protected. Everyone gets paid equal. I have a problem with that because, You dont have to really work and still get paid. I know how it works. We have labor laws now. P.S try AliveIAM you support those unions ?Try to get a job with one good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@robert69642 my boyfriend works for the state and is in a union. it is true, there is some waste. But I can see the bigger picture and how horrible it will be for this state and this country if the unions are stripped of their rights. why punish everyone because of a few lazy people?
@robert69642 Also, this bill does not only include ridding public employee unions of most of their rights which will destroy the unions, it includes serious things about medicaid and the state colleges.
@robert69642 Yes! Reduce the debt balance the budget! Absolutely! No one is against that, and the unions stand ready to help. But Mr. Walker's bill doesn't do that. What it does is removes all meaningful bargaining rights and seriously jepordizes the ability of public employees to organize in the future.
Rather than begrudge others their success, stand with us so that together we can create a better future for all of us and our kids. After all, that's what collective bargaining is all about.
@theaj42 I was in a union I know how they work They protect alot of lazy people. And make It near impossible for good people to get jobs with them. But there are laws now to protect workers. the mayor of Wisconsin has the only solution to protect those jobs,CUT BACK.But those union folks are way too greedy to for that. So the picketers, would rather you lay peopleoo. Before you cut back on their benefits. Id like to see a union picket for a person, who just got laid off, But they wont.
@robert69642 Why are you saying, "I don't have this, so they shouldn't either", when you should be saying, "they have it, so I should too." I feel bad that you don't have a pension or insurance, and you should have those things, but don't wish that others should be in the misery.
IMHO I think the protest/rally is a lost cause... The greedy Republicants and their greedy big businiess & corporate donation contributors are determined to destroy the American way of life if it's the last thing they do!
@ubernash why r u in fvor wat has that man done that was not against the constitution or good for madison?!

kyeman66 1 year ago
@kyeman66 I actually consider myself to be a Democratic Socialist. Democrats are not disgusting. People are allowed to have their own points of view in this country and that is not disgusting. Not everyone here is a Democrat. There is nothing disgusting about speaking your voice and standing up for your rights. Union busting...now that is actually something that is disgusting.
And your spelling is also quite disgusting. Sorry, had to say it...
AliveIAm 1 year ago
@AliveIAm A Democratic Socialist? Then could you please cite for all of us the nation...just ONE Socialist nation in which the people, due to the governments efforts, are thriving and prospering?
gareyt17 10 months ago
@kyeman66 Democrats are far away from those Republican scums. I don't really care about political party. They are scums. We have to take back our country, that's all. Excuse us. We are storming in now.
beancube2010 1 year ago
@beancube2010 We DID take back our country, in the November election, are you forgetting that? Or, are you so intent on holding on to power that you will try to circumvent the will of the people? That leads to dictators like Hugo Chaves, and Moamar Gadaffi. Which one of those scum do you idolize?
buisyman 11 months ago
@buisyman Should we idolize an economy hit man from the Koch brothers like Fox News?

Even if u support this bill, u hafta acknowledge it's the result of a longstanding grudge, and not because the unions are taking all our money. Scott Walker has an excuse to erode some support for Democrats and u think he'll pass it up? Fat chance.

People like walker were enemies of the unions when they WERE winning important rights for workers.

Thank you!! You made my point!!!! Once you attack me as a person, and not my view on the matter.Truly means I have won !!!! You couldnt even answer the simple questions that I asked!!!!!!!!! You work for the citizens of Wisconsin...I am perty sure they can replace you with some folk the would be gratetful to have a job. Unions are the maggots that suck companys till they are dead and gone. Pass the bill !
robert69642 1 year ago
@robert69642 Who is trying to impress anyone? The people of Wisconsin are trying to protest the passage of this heinous bill!! Why is it so wrong to be able to collectively bargain? I don't understand what you people have against that.
AliveIAm 1 year ago
What happend to the rights of the city? What can they do when unions STRONG ARM companys to their demands? The country is in debt and the unions don't care. Who is going to hurt from this? Is it the city or the unions. The unions would rather see the city burn in debt then them loose some bargaining rights. The unions are out of control and are selfish. And you my friends already have WAY more then your avereage worker. You want people to feel sorry for you? You want people to be on your side?
robert69642 1 year ago
@robert69642 Unions better the work environment for everyone. Look up how many things those of us employed by the private sector would not have without unions!!! Wisconsin is in debt but it is not the union's fault. They have already agreed to paying more into their pension and health insurance. It takes two sides to compromise and now it is Walker's turn.
AliveIAm 1 year ago
14 Dems walked out against the rules of the Wisconsin Constitution. btw The NEA unions were the largest contributor to Obama's campaign followed by Goldman Sachs, Citigroup, JP Morgan, GE, and a host of other Wall Street companies including Big Money Investment lawyers. Where did most of the stimulus cash go? Answer: The teachers and Munincipal worker's and Wall Street. Obama's for the little people? Gimme a F'n break !!! Collective bargaining is not a right it's a benefit that's been abused !
profwaldo 1 year ago
@profwaldo The heroic 14 walked out to make a point. There is a provision in Governor Walker’s bill that would allow the state to sell of publicly owned power plants to private industries if it’s “in the best interests of the state.” That provision could allow Walker to sell off power plants to one of his top political contributors-Koch Industries-and give the Koch brothers a vertical monopoly on electricity in the state-owning the production, distribution, and sale of power. Give ME a break!
AliveIAm 1 year ago
@AliveIAm Okay, so the "heroic" 14 made their point, now get back and do that 'ol democracy thing. The collective bargaining is done between the union and the munincipalities school boards who are by and large Democrats, elected or appointed to their positions while being backed financially during their campaigns by the union's dues which were taken directly from the taxpayers coffers. It is comparable to a private company bargaining with a union head that just happens to also own the company.
profwaldo 1 year ago
@AliveIAm The collective bargaining "rights" have a direct impact on the future financial obligations which are incurred as a direct result of said bargaining. Unions were a good thing in their early days and did immeasurable good for the working man. But now, the things they fought for in the early days are common law across the country. The 40 hour week, overtime after 40hrs, safety equipment, workers safety, etc. All the unions fight for now is increasing perks for employees and union dues.

read this with an open mind. if the bill does not pass thousands of workers will be fired. if the bill passes it will only make the workers pay more towards pension fund and it lets them keep their jobs. which would you choose
schu8080 1 year ago
@schu8080 Well, I would not choose to keep the job that makes less than someone would make working at McDonald's! That is going to be the result at my boyfriend's job. He is going to make less than minimum wage after health insurance and pension is taken out. I am pretty sure he is going to be "losing" his job (by choice) after this bill passes anyway. Like most state employees, he doesn't make very much to begin with. That was the whole draw of the job...less pay for good benefits. Get it?
AliveIAm 1 year ago
@schu8080 But I digress....once again I must say (even though I disagree that unions should have to pay more into health insurance and pension).....this is not about the money IT IS ABOUT SAVING THE UNIONS.

eddyjames1952 1 year ago 2
@eddyjames1952 That is completely untrue. The people are finally standing up for their rights. The greedy and unreasonable are Scott Walker, the Koch bros., and all those who support them. Unions have said that they will take the pay and benefit cuts (even though they are not the ones who should be carrying the burden of fixing the debt) and Scott Walker basically admitted this is all to bust the unions. This is all for his political gain.

robert69642 1 year ago
@robert69642 I am not a public employee, but I have been showing up to protest because I FULLY SUPPORT their unions. You are completely missing our point. Yes, it is true, none of these union members want to lose their RIGHT to collectively bargain. This is about UNION BUSTING. Scott Walker CREATED this debt in his first two months in office and is now expecting hard working families to pay for it. Make the top 2% pay for it-get rid of their tax cuts!!
AliveIAm 1 year ago 5
@AliveIAm Public employees pay dues to union and vote for politician, union pays dues to politician campaign, politician gives benefits to public employees and concessions to the union, politician gets reelected. And repeat over and over again. And this is precisely how the system works, and precisely why the system does not work. It's not bargaining when all the characters interests are aligned; all the animals are feeding off the same carcass.
Madner70 1 year ago
@Madner70 and that is exactly true and why walker is getting rid of some of their PRIVILEGES not all but some. they still have a grievance process. they still have work place protections. can still bargain for wages. the thing he is taking away is the bargaining power for benefits and pensions. and will not collect the union dues for them. they can still have there precious unions but they wont have the power they have now. your right about how it works thats why they need to be done away with.
freeskier165 1 year ago
@AliveIAm first off buddy your are a moron. "scott walker created the debt in 2 months." seriously youa re just retarded. the top 2% already pays 80% of the taxes. get your facts straight pal. walker has been cutting for 2 months not spending that was your good crook jim doyle who destroyed the budget. get a clue man. ITS NOT YOUR RIGHT. its a privilege. and they have taken advantage of it for to long. there is absolutely no law that says public workers have the "right" to collectively bargain.
freeskier165 1 year ago
@freeskier165 I don't know where you are getting your facts because they are not correct. I assure you I am not the moron here.
AliveIAm 1 year ago
@AliveIAm Im getting my facts about public employees from their ACTUAL salaries. and comp totals. Public employees means public knowledge. Tell me their names what district and county the work and I will tell you exactly how much they make. They def aren't in it for the kids. If they were they would be at work instead of illegally protesting. They pay taxes but it isn't new money coming in. they are paid w/ tax $. remember that. God typical lefty huh?come up with a good argument please.
freeskier165 1 year ago
@freeskier165 average teacher salary in public schools here in wisconsin is less than $50,000 a year. they are required to have expensive degrees to have these jobs, and are in the process of paying off loans. starting salary is less than $25,000 a year. I would say that is far from an "outrageous" salary. teachers spend most if not all of their time teaching, setting up lesson plans, and grading papers. most if not all definitely ARE in it for the kids.
AliveIAm 1 year ago
@freeskier165 illegally protesting? people in this country are allowed to protest are they not? you are defending politicians who are not trying to protect the people, but are trying to protect their agenda and the greedy corporations who back them. fuck you.
AliveIAm 1 year ago
@freeskier165 Also, Walker added $140 million to our debt spending on special interest groups. $25 million for an economic development fund for job creation, which still holds $73 million because of anemic job growth. $48 million for private health savings accounts -- a perennial Republican favorite. $67 million for a tax incentive plan that benefits employers, but at levels too low to spur hiring. And public unions have to foot this debt WHY????????
AliveIAm 1 year ago
@AliveIAm how on eather do you come up with these number? tell me your source please. and how you determine these spending packages. and public unions footing the debt? how do you figure your union will pay for it. they dont pay for ANYTHING. well accept for donating money to democrats that will give the union tons of taxpayers money. TAXPAYERS. your unions my think you pay takes but really your just returning the money we pay you with. your taxes are cancel out....
freeskier165 1 year ago
@freeskier165 The Wisconsin Legislative Fiscal Bureau and Associated Press. First of all, I am not part of the union. I have stated this many times. I do not work for the state and am not payed by the state. I work for a private company and am not part of a union at all. And yes, public unions are footing the debt. Hardly any of these people make a lot of money and most have worked hard and sacrificed money in the past so that they could in turn have great benefits.
AliveIAm 1 year ago
@AliveIAm you tell me what bill it is and i will believe you. however sometimes you need to spend money to make money. if you spend it the right way and jobs are created what is the problem. the money that the repair bill will save will cover your claim. and they havent sacrificed anything they are paid $20000 more then the avg WI private employee. and their benefits are far more superior to private. a pension they dont pay for and a gold plated health plan they pay 5% for. sacrifice? where?
freeskier165 1 year ago
@freeskier165 I am quoting a newspaper op-ed article in the Capitol Times who shows their sources. You can look them up if you want. I agree, spend money to make money and I don't see a problem with that. Public employees are not paid $20,000 more than the average employee. Yes, their benefits are better. They have fought for that and sacrificed for that.
AliveIAm 1 year ago
@AliveIAm AVG WI public employee $52000. Avg private employee $32000. yes i rounded.
freeskier165 1 year ago
@freeskier165 Many people who work for the state are USUALLY required to have some kind of degree. Average private employees are not. Therefore average public employees tend to be more qualified than average private employees (many of whom work at minimum wage jobs like Walmart).
AliveIAm 1 year ago
@AliveIAm i forgot public employees are more qualified to do everything right? more school makes them better people. smugness of the left never ceases to amaze me.
freeskier165 1 year ago
@freeskier165 Um...well....more schooling makes people more qualified usually, yes. There are some instances where people are very qualified without schooling. Public employees are not "better people"...I am not sure where you are going with that statement...?
AliveIAm 1 year ago
@AliveIAm the whole schooling argument is way off topic so lets just not go there. school doesnt make you more qualified then the next person. all it means is they went to school to learn whatever and the other person learned it some other way. who is better at something has nothing to do with school. lebron didnt play college ball but 3 string whoever did play college. does that make the 3rd string player more qualified to play that position. of course not. ps I hate basketball. just an example
freeskier165 1 year ago
@freeskier165 schooling is way off topic but basketball isn't off topic???????????? I actually said there are some instances where people are very qualified with out schooling.
AliveIAm 1 year ago
@AliveIAm and im trying to tell not just some all instances. doesnt matter how much school you have. what matters is who is the best at whatever it is. school doesnt make you more qualified then some who didnt go to school.
freeskier165 1 year ago
@AliveIAm AVG WI public employee $52000. Avg private employee $32000. yes i rounded. op-eds are opinion pieces. The capital times. more liberal propaganda. Name the bill and i will read it and decide if you are correct.
freeskier165 1 year ago
@freeskier165 Yes, I know what op-eds are. They sited their sources and I have seen other articles that have similar info that site the same sources. I don't have time to go look for it, that is why I told you to look it up. I don't care if you think I am correct or not. I know what I believe in and I know you don't share the same values and opinions as I do.
AliveIAm 1 year ago
@AliveIAm and you didnt complain when when obama passed his retarded stimulus package for what was it 880 billion dollars? somewhere in that ball park. how many PRIVATE TAX PAYING jobs did he create with that NOT EVEN ONE. and your unions are good for nothing we have laws that protect workers. you need to see beyond your bullshit and your parties propaganda.
freeskier165 1 year ago
@freeskier165 Hmm, you don't even know me. I didn't even vote for Obama. I agree, the way that stimulus package was handles was ridiculous. I think the unions are not good for nothing. I think that we have a lot to thank unions for.
AliveIAm 1 year ago
@freeskier165 Walker said 98 percent of small businesses "will be eligible" for job-creating tax relief under his emergency plan to jump-start the lagging Wisconsin economy. There are that many businesses under the $500,000 threshold -- but that’s just the beginning of the story. They may all be eligible to apply, but many won’t qualify for a tax credit of any significant size. And the number gets substantially reduced because unprofitable businesses won’t see a credit until they turn around....
AliveIAm 1 year ago
@freeskier165 ........Even business advocates don’t contend it would help recipients create jobs, as Walker claims.
AliveIAm 1 year ago
@freeskier165 I don't know where you are getting "the top 2% already pays 80% of the taxes". That seems bloated to me, but if you can show your sources, great. Anyway, the top 2% can AFFORD to pay that much of the taxes. So they will have to sell 1 or 2 of their vacations homes. SO WHAT. It is better than having to choose between putting gas in your car and buying groceries for the week. Fuck off.
AliveIAm 1 year ago
@AliveIAm Heritage.org. who are you to say what they can and cant afford. lets play a game. lets say you make more money then me. that means you can afford to give me 55%of your paychecks. thats your argument you dumbshit. but if your will to give me 55% of your salary i wont complain would you like to know the account you can transfer my money too? who the fuck are you to determine if some has enough money. if thats your argument then i think you make too much and i need half of yours. deal?
freeskier165 1 year ago
@freeskier165 If I made as much as the top 2% and I was contributing 55% of my paycheck to taxes and not to you alone, then yes I would totally contribute that. No question.
AliveIAm 1 year ago
@AliveIAm thats not at all the point your sayng that someone has too much money. and thats what im telling you. who the fuck are you to say that someone is to rich? thats the most unamerican thing ive ever heard. but if that how you want it then fine. You make too much money and I need your money to pay my bills. its for a good cuz. so please send me 55% of your paycheck. you wont cuz your a hypocrite. IT IS EXACTLY THE SAME THING JUST ON A SMALLER SCALE. NO DIFFERENCE AT ALL.
freeskier165 1 year ago
@freeskier165 First of all, your grammar and spelling are terrible.
No, it is not the same at all. Paying taxes is much different than paying one (stupid) individual. People who make more money should have to contribute more to taxes than the poor because they can afford it. If I was rich, I would pay more for sure. Yes, I believe people can be too rich. When the divide between the rich and poor is this great in this country, no I don't think it is unAmerican to say that.
AliveIAm 1 year ago
@AliveIAm some keys are broken. But no its not different. you make more money then me so you can afford to give me money. its not different. tax payers pay tax and tax dollars pay public employees. what dont you understand about that. if someone pay $100000 in taxes that is about equal to one teachers pay and benefits. so therefore that person paid for the public workers salary. like i said who are you to say that some can or cant afford it. the rich already are taxed more then the poor idiot.
freeskier165 1 year ago
@freeskier165 As they should be. Teachers' average salary in Wisconsin is less than 5&0,000 a year. I said that before. Yes it is different. Taxes are not solely used to pay public employees. You are an idiot.
AliveIAm 1 year ago
@AliveIAm my god you are a moron. no shit they arent used to just pay employees. but 70% of the budget is. you are so small minded you just dont get what im saying. you are saying that rich people make too much money and should pay more tax. im saying you are to rich and im going to tax you because you make too much. how is that hard to understand. it is the same thing. yes taxes pay for a lot of things. so send me your money and ill decide how to spend it ok.
freeskier165 1 year ago
@AliveIAm my god you are a moron. no shit they arent used to just pay employees. but 70% of the budget is. you are so small minded you just dont get what im saying. you are saying that rich people make too much money and should pay more tax. im saying you are to rich and im going to tax you because you make too much. how is that hard to understand. it is the same thing. yes taxes pay for a lot of things. so send me your money and ill decide how to spend it ok.

@freeskier165 Um, no. Not the same and that's not how it works.
AliveIAm 1 year ago
@AliveIAm yes it is on a smaller scale. You cant admit that you wouldn't do it cuz it'll destroy your entire argument. you say they are too rich. well I say you are too rich. no difference. AHHH so you must be the one who determines what enough money is. you and you alone. come on you know that that doesnt make sense. and if they cited their sources then the source should be a bill article amendment section line. it'll take you 2 seconds to go to capital times. i cant find the article you mean.
freeskier165 1 year ago
@freeskier165 if you google search the statistics I gave a bunch of articles will pop up.
Yes, I alone determine what enough money is......you are right............(eye roll)
AliveIAm 1 year ago
@AliveIAm go to google type in avg WI teacher salary 2010. 3rd link michelle malkin yes i know its michelle malkin but all the numbers are from the Mciver institute a credible source. these #s arent made up i promise. and you can have w/e ideals you want. this is america...well tahts just what you are claiming who are you to say that rich people make to much money? compared to what. in my example your rich compared to me. so therefore i think you make too much money so you should pay me.
freeskier165 1 year ago
@freeskier165 both conservative think tank sources I see..........fine, rich people don't make "too much money" but they make enough that they can afford to pay higher taxes instead of stripping the public employees of their collective bargaining rights that they have earned. This whole issue is not even about the budget, Scott Walker has all but admitted this is about union busting. It's going to be a domino effect & the rich will become richer and the poor will become poorer.
AliveIAm 1 year ago
@AliveIAm limiting the unions ability to bargain for their benefits is about the budget anyways. their bargaining privileges werent earned but were given. what is given can be taken away. they have taken advantage of their power and screwed the taxpayers for too long and we have said enough. FDR said it best. read what he said about collective bargaining for public employees. he was a huge union supporter. unions are good for nothing. we have labor laws now that protect workers.
freeskier165 1 year ago
@freeskier165 No! It is not about the budget! The unions have said that they will pay the amount Imperial Walker wants them to pay! He won't budge on the collective bargaining rights issue!!! It seems like there are a lot more people protesting this bill than there are supporting it. Maybe that says something???? Unions are not good for nothing. I do not agree with you.

@AliveIAm and name me any teacher tell me the county and district and i will tell you EXACTLY how much they make. and trust me the avg teacher does make more the $50000. shit you have bus drivers in madison making $150000 dollars not including compensation and pension. so please dont tell me they are under paid that is a complete fallacy.
freeskier165 1 year ago
@freeskier165 I got info from this website dpi. state. wi. us/ and the average teacher salary is not more than $50000 in most of these places. I know there was ONE guy who made that much driving buses, but I am not sure what the average salary is for public bus drivers in Wisconsin. That ONE guy took every bit of overtime available and worked tons of hours to make that much money.
AliveIAm 1 year ago
@AliveIAm 7 drivers. they found a way to mess with the overtime by calling in sick for one shift and then coming in to fill in for the next driver who called in sick so he can make overtime wages. how can he do that? UNION protection regarding overtime. the avg wi teacher salary for the 2009-2010 year was $52644. if you include compensation it tops $100000.
freeskier165 1 year ago
@freeskier165 what you are saying doesn't make any sense. compensation is what one is paid, is it not? how can teachers make $50,000 beyond their salary in "compensation"?
AliveIAm 1 year ago
@AliveIAm HEALTHCARE BENEFITS YOU MORON! and I google searched scott walker $140 million debt and couldn't find one article supporting your clain. sorry i tried. but total compensation includes salary and benefits. man you are dumb.
freeskier165 1 year ago
@freeskier165 you said "if you include compensation it tops $100,000" that didn't make sense. you should have said "if you include health care benefits the total compensation would top $100,000" either way I don't believe those numbers.
AliveIAm 1 year ago

AliveIAm 1 year ago
@AliveIAm they are facts. cuz they dont support your argument doesnt make them untrue. do some unbiased research and you'll see. everything # i have given is true. if im off its by very little. you think that most people support it cuz thats the people you surround urself with. most people support walker. thats why he is governor and barrett isnt. please read FDR's quote it explains exactly why they cant work. lots of states dont have collective bargaining its not a right its a privilege. bye
freeskier165 1 year ago
@freeskier165 and all of those states who do not have collective bargaining rights' schools are ranked very, very low in this country.
AliveIAm 1 year ago
@freeskier165 by the way, I did read FDR's quote. I believe that Scott Walker is the one "binding the employer" (the whole people) more than collective bargaining could ever. The corporate owners and their lackey politicians are against the working people. The Koch brothers are behind this because they will get to buy Wisconsin energy at a reduced price due to their support of Walker. Walker created this mess---before that, there was no economic problem in the state.
AliveIAm 1 year ago
@AliveIAm but I quit there is no point trying to make you understand they your argument is flawed. In a free country (the one you live in) it is everyones right to make as much money as they want. the rich do pay most of the taxes. look it up and you will find that the top 10% of earners pay at least 80% of the income taxes. at least. and yes they will be from "right" sources. but that is only because the "left" ones would never report it. its counter-intuitive to there argument. its been...fun?
freeskier165 1 year ago
@freeskier165 Yep, it sure has been fun. I love arguing with morons! :)
AliveIAm 1 year ago
@freeskier165 and please don't tell me you don't think the right sources are skewed because they are certainly the most skewed as proved time and time again
AliveIAm 1 year ago
@freeskier165 And I do consider myself a Democratic Socialist. I share quite a few ideals with Socialists. Do you have a problem with that?

@AliveIAm first off buddy your are a moron. "scott walker created the debt in 2 months." seriously youa re just retarded. the top 2% already pays 80% of the taxes. get your facts straight pal. walker has been cutting for 2 months not spending that was your good crook jim doyle who destroyed the budget. get a clue man. ITS NOT YOUR RIGHT. its a privilege. and they have taken advantage of it for to long. there is absolutely no law that says public workers have the "right" to collectively bargain.

@AliveIAM I was in a union and they need to fix some majors things. Like lazy people are protected. Everyone gets paid equal. I have a problem with that because, You dont have to really work and still get paid. I know how it works. We have labor laws now.

@robert69642 my boyfriend works for the state and is in a union. it is true, there is some waste. But I can see the bigger picture and how horrible it will be for this state and this country if the unions are stripped of their rights. why punish everyone because of a few lazy people?
AliveIAm 1 year ago
@robert69642 Also, this bill does not only include ridding public employee unions of most of their rights which will destroy the unions, it includes serious things about medicaid and the state colleges.
AliveIAm 1 year ago 3
@robert69642 Yes! Reduce the debt balance the budget! Absolutely! No one is against that, and the unions stand ready to help. But Mr. Walker's bill doesn't do that. What it does is removes all meaningful bargaining rights and seriously jepordizes the ability of public employees to organize in the future.
Rather than begrudge others their success, stand with us so that together we can create a better future for all of us and our kids. After all, that's what collective bargaining is all about.
theaj42 1 year ago
@theaj42 I was in a union I know how they work They protect alot of lazy people. And make It near impossible for good people to get jobs with them. But there are laws now to protect workers. the mayor of Wisconsin has the only solution to protect those jobs,CUT BACK.But those union folks are way too greedy to for that. So the picketers, would rather you lay peopleoo. Before you cut back on their benefits. Id like to see a union picket for a person, who just got laid off, But they wont.
robert69642 1 year ago
@robert69642 Why are you saying, "I don't have this, so they shouldn't either", when you should be saying, "they have it, so I should too." I feel bad that you don't have a pension or insurance, and you should have those things, but don't wish that others should be in the misery.
sfldd 1 year ago
@robert69642 most ppl aren't protesting that...they're protesting the fact that teachers are losing their bargaining rights.

Bravo, we need a lot more of this. If they will not listen to our wishes when delivered in a civilized way, we MUST present them more directly.

IMHO I think the protest/rally is a lost cause... The greedy Republicants and their greedy big businiess & corporate donation contributors are determined to destroy the American way of life if it's the last thing they do!
fatoletrucker2 1 year ago
@fatoletrucker2 Whether or not this is a lost cause, we are going to stand up and fight for our rights. The more coverage of this, the better.
