I think it is impossible for uygurs in China to get independence. Only if it is a political interest of third parties USA, Russia, EU. Mongolia declared it's independence in 1911 but the Manchurian heir occupied part of our land (Inner Mongolia)

The interesting thing is, if anyone bothered to check THE FACTS, is the Uighurs are NOT native to the Gulja area, rather it's a native Kazakh area that is 75% Han/Kazakh and around 15% Uighur and apparently one of the major causes of this "massacre" was the MIGRANT Uighurs got involved in ethnic clashes with Han and Kazakhs very similar to 2009 where Uighurs attacked Han and Kazakhs bringing about a reprisals from the Hans/Kazakhs against the Uighurs.

I think it is impossible for uygurs in China to get independence. Only if it is a political interest of third parties USA, Russia, EU. In that case they can get independence as Kosovo did in Serbia, or South Ossetia & Abkhazia in Georgia. However, Georgia & Serbia are small countires politically and economically incapable to provide their territorial integrity, what in case with China, totally opposite.

Many differnt people invaded this land over the centuries including the Chinese Tang dynasty when they defeated the Gokturks in 657 but just 13 years later in 670 the Tibetans kicked the Tang out and took control over the whole area. A hundred years later the Uyghur Empire was established. From than on it is mainly Mongols that rule over this area with the occassional Turkish Khanates etc. Untill the Manchu's in 1884 finally bring it under DIRECT Chinese control.

Yes that is a shamefull thing specially considering that after Mao had invaded the East Turkistân Republic in 1949 it took the Han nazi's untill 1954 before they finally defeated Osman Bator with his brave Kazakhs (the Uyghur had allready surrendered), many Kazakhs fled over the border into Mongolia and that was the end of the East Turkestân Republic. As far as the Kazakhs of Kazakhstân are concerned I fear the Han's intentions for Kazakhstân.

Between Kublai Khan and 17th century Mongolia was a grassland inhabited by herdsmen, than in 17th century Manchuria (not the Han) invaded Mongolia but in 18th and 19th century Russians and Chinese fought about Mongolia. Russians conquered Manchuria and lost it to the Japanese in 1907 who called it Manchukwo. Mongolia declared it's independence in 1911 but the Manchurian heir occupied part of our land (Inner Mongolia)
