RIP Laurie McAllister, a friend of mine from a long time ago - 1982 to be exact, when she was living in Oregon City, Oregon, just outside of Portland where I was living and playing at the time. I remember she had one of the first -if not the first- telephone message machines that I'd encountered & she later told me that when I or anyone called and left a message, that she could listen to it as they spoke. I thought that was so cool.

I remember her as a sweet lady.

In Britain there was also an all female heavy rock group called GirlsSchool. By the way prettypete you are wrong this is not a rock and roll group it is a heavy rock or heavy metal group. Rock and roll is what was played by Chuck Berry and Little Richard.

They were some of the groups who played classic rock and roll in the 1970s as opposed to heavy rock/heay metal/glam rock/. Which didn't appear until around 1968. They are two distinct types of music. In London where I live there are an old style rock and roll band called 'The Hightown Crows' who sadly don't have any music on here.
