Superhero, your mask draws attention to your pronounced eyelids. Have you considered coloring the skin around your eyes with red face paint? I think that would make your eyelids blend in with the mask, and make your eyes stand out. I believe Batman colored his eyes when he was in mask on the TV show. So it's cool for guys to do.
