Well this begs the question - if Bella hits Paul and he phases but her hand is ok, how are they going to justify that in Eclipse when Jake kisses her and she hits him? (with him not even noticing but she hurts her hand???) This is why you have to stick to the book - cause its going to seem like Bella can hit Paul and be ok, but hit Jake and be hurting...
