I understand you are concern because you are Jewish but there's a lot of Jews who visit Somaliland and no problem. Just google Thorn Tree Travel and once on the site go to Africa, from the drop down menu select Somalia, there is huge discussion about Somaliland, visa, Jewish visiting, names...

I have few Jewish friends who are already in Hargeisa, this is their 3rd time visit. I thought first time when they visit they never come back hehehe but they love it!

Actually, "Somalia" is the name the Italians gave to their colony. Somaliland was never a colony,it was a British protectorate.The name of the country after independence was "Jamhuuriyada Somalidda". Unfortunately Said Barre destroyed that country. Now we are 2 separate nations. Somaliland will never rejoin Somalia but we will help our Somali brothers in every way possible. The Arabs have 20 countries,so why cant the Somali people have 2 countries?
