Je me demandais comment as tu fait pour elever le pickup pour l' avoir à la correct distance de les cords, parce-que le p90 est plus bas que le gretschbucker d' origine.
J' espere que mon mauvais francais puisse t' aider! :)
@L0ngLiveRnR you can found P 90 spacers on ebay. I've upgraded a Peavey Rockingham in the Eddie Cochran configuration and i've used a spacer, really more easy to use.
@L0ngLiveRnR Just a cheap GFS found on ebay. But in near future i will changed it for a Lindy Fralin (the same who is installed on the cochran custom shop gretsch)
@Juicefani11 you're right. But the eddie's bigby had a fixed arm and it's not very easy to play with this kind of bigsby that's why i've put this one on the guitar and i've found it on a french web site at a ridiculous price.
@xzxhoobbexzx i've adjust it with plastic part because the dynasonic is smaller than the previous pickup. For the G i've found it on ebay but unfortunately i can't remember the name of the guy. Thanks for your interest and good luck.
well done.I've just put a 50's p90 in mine and it really sounds a lot like the dynatron bridge except more grit and sustain.Messieur cochrane was very smart to do this.It adds some body without interfering with the dynatron twang.
@joriszsz 70 euros for the bigsby, 90 for the dynasonic, 30 for the P90, 40 euros for the bridge, if i remember well 30 euros for the pickguard and at last 40 euros for the tuners.
@The170460 Change out the nylon nut too. I made mine out of mastodon fossilized ivory and get clearer tone and better sustain. Be sure to use a nut lube like nut sauce with this mod as the nut is really rock(remember fossil) to cut down on string breakage and you will be pleased with the results. Mine is a 5122DC. GRETSCH ROCKS.
@graybeard420 thanks for the info. I will changed it in near future. I've also another 5120 with filtertron pick ups i don't like it too much. My favorite is my 3140 historic series with two US dynasonic on it, it's a perfect guitar, good look with cats eyes, excellent finish. It's a koean too but she look like to be made in USA. It's the perfect rock 'n' roll guitar.
@JRFox092 no it's just a 6120. I've changed the pickups, the bigsby, the knobs, the pickguard and the tuners. Look at the headstock it's an electromatic.
Nice one..........did well....... love the look and the sound....you can not go wrong with those Dynasonics...you just cant! ........Thats now a Rockabilly monster!
how did you get the brand on there?

Cool. Looks nice! c8
The most I've done to mine is dice knobs and painted on some 'fake' binding.
I hope to get some tv classics someday though.
collareddove7 11 months ago
@collareddove7 i hav'nt try to paint binding. Your's look nice or no with the paint ?
The170460 11 months ago
@The170460 I looks great with it. All you have to do is take your time and it'll come out perfect.
Then I'd put a coat or two of a sealer so it doesn't ever come off.
If you'd like i could send you a photo of how mine turned out.

@JRFox092 sorry not 6120 but 5120 electromatic
