  • still the best model apart from the fortuner.

  • hi everyone can anyone tell me what T-belt is on the hilux the lights is on

has anyone had this any solutions beacause i coudnt find the right answer on google its a 2007 hilux sr 3.0 D4D

  • @nawras94al

it means your timing belt needs to be replaced!

  • @hendobizle thanks i will try it

  • in australia these models are still too expensive

  • @nawras94al However, you won't have to take them to the mechanics every 2 weeks, and they're rock solid.

For these reason you can resell them at a fair price as well, then you don't really pay more than the competitors.

  • FOR THE LOVE OF GOD BRING IT TO THE UNITED STATES

    !

  • is this the same place you tested the Defender ?

  • Best midsize truck ever!

  • Toyota number 1 ,

  • Ford raptor is way better

  • @woodfootball11 Evidence?

  • Choice of both the Libyan Freedom Fighters and Colonel Ghadafi. Easily carries a heavy twin 50 mm Anti Aircraft gun and masses of ammunition ...

  • Choice of both the Kibyan Freedom Fighters and Colonel Ghadafi. Easily carries a heavy twin 50 mm Anti Aircraft gun and masses of ammunition ...

  • for the love of god please sell this in america

  • i like it

  • Good branding but giving a bad spec. Need to replace timing belt on time. Steel fuel tank and it's hanging below the frame instead of sitting on the frame. Chassis is thin and 7 cross link only. Same engine block as the 2KD-FTV only different on the piston and turbo. Unstable ride, bumpy and floating when highspeed and cornering. The back is high and hard to reversing car. Front brake only single piston caliper and small pads as well as rear small drums. Small size axle and wishbone arms. It's

  • I'm a guy who drives quite fast, I knowing that Hilux failed the moose test I'm looking others places like MItsu or the new ranger t6.

Currently I drive a Mitsu L200 Strada with a lsd in rear and 2000 Pajero and dont have me worried when I go fast around a sharp corner.

  • @Zeus94ify Mate, you must be American. No one, and I mean no one is Oz drives a Hummer off road. In the outback and in the mines they all drive Landcruisers or Hiluxs.

  • how about the triton?

  • @reviva2003 triton has NOTHING on one of these...not saying its a shit vehicle, but you're better off paying a tad more and getting absolute QUALITY, DURABILITY and just plain awesomeness!!! :-)

  • @Zeus94ify Hahahahhahahahahahahahaahah. - Hummer better than Hilux. Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha. Thats a good one.

  • if Toyota sells the Hilux in North America, Ford and GM would go broke.

  • sorry how much is that car? thankyou

  • 4:20 hitting side runner on frame rails

  • nice video nice car thanx

  • @forgotten539 look for beam axle vehicles like nissan patrol or the older hiluxs and landcruisers.

  • @Zeus94ify Same in Australia. Very few vehicles survive our harsh conditions as well as Toyotas. Landrovers would be second on the list. Hummer is way down the list.

Military hummer H1 may be a different story, but they're over the top and ludicrous for general use. (not to mention way too expensive for general use... and too large to drive around town).

  • iQuick coup and uncomfortable

  • @4xforum

Just to back up ma man...dont for get the Might Landrover 110 Defender..if u use a Hummer as an off road vehicle here in Botswana u just making a fool outta urself, better stick to the tarmac if u are to be using those.

  • The Isuzu DMax is Australia's 2009 and 2010 4x4 UTE (or Pickup) of the Year beating the much expensive diesel pickups Toyota Hilux, Nissan Navara, Mitsubishi Strada Triton, Mazda BT-50, and Holden Colorado. According to the magazines, it's one of the cheapest yet it handles way better even in tricky downhills, has ultra-torquey power even at low rpms, it's the most durable, and the most fuel-efficient of them all giving out 12.7 km per litre even when towing almost an 3-tonne boat

  • hummer is good but...better than HILUX.......!!~~

  • Awesome truck, I'm getting mine in 2 weeks!

  • i mean hummer H1.

  • @4xforum also you will need a fuel station every couple miles using a hummer. hummer is waste of metal

  • @Zeus94ify do you say that because it looks better as a poster on your wall? or from experience. hummers are about as good off road as a bmw x5 m sport.

  • @Zeus94ify the hilux conquered the north and the south poles...and an active volcano in iceland...it keeps up with the american military vehicles in the middle east...n yet a hummer which is a joke of a 4x4 is better then it...

  • Question, Is the Hilux in the Caribbean available with diff locks

  • no limited diff rear is a major drawback

  • 0:17 the car has a problem on it's center board

  • lexus wont let you shift to neutral at wot

  • No matter what they said, I love this truck, I LOVE IT!!! I own one! the best buy ever!!

TOYOTA I STILL BELIEVE IN YOU!!

  • So is there a diff lock standed? is it front and back. With a supension lift would it make this hilux very good off road. how reliable are the new d4d 3.0 diesel engines any problems yet? cheers

  • okay ! no comment ! just type this !!! watch?v=aZF8N9NItHI&NR=1

  • get a 1980-1992 hilux with the 3L 2.8 litre diesel engine with solid axles front and rear..... beats the shit out of any new 'utes'

  • @EndangeredSoup Stupid question but what's the 3L for seeing that there's already 2.8 of something

  • @KenanVideos 3L is toyota's engine code for the legendery 2.8 non-turbo they put in the old luxes, the go forever mate! =)

  • have these got diff locks then?

  • @meattube4u33 Plenty of cars are prone to tipping over, that's why you drive carefully. and as for the acceleration people who knew what to do didn't die. Only US drivers died, even though it has happened world wide.

  • @meattube4u33 as if you couldnt put your car in neutral

  • bosts

  • They dont make these in america. =(

  • being a"new hilux" owner i must agree with helenaki8 ....i see smoking navara´s it all the time..............

  • one tire on a mound and the other in a hole? with similar surface on 9meters? what an idiot. He ruined the board.

  • toyota made the hilux engine for more than 500.000 kilometers without problem.

i never see the new hilux smoke on full speed

i see many navara on high speed roads black smoke

  • I saw the moose test about the hilux and it failed to all of the tests ... Especialy the first makes me crazy it says that it can rollover ... I think you should do and some test like this bcz how a truck/suv will be good if it can roll over?

Btw i saw alll your videos there are amazing...

  • I have an 2007 Fortuner, 09 Hilux both are SRVs

  • Triton GLX-R is better...

  • i agree!

  • the nissan navara is way better

  • It is not. Ive Had my hilux stuck in a river with the water past the lights. Water coverd the whole cooling fan, radiator and front end of the engine block. The river was sandy as hell, i never had any problems.

I was lucky water didnt get into the airbox.....if i was in a navara.....it would have sounded like a 500,000 mile dahiatsu!

  • i dont think my navara woudnt be eable to do that either

  • I must admit the navara has a better ride. But both of our cars suffer ground clearance issues.

    Theyre both good cars.

  • you are wrong , i think you have never drive a navara

  • Think what you like to think....

  • ok , just type suv adventure 2009 and see !

  • you are right ! i am with you

  • the hilux is not as good as the mitsubishi l200 any day cause it can haul more and handle fars better than that crap at high speeds when cornering, its also a better offroader

  • I'm thinking of buying a hilux in south america and then driving it here....who is with me?! lol

  • im moving to south america im thinking of buying a toyota fortuner

  • what kinda car is that? there are nissian frontier but nothing called a toyota fortuner

  • Toyota makes a model called the Fortuner in south america....if you type in the name on the search you will see a couple of videos of it....kinda looks like a 4runner

  • you're absolutely right ! why we don't have diesel light pickups is beyond me.

  • they might think not enough buyers? idk

  • I wish these were available in North America! I love diesel trucks, especially ones that can get 30 miles per gallon!!!

  • i m just gonna try the vhiacle, vhiacle is new to us we gonna try it, see where the balance lies wit the vhiacle, see whats vhiacle gonna do....rolf

  • plz...my ford ranger can climb that bump in 2wd!

  • well ur ford ranger is a piese of shit

  • sorry but its "piece"

  • Please don't bring a 'Ford' into 4X4 off roading! There are only two off road cars, the Landrover and Land Cruiser! Americans don't know anything about cars and especially off roading!

  • my ranger isnt american built or designed, its actually a mazda under the ford badging and hate to burst ur bubble but ur beloved land rover copied the first mass produced 4x4, the willy's jeep

  • Under a Mazda? Oh please, don't tell me Italians have got a clue about 4X4s!

  • ahhh mazda is japanese bro

  • who ever thought these people are australian you are stupid

  • Big deal. An 80's AMC Eagle could do the same thing, and it was a car.

  • Toyota is the best.

According to the magazines, it's one of the cheapest yet it handles way better even in tricky downhills, has ultra-torquey power even at low rpms, it's the most durable, and the most fuel-efficient of them all giving out 12.7 km per litre even when towing almost a 3-tonne boat

  • @dtkiko Agreed. However the catch is, out in the bush, miles away from the nearest town, you often find local mechanics who can fix your vehicle. However, they always have Toyota parts at hand. Anything else would be a bit iffy.

It's a chicken and egg problem. You can fix a toyota anywhere in australia. Not so for other makes.

  • @arachn1dinshoe.... G'day mate, from where i live, it's an Isuzu country much like it is also a Toyota country. Just almost anywhere here, anyone knows how to fix Isuzu trucks and pick-ups. The problem i see in other countries, is that they think Toyota is the best but the fact is, it is NOT.... i like it when during those UTE shootouts, Aussies who haven't seen nor heard about the Isuzu DMax approached it with apprehension, YET later on the day, they were hooked big-time by it LOL! Ciao!

  • @dtkiko Really, you think the one mechanic on the gunbarrel hwy stocks Isuzu oil filters? That's the sort of thing i'm thinking about. 9 out of 10 cars out there are going to be hilux or landcruisers. I'm just thinking 'the odds are' toyota parts are more available than other parts.

That's why i describe it as a chicken and egg scenario. D-Max is superior to the Hilux, but that's only been the case for a few years. Hilux holds the market, and that means spares are easily available.

  • @arachn1dinshoe The answer is SIMPLE mate, and the answer is YES! Australia isn't the only country in the world, OK? Lemme reiterate it over and over YES, YES, YES.... the Isuzu is common in Asia. Isuzu is also Japanese brand, and the Isuzu DMax Aussie-, Euro- and Thai-versions are the best 3-litre Japanese "UTE" (or "pickup" or "truck" in American) there is, better than your Hilux, OK? Read about your own Bruce Garland and H. Suzuki who won 1st Place at the 2009 Paris-Dakar on a privateer DMax.

  • @dtkiko you are 100% wrong sorry. lol

  • @waltertan60 NOT really.... Toyota is the best when it comes to RECALLS!

    Ciao!

  • What language do Americans speak? Can I buy an whatever that language is to UK English Dictionary? LLW (Laugh like a Wajang) (Trinidadian English)

  • which country is this from

  • UK or AUS

  • AUS

  • SOUTH AFRICA

  • SOUTH AFRICA, because the hilux is manufactured tjere

  • these things are severely over rated! i have owned 1 and used one for work before!.. they ride like shit! their power is not as good as everyone makes them out to be and they are overpriced! but when you sell them, people come from everywhere, thats the best thing about them...you can sell them!

  • Running boards on a 4x4 ?! If you buy a pick up for what it is intended=working truck ,you do not need running boards, etc

perfect paint, running boards, all that is for urban cowboys.

    tough guys wana- be

Hilux has a rich and long history, and so far the best truck one can buy

  • they help when putting things on the roof rack.

  • eso no sirve

  • I do like it but I never consider to own it..

Its perform well on a smooth terrain but not off road..and I've never seen it on the Dakar rally championship..

  • i'm in love of this car! please give me one! i'll do anything for that!pleaseeeeee

  • where is the diff lock? i didn't know it had it. how do you put it on? please reply!

  • On the land rover, the centre transmission is locked by moving the transfer gearchange lever sideways. On the Toyota, there is an electric switch, to the left of the steering column.

  • Check out its moose test videos...the guys said it is nice and balanced...?

  • That would be the Moose test done at Mitsubishi (look at the buildings) where the Hilux was driven faster and turned in more violently ? Not a true or even representative test.

  • hilux just piss me off..its like a genie in a bottle that havent fully out of it..anyway, lot of turbo lag, very stiff ride when unladen, and the worst is the 4x4,LSD is not aggresive.too poor.SHAME the hilux!!!

  • I have a 4x4 too. it is very powerfull, comfortable...

  • My dad has it...and when I drove it...so much power! A great pick-up, indeed!

  • for the new model hilux.. the road holding is not so good.. coz u see the back of lux is very high...the previous model is better

  • In what country do you live? Every country's Hilux will be built with different spring specifications. Perhaps you have a vehicle very different from the one we get here in South Africa. Did you ever think of that? And why tell me to shut up? Does my opinion offend you?

  • seriously my dad jus bought one and we live in the caribbean imported straight for japan and the hilux is one of the best japanese pickups in the caribbean it does well on all mountanoius terrains

  • seriously my dad jus bought one and we live in the caribbean imported straight for japan and the hilux is one of the best japanese pickups in the caribbean it does well on all mountanoius terrains
