  • I always wondered why Tippy Hedren (or why wasn't in the script better to say) didn't take the hand brake off once she stepped into that wagon & found no key? they were coming down a hill; so therefore if she had pulled out the hand brake, the car would've rolled down to safety isn't it!?

  • creepiest movie evah

  • I love the use of "Risseldy, Rosseldy" to create the false feeling of "all is well." Check out my original song tribute to Hitchcock, which integrates The Birds and other classics. It's called "Here's To Alfred Hitchcock," viewable right here on YouTube. Just click on my name below or search "CraigASilver."

  • lol the teachers take one of the kids in a car while the others get screwed with the birds?

  • WTF is the song children are singing supposed to mean? "and she roll and she wall and she roll and she wall and she roll and she wall and she roll and she roll and she roll and she wall and she NA NA NA"?

  • I would just grab the fucking bird and break him in half if he was chewing on my head

  • love the song the nigger children are singing

  • I love Alfie-he's fav writer

  • God, those kids are running like they WANT to attacked

  • i had the same type of experience but on on the gay beach in asbury park nj. it started with one lesbian then two lesbians then three then six then twelve before i knew it i was overcome by a murder (flock) of lesbians spitting throwing footballs and playing pro kadima lol

  • Nothing like a nice game of angry birds...

  • why were the birds so angry again?

  • lol. The Birds is so laughable.

"I wan't you to go as quietly as possible. Don't make a sound until I tell you to run."

When I say the word "run", lose your shit.

  • The music from star wars ruined it.

  • @joemetfan24 You expect them to stay there !?

  • They're not running that fast xD

  • I love this film. But I gotta admit. The camera views from the side showing the kids running from the birds looks really fake.

  • Why didn't they just stay inside?

  • I live in Healdsburg which is an hour away from bodega bay and each time i go there i visit the church that this was filmed at

  • at first i thought i would easily kick those birds' asses... but on a second thought, while i'm killing one of them, i would have like a dozen more around me trying to pierce my eyes out... so under the circumstances... MAKE WAY AND RUN FOR YOUR LIFE!!!!!!

  • i dont see wat was wrong with the building...

  • they should remake hitchcock's films but then again they're classic and shouldn't be remade.

  • 0:00 - 0:50 Here's the explanation of the whole movie : the birds got FUCKIN PISSED with the stupid kids'song looped over and over again !

What are they saying anyway ?

La laaa lalaaa lalaaa lalaaaa, wapeetee wapeetee nya nya nya !

    SHUT UP,FOR CHRIST'SAKE !

  • Ok children, here's the plan... you run out as bait and we'll escape. clear?

  • If this happened now a days people would put up their hoodies, spray the birds with deodrant or run into one of the nearby homes.

  • Dumb question: Why did they leave the school house?! Isn't that, like, the safest place to be?

  • @JoeCoolFreeman - They were breaking through windows in the movie. There were huge windows in the schoolhouse.

  • @tadsgirl Well, point taken. But they weren't even attacking the school. They went after the kids once they were outside. And besides that, why didn't the children walk calmly into town instead of running. You'll notice the birds attacked once the kids started running.

  • @JoeCoolFreeman - You are correct! But the scene wouldn't have been as dramatic. And let me tell you, that scene spooked me as a child. Although not as badly as the carousel scene in "Strangers on a Train".

  • @tadsgirl Haven't seen that movie. But in all honesty, and nothing against those who were scared by this movie and like it, I did not think this movie was scary. I thought it was stupid. The story is stupid. The writing is stupid. The characters are stupid. The concept is stupid. The cinematography is amazing and the effects are good for the time this movie was made, I'll give it that.

I love Hitchcock, don't get me wrong. But I thought this movie was his weakest by far.

  • @JoeCoolFreeman - A lot of it was the time. You kind of had to be there. Watching it now, it's not so scary. Back then and as a child, it was terrifying.

  • Filme de 1963!

  • Love this scene, but in reliality if the school had to close early wouldn't the kids be like "WAHOO! YES!"

  • @evilgalorereturns Well, Miss Hayworth only told the children that it was a fire drill. The children were probably puzzled by her directions to go home if they lived nearby.

  • I guess it would have ruined the movie if they had just not gone outside?

  • i wish i knew the song

  • have a seen where a bird is about to attack a child and says " alright clay pigeon permission to engage hostile's permission granted falcon

  • FASTER BAMBI! DON"T LOOK BACK!!! KEEP RUINNING KEEP RUNNING!!

  • Apparently common sense wasn't used in the 60's. In film and in war!

  • @TheOrleansLasVegas yes that's actually the only song that was created for the movie!

  • why would someone so stupid put like an entire school in danger by running into a swarm of killer ravens? they were safe in the school house! that's really stupid of the teacher and anyone else who came up with that stupid idea! don't you think?

  • @nicholaskingmequeen First of all, Melanie's concern was that the school had many windows and the birds could easily get in and trap the kids in the building. Second, they are running away from the ravens, not toward them. Third, have you ever even watched the movie!?

  • Very good! Excellent!

  • my teacher said that movie was funny

  • @dudesterism My recent experience w/ a crow makes this movie seem like a documentary.ararar

  • Cryptozoology novel about two boys who find something strange on the beach one night see video book trailer

  • so the birds where all gathering and waiting for the kids to go out for recess? (ambush attack)

that alone is just creepy when you think about it.

  • 3.37 ahahahahahhahaahahahah the ginger getting raped in the face looked soo fucking funny

  • This is a great example of why we should never touch a master's piece of work, be it Hitchcock or Twain. They knew what they were doing and we're all just a bunch of amateur's wanting to steal the spotlight.

  • I'll bet teacher, Mrs Hayworth secretly sprinkled bread crumbs on the students heads. She probably wanted an early retirement.

  • I'll be like Dane cook. F*** birds. Punch all the birds in the face. F*** you bird! Okay, where's the next bird...

  • it started off well but then it became too much

  • it would be a movie worth watching over and over

  • Lmao why do they wanna leave outside XD isnt it safe inside

  • why are the children upset when the teacher tells them they have to get out????? that's not realistic!! XD

  • It's so obvious that there were no kids present when Suzanne Pleshette is supposedly talking to the class. The kids reactions feel like the work of a really bad second unit director. Stuff like that really dates the film.

  • interesting...

  • A bit over the top ,,,don't ya think!

  • i live there :] thats by bodega bay california santa rosa ;)

  • It's interesting to hear the birds with music, and I think it fits quite good as well. But even so, one of the best things with the movie is the absence of music. This makes it different from other films, and in my opinion makes the film more intense and eerie. I think its better when all we hear during the exciting scenes is the chilling sounds of wings flapping and gulls screaming. So this movie is better off without music. But a well made and intresting video, though :)

  • @Sixpackman93: This is not a good video because the music is not timed to the scene. There is a video of the final climatic scene where there is symphonic score written especially for the scene. youtube.com/watch?v=Lw0FP9putKM

  • The main actress, Melanie, kept her high-heeled shoes on as she ran for her life.

  • i love how they gently push them away. just grab em by the neck and give a big squeeze its that easy to kill a damn bird

  • Why should it be John Williams when there was Bernard Herrmann ?

  • amazing the shite you can do with a blue screen aint it

  • This is one of the classic scenes from the film.

  • SCHOOL'S OUT FOR SUMMER!!!!!!

  • COPY AND PASTE THIS TO AT LEAST 10 VIDEOS! Or else those crows are gonna come and pluck your eyes out when you're asleep! Ha Ha Ha. LOL

No. Just kidding around. Happy Halloween Everyone!!

  • What's the point about taking the kids out of the school if they were safe in there?

  • I actually think you did a good job with this. But it reminds me, when we were kids and saw this scene at the drive-in, we thought it was so funny. Kids being chased by crazy pecking birds. hahaha

  • how about a shotgun?

  • wow their just birds. im watching this in school tomorrow and it doesnt look even that scary

  • you should of had SCHOOOOOLS OUT FOR EVERRRRRR SCHOOOOOOOLS OUT FOR SUMMMERRR!!! well sucks to be you im doing that ;]

  • You chose music that does not work and that is not edited to the film. The art of film composing is writing music to picture. You have to time the music to a split second (24 frames per second). If you simply plaster music that was not written for the scene hoping to undercover some unique way to view a scene, it will not work. Again, I wrote a symphonic score to two scenes and had a 95 piece full symphony orchestra record it. You judge for yourself. watch?v=6-CRkq5zjfI&NR=1

  • This part started a few minutes earlier. Tippi Hedren is sitting out in the playground. First there was just one or two birds, then the camera goes about the town; and when it comes back, there are a few more. The camera leaves agin, and when it returns, there are a few more, until there is a shitload of birds. One of the scariest movies ever made.

  • Take a look at my video of The Birds watch?v=6-CRkq5zjfI&NR=1. I recorded the last attack scene with a full size symphony orchestra back in 1992. Tippi Hedren called the score to her famous "thrilling" and "exciting". I met her at her Shambala Ranch back in 1993. I also scored the opening title with the same orchestra.

  • what happened 2 all the other kids?

  • thats why we hunt birds :)

  • @TheAnamies thats why we have murders so you could kiss there ass lmao

  • that teacher was gawjuss.. n i think if they would have just walked out quietly the birds wouldnt have chased them.

  • Much better without the music.

  • THE BIRDS: WHEN THERE WAS NO FX OVERLOAD BULLSHIT...

  • very cool experiment...I liked it. This is one of my all time fav. movies and I think partly because there was no music soundtrack to begin with...but you might be on to something...well done

  • i loled at the music

  • Stupid with the music.

  • @JaneyWaney9 Maybe I should have played School's Out from Alice Cooper? hehe....anyways, I'm sorry you feel that way. It was just an experiment.

  • @wannabefilms dont listen to janeywaney this was very well done.

  • Jerry Goldsmith would have been a better choice. Hell, just pick any of his Omen scores. He even scored for ravens in the second movie.

  • what a total green screen for potter school house

  • This film is about what happens...WHEN YOU FUCK WITH NATURE :D

  • @TheCGIMaster lol those birds were pissed that day cuz some kid threw a rock at them

  • The Music makes it more exciting!

    WELL DONE!!!

  • The lady looks like paris hilton

  • I think the scene is more terrifying without music.

  • damn birds really messed up her perfect hair!! Damned birds!!

  • Sometimes the soundtracks are so loud in the theatre, I can't hear the dialogue. Silence can be a good sound too.

  • nice that piece definitely adds suspense to the scene

  • Hitchcock's a twisted genius. I'm glad he was on our side.

  • Don't know if it's what you intended, but this shows me how rancid most film music can be, how it can ruin scenes. We are supposed to like the crap Williams and Zimmer and Horner and the rest write, and most use it as a crutch.

What makes movies like this special is that they don't tell us what to think and feel every minute with the soundtrack. Maybe the reason some dislike this marvelous movie, and 'No Country for Old Men', is because they don't have that crutch that weak audiences prefer...?

  • i hear there making this like in 2013 or something

  • HOLY SHIT! How did they get into the echto 1 without the key? And also, why did they even leave the school?

  • how hard is it to kill a bird's ass?!

  • Birds Of A Feather

  • get the slow ones

  • @dreemfinder Thanks for your comment. I DO know about Herrmann using not a traditional score but applying bird sound effects based on Hitchcock's suggestions. And I was not trying to demonstrate how much "better" this movie is with a score added to it. This was merely an experiment to produce a DIFFERENT (not better) outcome. I was only having fun here...and not trying to reinvent the wheel.

  • flock of birds vs. flock of kids

  • Clever. But not as clever as Mr. Hitchcock, who knew that a musical score would only detract from the desired effect, and so used only electronically-produced bird sounds. It would appear that you proved him right.

  • why were they pissed to leave school?????

  • @ratne02 They weren't pissed, they were confused as to why.

  • The stampede music from the Lion King might work

  • best special effects evar

  • I'm so scared of this movie. I'm so scared of birds. But, I had to admit, thats very good music background.

  • swarm of crows=murder.

  • thems birdies was mean

  • Does anyone think it's unlikely that a community has one classroom with children of about the same age? I taught for 30 years and would have loved to have a class like that one. I wouldn't want to end up like Annie Hayward though. :-)

  • Bird Wars 2: Attack of the Crows

  • The Birds and Piranha are my favorite of the "Swarm" movies

  • everytime i watch this scene i get really disturbed and my heart starts pounding. I dont know why though. lol

  • a lil ddt should do them birds some good

  • This is a little demeaning to Alfred Hitchcock. His intent was for the sounds of the birds to be, in effect, the musical soundtrack for the movie. And it worked. It created more tension especially in the scene where Melanie (Tippi Hedren) is trapped in the bedroom.

  • Gotta love the Star Wars music.

  • I agree with the last comment; they should stay inside the school...This scene is classic! And that girl, Cathie - so boring! But the song during they running - I didn´t know!

  • this is why we have school busess

  • ujjjujujujjjujujjjujuuujujujujujjuju!!! :D

  • Look 3.37!! GINGER!! :D

  • Oh, God, MAKE THE MUSIC STOP!!!

  • Check out the little girl wearing the white sweater in the backround @ 3:29 boy did she ever turn on the jets. Smoked everyone haha

  • @sftigers LMAO!!! she was hawling ass!!! haha that made my day.

  • @sftigers LOL, some sharp sight you got!

  • @sftigers LMAO!!!!!!!!!

  • pretty lady , and good movie, still is

  • @bigweeniegenie14

It wasn't safe at the school because of the large windows that the birds could easily break.

The school scene follows the scene where the birds attacked a farmer in his home by breaking the windows to get in...then the birds pecked his eyes out.

  • Huge windows + Birds that break windows = Death toll near 30 or 40.

  • @bubbawhale Ohhhh, I didn't know they could break windows lol! Usually when birds run into the windows at my house or school they fail; so bad. Or die from a broken neck! :P

  • @bigweeniegenie14 ummm because the birds would have broken through the windows like in the rest of the film. Genius.

  • @bigweeniegenie14 it wouldn't of been safe in the school there were too many windows they would have eventually broken in if you've seen the movie you should know they pointed that out

  • @bigweeniegenie14 HAVEN'T YOU SEEN THE FILM?! THEY COME THROUGH THE WINDOWS!!! :L

  • @bigweeniegenie14 In the house earlier they came through the windows, doors and chimney. What is to stop them entering this way.

  • @bigweeniegenie14 because they would have crashed through the windows.

  • @bigweeniegenie14 it's not safe you idiot, the place is sorounded by glass windows. watch the movie.

  • @InspectorWeebl there's no need for name calling. you fucking cunt.

  • @bigweeniegenie14 then they would just break inside with breaking the windows ..<.<

  • I fucking punch those little fuckers and throw their asses. Not run and push them off.

  • All you need is a tennis racquet and a few stones, then no more birds!

  • i love love love love love this seen in the birds, i always hav. i love hitchcock!!!!! this is my fav seen of all time. goes great with the music, but u just couldnt hear the silence of the seen that well, and that is a big part of that scene. all the silence. good though!

  • @olifiggsify its spelled SCENE...u dumbass

  • i mispelled it once, anyway, did u expect me to look through my writing bfore i posted it?

  • @Ker3000

    It's*

    You*

    Dumb ass*

If you're going to criticize other people for their spelling I suggest you at least check your own before you post it. :)

  • @naomie74 bitch we are on the muthafuckin internet...it's called text slang dumb bitch

  • @Ker3000 Then why did you feel you had to correct olifiggsify if it's just text slang? :D

  • @naomie74 bitch stfu dat shit aint have nothin 2 do with u fuckin trollin ass hoe

  • @Ker3000 English wasn't even my first language and I know it better than you :/

    Lol.

  • @naomie74 bitch i speak proper english but stupid cunts like u bring out the ghetto side dumb hoe

  • i like how they dead straight left all those kids behind to get in that car

favorite scene in the birds...so good

  • Heres a question.. Am I crazy or is there a few seconds missing from this movie. I distinctly remember the children leaving the school and walking very quietly with Tippi looking back slowly. Then the birds suddenly get spooked by something and THEN they attack.. yet everytime I watch this it never shows that clip..hmmm does anyone else remember that??

  • @khykhy i saw that 2 and the birds on the little metal bar skipped i wonder y they took thosse parts out

  • too bad thay dident have eny flame throwers!

  • What if John Williams (Star Wars, E.T., The Towering Inferno) had composed this film? "

....Um it would sound like every other carbon copy, cookie-cutter, action music piece John Williams has composed.

Don't get me wrong, I love J. Williams, but let's face it, you can take a lot of his scores any interchange them with any other film he's done and the effect would be the same.

(Noteworthy exceptions would be Jaws and Schindler's List)

  • i would grab one of those birds and STRANGLE THE SHIT OUT OF IT. then throw it down to the ground and crush it till its no more than useless fuck. then rape it.

  • whilst you got killed?

  • huh?

  • Um...Hitchcock doesn't use any musical soundtrack throughout the film on purpose. The children's singing (if you watch the whole scene, you'll have a better idea) and the sound of the birds is enough. No thanks.

  • did any one besides me notice that the kids the camera got a close up shot of weren't running down the hill to begin with? If you didn't notice, watch the school attack scene carefully.

  • wouldn't it been easier to just keep the kids in school and wait for help?

The Birds would have been more destructive if they just craped on everyone.

    Pigeon shit anyone?

  • I wish I had a teacher as sexy as Susanne Pleshette.

  • @littlelouie11

I hear that! HOT damn Suzanne Pleshette was fine.

  • @KiCreativeStudios i USE TO FUCK WITH THAT BITCH

  • 2:31 LEEEROOOOOYY JEEENKIIINSSS!

  • she is trying to warn children !!!!!''be aware of the birds''!

  • There's something odd about how this movie was flimed...IDK mabye I'm just used to "now uh day" fliming.

  • The school looks so "ominous" to begin with! (reminds me of the "Bates" house in Psycho).

I like the "score", while she's warning the teacher, however, once they're all running outside, I think it's more suspenseful "without" it.

  • How come all actors sound so....fake?

  • can you buy this film on dvd?

  • brilliant

  • thanks just what i want for my homework

  • same were doing it for our coursework in yr 10 need to hand it in monday

  • Excellent choice -- it works. Of course, one of the things I love best about The Birds is its complete absence of musical scoring. But still -- excellent choice, good timing.
