@zimmermanzs RM's are nothing compared to SEAL teams. they may be a "special operations quality force" just like the USMC MEU is special operations capable but nothing close in comparison. SEALS training is more intense and extensive and the drop out rate is among the highest of any spec ops school in the world. RM and USMC infantry units and USMC recon would be a better comparison. compare SEALS with Delta or SAS or whatever

The Royal Marines are far much more stricter and disciplined, that is why the RM are renowned for their eliteness in training and fighting and are respected by all. Theres no messing around and no joking about, we are killing machines that are trained not to flinch in combat. We respect our american mates, to the RM i say BEAST IT LADS!! and to the US i say GET SOMEEE!!!

The Royal Marines have far more training and experience than the US Marines. They are superior at what they do. However, US Marines are still very good at what they do.

A us marine wouldnt even make it into the royals, even after his training. Royal marines are commandos, us marines are not. @andy1992uk jesus, u brits dont know a whole lot about ur american counter parts do you? the marine physical fitness test for the run part is a perfect score of 18:00 min and the lowest of 28:00. depending on the age of the marine is usually the reason for the 28:00 limit. for a new marine that time is unacceptable and would not be tolerated amongst the battalion. US marines are constantly training in infantry tactics year round in all environments. just because ur run time is different...(cont)

Royal marine entry is 23.00 fact. Basic training in british army is 24 weeks basic, royals 32 weeks and usmc 13 weeks. Each soldier in the british must specialize in another feild, like sniper, enginer, medic, us soldiers are just grunts and inprofesional. Just the other week a us marine was pising on bodies

Weeks 1-6 Individual skills, drill, weapons training, fitness and fieldcraft. Weeks 7-21 Team skills, endurance training including long runs, patrolling skills. Weeks 22 - 24 Live firing and battle camp at Sennybridge in Wales .
From the official website. Above is phase 1, phase 1 and 2 must be completed to qualify, phase 2 varies on what is chosen usually 2-5 weeks.

@Mattcowan123 and 1.5+1.5 is.....? Yes 3 miles, they do one after the other! First 1.5miles is done in 12.30 then 30 second water brake then the other must be done in 10. This is at 2% incline. Even if you include the 30seconds its 3 miles in 22.30. vs 28.00 fact!
