I know but these years contenders have so good costumes that is not easy to choose wich film has the best costumes. I put The affair of the necklace in 5th position because from all the films nominated it was the only one I though did not bring something new to the world of film costumes.
I mean, Moulin Rouge pratically reinvented the expression stylized costumes, Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter's designers created new cultures of clothing and Gosford Park showed an incredibly accurate 30s wardrobe that matches the mood of the film and opens a time window to the 1930s. The Affair of the Necklace just showed the audience another slightly stylized rococo wardrobe, perfectly designed by Milena Canonero that prooved once more she can pull out a perfect 8th century wardrobe
Don't get me wrong I loved The Affair of the Necklace costumes but the competition was just to strong to put it higher than any of the other nominees. And I have a soft spot for 1930s clothes.

I agree with you! I used the song Come What May from the soundtrack of Moulin Rouge! It's sang by Nicole Kidman and Ewan McGregor.

Hmmm, I haven't seen The affair of the necklace but I think 5th place is too low.
