We need to cut the health and retirement benefits for politicians. "Public servants" my ass! Pardon my language, politicians get the best of everything and only have to be elected for one term to be eligible. All politicians should get a base salary that is no higher than the average American salary. How many of these people would be providing public service then. By the way, I EARNED every little benefit I got from my active duty service. My 4 years didn't get me lifetime pay and bennies.

It's possible to behave "heroically" while in military service, but the vast majority of soldiers are not.-It's a job. I have seen videos that show the military is pressuring soldiers injured in the line of duty in to waving their rights to benifits due to their injury.The military is also claiming that a lot of soldiers that are hurt in the line of duty already had these injurys prior to inlisting that way the military/government doesnt have to pay them.They care enough to send you to war but not take care of you after its over,they will send you off to kill and possibly DIE so they can MAKE MONEY.JUST SAY NO!!

The oil has been leaking because there were two wells drilled. Soldiers always get screwed by the government. To call their benefits welfare of any kind is a slap in the face just as labeling social security and medicaid "entitlements" after deducting them from every one's pay. Current recipients of SS and Medicare benefits are paid by the current tax payers. The SS "trust fund" is every person who pays taxes. They are entitlements, strictly speaking. What else do people expect when the government forces them to do something "for their own good."

Oil is staining the piers and concrete along the shoreline . Crews have added so much sand to some resort beaches that it is level with the dock past the entry . There is no clean up , the corexit sank the oil to the bottom of the Gulf , where it is still laying . They couldn't plug up the leaks because they have caused long fractures in the seabed . The Gulf may never recover (not in our life time ) and there are still idiots swimming int this toxic mess with tar balls floating around them.
