Hey there! I am dying to play this in eyefinity, I got 3 screens, 24 inch 1920x1080, but when I put my graphics on FSX on highest, it only stretches the game, it doesn't give my FOV bigger, it's a real pain, how can I solve this?
That looks altogether beautiful. So tempted to go eyefinity myself, but it would come at a cost. Is it worth it? It looks worth it xD Also can you recommend a decent monitor?
@MajorJonesy Eyefinity can still be a little fidgety with some games. Not all games run smoothly with Eyefinity (the Bethesda games Fallout & Oblivion come to mind). But sim games tend to run just fine with it. I have yet to play any flight or racing sim that doesn't work perfectly with eyefinity. You just need to make sure that you have the video card power to push x3 times as many pixels as usual. As for screens, just try to find some with thin bezels. I wouldn't go beyond 1920x1200 per screen
@noderunnermiles I'm running 3 1920x1200 screens, which comes out to 5760x1200 resolution for Eyefinity. That is a lot of pixels. I have very high end hardware, and I can't push most games to their max settings with eyefinity. Forget about using anti-aliasing with eyefinity. If you are used to pushing the graphics settings to the max with your games, eyefinity might not be worth it for you. If you can't afford really high end hardware, I would recommend smaller resolutions per screen (1600x1200)
@noderunnermiles Thanks man. Came down to the U2311h in the end, but only 1 for now. Will try for Eyefinity when budget allows and when the tech is a bit more mainstream.
Great set up!! Watching these videos (home flight sims) has inspired me to build my own. I have a set up with 3 x 24" monitors with (2) XFX HD 5850 crossfire, and I can't get my screen to look like yours. I've made changes to the CFG file (WideViewAspect = True) but that didn't change anything. How do you get your FSX cockpit view in full screen and look so fluid like? When I tried to do this ( full screen mode) it looks like my face is smashed up against the front windshield.
just started using ATI 5870. Only problem I have with a 3 monitor setup is in full screen. In full screen I get a clone of the virtual cockpit on each monitor. The only way I can use it is to alt-enter out of full screen and then stretch that across all three monitors, then I end up with the tool bar at the bottom and the menu tabs at the top. Does anyone have a work around for this in order to use the full screen across all 3 monitors
I have ATI6870 and currently one Dell ST2310 monitor. My setup is currently minimal and hope to progress better when I receive hopefully next paycheck.
Does it run well with only 1 Video card ? (I notice that you run only 1 on the vid) Is it Max setting?
Also interested in your logitec joystick....... got any tips ?
Very Nice mate! I'm looking at setting up something very similar. Didnt know about the TrackIR 5 but sounds freaking awesome, way better then having to use a hat stick! Thanks for a great vid :D
@JETP1L0T Yeah, TrackIR 5 is EPIC. Look it up, Cessna 1534 has some vids about it. (And speaking of IT'LL BE HERE IN 6 DAYS SHIP FASTER UPS, SHIP FAAASTER!!!
For fun with the heavies, suggest using smething called "Multi Crew Experience" (for which there is a free demo). Voice control for FSX and FS9. Kiss goodbye to the keyboard and mouse. Google it up, LOL! :-))
@ucshrek Thats the logitech 940. Amazing i think. really good forcefeedback. If you take a plane and crudely roll it left, then right and try to center it as you do... you cant :p if you are not prepared. because of the momentum rolling from hard left to right it slams your joystick to the right :) I havent tried the new saitek but i don't think i would want to use a joystick which doesnt *move* Maybe in fighter jets this is the way but i want to feel the crate.
Only in games that support TrackIR. You can get a list of every game that supports it and to what degree on their website. The only FPS games that I am aware of that support TrackIR are:
ArmA, ArmA 2, and the "Insurgency" mod for Half Life 2.
One last question. You need one monitor with a display port on the back, or can you use a different input like a usb? I don't see too many monitors sporting a display port plug.
Thanks! When I made the video, it was with only 1 card. I now have 3 cards in my machine, but mixing Eyefinity with Crossfire (Crossfire = using multiple video cards) is a bit of a mess right now. The latest drivers allow you to use 2 cards with Eyefinity, but nothing more than that so far. I have to disable my third card in order to play any game in Eyefinity mode. I'm hoping for future drivers to fix this, because it is badly needed for more intense games.
hey man nice video, love the setup. quick question... why on earth are you still at 3.8ghz on a watercooled rig? get to the magical 4ghz (just some friendly advice :D) which i7 are you using?
would love to see more eyefinity videos, looks great!!!
Hello. When I stress test my CPU to the limit, 3.8ghz is about where I'm comfortable with CPU temperature at maximum load. I could push it further but that will start limiting the lifespan of my CPU. I'm not all that concerned with CPU speed anyway, since modern games are much more GPU limited than CPU, and pushing 3.8ghz to 4 won't help gaming performance at all.
My FSX installation limits me to display size of 1920X1200 and I have a triple monitor setup just like this. How do you tell FSX to use all the screen space?
yo dude, can you do a video with everything on high including traffic in a dense area, maybe like new york, something like that, and if you will do one, id also like to see the traffic on high, tnx, awesome rig and vid btw.!!! :)
i have it set to unlimited i think i figured it out i had my ati ccc 3d setting sliders all on quality i turned my aa to 4 times and turned triple buffering off and iam getting like 30-65 fps with level d 767
Awsome!!! This is exactly my dream Sim setup. What kind of CPU are you useing?? Try X-Plane 9 or just using FSX?? Looking forward to see more Videos from you ;-)
Thanks. I'm using a Core i7 2.6Ghz CPU that is water-cooled and overclocked to 3.8Ghz. I only have a demo for X-Plane and right now it's crashing on me every time I try to play it in triple-screen mode, so I'm hesitant to buy it.
i ve had this card for a few weeks now and i didnt see a big differance in fps over the 4890 i thinking i dont have it tweaked right do you use your cc settings or do you turn them off

My dad has been dreaming of something like this. I don't think I can convince him to buy a 5870 nor 3 25" monitors.

Also, what do you use for a display port connector to output to 3 monitors?
Znobyrd 1 year ago
Two of the monitors are using DVI, and one is using display port.

If you're using Eyefinity, one of your three monitors has to be connected via DisplayPort.

There is a graphics setting in FSX that limits your FPS. I think it is set to 20 by default. It sounds like you may have this enabled?
