Anyone who thinks metalcore is metal is an ignorant slut. There are things that make metal what it is (based on the musical theory). Metalcore is a form of HARDCORE and takes very few elements of metal but the music writing itself is NOT related to metal in almost all ways. Even metalcore fans will tell u that its not metal. Most metalcore kids dont even listen to true metal.

Similarly, Nu-metal is not true metal, may contain some elements but not enough to be considered what is really metal.
