The truth is anyone who has a 4x4 V8 1/2 ton and the balls to be smart about what they are doing could probably do the same thing. It doesn't really matter whether it's a Dodge, Ford, or Chevy. The key is slow and steady on the throttle, w/ a small amount of brakes to reduce tire spin. As long as the truck makes good torque, and has a smart driver, it should do this. I've seen a '96 V6 Chevy 2WD pull a 32' gooseneck with 18 round bales on it. The key is to not get in a hurry.
@UthersLastOrder this dodge wasnt built to pull dumptrucks for one, so yes, its lacking torque. But it also produces more hp and torque than the silverado or f150. so saying it doesnt have the performance as a ford or chevy is an understatement. They're all about the same. We've used dodges with the hemi engines as work horses and they get the job done. And to everyone else, My dd is an 01 F250. Im not trying to sound like a"fan boy" as ive heard. Sure the hemi is decent engine, but Ram has one of the shittiest power trains of all time. lol i did that with a 74 valiant with a hemi 265 (Australian) truck got stuck in the middle of the freeway doing a u turn i pulled over to help i had some chain with 2' links about 7/16' thick by 30 feet after the initial shock of seeing the chain he said he would need a truck to pull him out i told him a standard the 265ci= 203hp mine was about 250ish we will give it a try , shortly after that he was on his way :D (I had the chain cos i had just helped a mate get his car that was boged)

@LazerRedGT for the record my dad has all but one of those trucks and the only reason he got rid of the 3rd gen was because my cousin needed a farm truck. All combined they have a total of 1.1 million miles and only one engine rebuild. Mine just rolled over 200,000 so if you count mine in its 1.3 million miles. Any vehicle can go that far if you take care of them.
I've been in a wreck I've owned 2 Dodge rams my first I totalled in a very bad wreck and was not wearing my seat belt but I learned my lesson. They are very safe end of story
If you have a 4wd with decent tires and traction with low range, you should be able to do this. A man i know hooked to a Schneider rig pulling glass and he was in a 2.7 Tacoma. Gas station parking lot, cleared, and the rig was on solid ice. No proof, but i also have nothing to gain by lying. Point-traction, low range, 4wd.
The new fords look a little retarded. I can't afford to buy any of them much less try to put fuel in them. I have been a MOPAR person for over 50 years and will not change even though I can't afford any of them. My last 2 were 98 show Durango in the US and a 01 Durango I had in Kuwait. Trucks are not designed for speed, they're designed for brute force, towing and hauling (as one can imagine) so the key factor here is a little force called TORQUE. @DuckAndDodge05 While dodge does have the styling, what it doesn't have is the performance of the other 2. Fact is chevy or ford had the crew had one woulda pulled that truck out easier. Also when towing something that heavy, horsepower's the last thing you need, you'll just spin the tires like this ram did. You want torque, delivered across a smooth powerband.

Also, that same truck with the chevy badges, made in Korea is actually a datsun..with chevy badges. It'll even have the datsun logo up under the hood somewhere. But I'm just throwing that out there. lol i did that with a 74 valiant with a hemi 265 (Australian) truck got stuck in the middle of the freeway doing a u turn i pulled over to help i had some chain with 2' links about 7/16' thick by 30 feet after the initial shock of seeing the chain he said he would need a truck to pull him out i told him a standard the 265ci= 203hp mine was about 250ish we will give it a try , shortly after that he was on his way :D (I had the chain cos i had just helped a mate get his car that was boged)

@LazerRedGT for the record my dad has all but one of those trucks and the only reason he got rid of the 3rd gen was because my cousin needed a farm truck. All combined they have a total of 1.1 million miles and only one engine rebuild. Mine just rolled over 200,000 so if you count mine in its 1.3 million miles. Any vehicle can go that far if you take care of them.

If you have a 4wd with decent tires and traction with low range, you should be able to do this. A man i know hooked to a Schneider rig pulling glass and he was in a 2.7 Tacoma. Gas station parking lot, cleared, and the rig was on solid ice. No proof, but i also have nothing to gain by lying. Point-traction, low range, 4wd.

Its weird, my car weighs 3500Lbs and has Goodyear Eagle F1 All season tires as thick as Audi R8 tires, but i was wondering if i'd be able to tow like this. I'm not a "ricer" Seeing as how my car doesnt have a wing and i dont trash it with stickers. I just do internals and a few aftermarkets. Trucks are not designed for speed, they're designed for brute force, towing and hauling (as one can imagine) so the key factor here is a little force called TORQUE. And I don't think your car would produce the amounts of torque that this Hemi 8-cylinder makes. And a ricer is a car built buy a Japanese company (as they grow rice in Japan) so its rather fair that someone calls your car a ricer.Sorry.

Most of the car is steel anyway, since it weighs 3500lbs for a reason. 3.8L Top in its class V6 with steel forged pistons. I've done 3.4Secs on a 0-60 with wheel spin. Hard to control the FWD. Wish it was AWD like the Evo.

A regular Evo X will do a 0-60 faster with just 300HP. And an FQ400 Version will destroy a Ford GT off the line. Even though i love the Ford GT.
