actually your newest vid is pretty good for skating. Is that why you quit bmx? skating is def easier I'll admit but biking has way more tricks all skate tricks are flips and foot placement so they're pretty easy to get down....

I used a Canon HG20 and i upload to my iMac and edited it with iMovie. The new HD footy is usually a AVCHD format which can be difficult to edit on older slower computers. What problem are you having?
