Jailbroken does slow it down but the 3rd generation would outrun it any day even if the 3rd generation was filled up to 32GB of jailbroken stuff and applications etc.

I love my iPod touch 1G... it's been with me almost every day since December 1, 2007

OMG, I love it, but I wouldn't mind upgrading to a 2G, not an iPod touch 3G, all you get is space upgrade, and NO CAM OR MIC

If and when I do upgrade, I'm going to drain the power and neatly pack my 1G back into it's box, and put it in my closet :)

If you have a jailbroken iPod touch then you'de know that RAM is problem.

The new 32gb and 64gb models have double RAM. Sbsettings says I got 171MB free and I got theme and 8 pages of apps.

Space is great.

Speed is amazing. Imagine everything you do, and it loads about 4x faster.

No more lag in 3d games!

Haha, I did this with my iPod touch 1G and my iPhone 3GS. I completely wiped the touch and the iPhone had 8 pages of apps and 20GB of songs and videos, yet it was still about 3 times faster than the touch.

Did you get the 64GB one?
