the average vessel has a 25 year fatigue life . its like cycles on an aeroplane take off landing it helps keep all of us safe . because the sea has a damaging effect on a ship over time ships still sink from structural failure .
You are mainly right, but Finnjet when left Finland (2005) were in really good condition. She have been repaired, painted and rebuilt from inside. Even at Alang 2008 before beaching her hull were ok and without damages.
But actually scrapping her was just pointless.. Only good thing in the scrapping is her 1A Super ice breaker class which have cost Alang over 7 million to scrap her so far :D
OK to post this, but do you think people like watching it, keeping in mind that people really tried to save her?! (although they were amateurs) [No hard feelings...]
