  • The song is not Romanian (it doesn't even sound close to Romanian folk music), but Gypsy and became well known to Russian spectators when was included in Russian movie: Tabor Uhodit v Nebo - (Gypsy "karavan" Goes to Sky) and performed by Alena Buzyleva - then about 9 years old girl. Many many singers performed this song and the above artist is just one of many who sang it. Nevertheless the song itself is really great!

  • Great, beautiful song!

  • beautiful dresses!!!

  • Her name is Katia Gorbunova

  • This is gypsy song Zhoha

  • whats the name of this group ??

  • She is Russian. Named Katya Gorbunova...

  • This is such a great song but she is definitely NOT a true Romany performer. I am not either but if I were to perform this song, I would explain to the audience what the song is about and that it will be sung in Romany. This would make it more enjoyable for them. For a more authentic version, see Alyona Buzyleva in Tabor Ukhodit v Nebo.

  • She's not a real gypsy. What the hell she talkin '"about..? a real gypsy fell the rythm is her blood...

    funny video

  • pesnia super

  • Bad parody......

  • I enjoyed watching and listening to the performance of this Romani Folk song; it was really great. So thank you, poster.

But I should mention that my feeling was these were not true Romany performers.

Good performance, but it doesn't feel authentic.

  • I absolutely agree with you.

  • It did sound very American.

Usually a true one will sound truly ethnic.

I am Russian and Georgian and I´ve heard and grown up with both musics. Romanij music sounds similar.

  • @saffronix um she didnt say some words right, she also said sumnakune(its in all the lyrics on the net) that word is for gold and there is no "M" in it, but cuz of the wrong lyrics people sing it wrong. So I am sure she was Russian.

  • @Kbabykgirlk

Yes, I think you're right. (BTW I'm the new "saffronix").

I think you're right because when I compare the Gypsy (Kalderash) word for "gold"/"golden", with the corresponding word in its cousin languages (like Punjabi and Saraiki) , there is no "m" those languages.

The Gypsies have preserved many words and rules of grammar as they were a 1000 years ago, so I thought the 'm' was just such a preservation.

Please add me to your friends list--I could learn more from you! :)

  • @MeshugenahScientist the thing is, who ever copied the lyrics by listening to them, made a lot of mistakes. A lot of words were writen as one word where it should be 2...its intresting how you here things different if u dont understand the language :P

  • great song :)
