What voices and what a rich and genuine voice Gryff Rhys, the Weslh Pavarati!! Their songs are so beautiful they make you want to cry. I never heard more than two records before lately and they are my new favorite band. They are way too cool to be famous in the US. You can tell that the Super Furries were all musical prodigy types. That they make all their contemproaries look immature! What gorgeous songwriting and poetry. Yay for Welsh music and Celtic music in general is all I have to say.
in england this was hyped and going for number one and was withdrawn before released ofc im talking over ten years ago however it was all swept away like the song never was made...
I'm looking forward to about 20 years time, when this band gets belated recognition and I can sit there, old and grey, and say "I bloody told you so".
If I were gay Gruff Rhys would be first on my 'to do' list. Great frontman for a grerat band. Saw them at Wychwood 2009 for first time ever and they didn't disappoint.

It just struck me how terribly Beatles derivative this song is, all those close vocal harmonies, piccolo trumpets, 'retro' effects. The only difference is the intelligence of the lyrics :(
Oh yeah, the Beatles wrote faultless lyrics didn't they? "Octopus's Garden", "Lovely Rita" , "Maxwell's Silver Hammer" and "Magical Mystery Tour" all spring to mind.... And SFA have never written something as truly loathsome as, er, "Something" have they?
Rwy'in credu hyn hefyd. Mae nhw'n meddwl amdano'r byd ac y bywyd fel neb arall yn cerddoriaeth gwahanol... y Super Furries gyfeithiad o'r 'Teimlad' gan Datblygu iw fy hof can cymraeg... brydferth... hefyd dwi'n caru meddwl amdano'r can 'Mountain people' - can am y Cymraeg dwi'n meddwl.
Saw them at Wychwood 2009. They are a fantastic band that have stood the test of time. Gruff is a superb frontman and was funny with his "whoa!" placards. Love this video.
Haha, yeah. You can imagine how the Furries eyes lit up and a little bulb popped up over their heads when they seen how much money they were allowed to spend on a video.
i saw sfa open for blur in 97. i really went to see blur but when i left the show i was a bigger sfa fan (still love blur). sfa are unbelievably good live and are still my faves
Same here - was knocked out by Mountain People - then went to see them the next month at the Astoria (some clips on here of that gig) and was truly converted.
The best song/clip combination ever. I cant watch this without getting teary. Anyone who knows a better combo is full of the brown stuff. They should get the depressed and suicidal watch this clip. It may be the help that they need. Dont you just love the people in this clip? Honest and simple folk. I look at life in the big smoke and I blush. These people are for real - souls, hearts, arseholes. Where I live they are all Demons. Full of pretentiousness and bile. Long live SFA.God Bless.Skweekah
SFA OK, SFA OK, Super Furry Animals SFA OK. Saw them last week in Bristol and they were awesome as ever. Times like this I thank the Lord I am Welsh!!!
Hey some people like them. (I don't that much, but hey each to their own)
I'm more a Manics (The Holy Bible has to be the best album of 1994, if not one of the best of the 90's) and SFA (SFA keep coming up with great albums, with no sign of losing "it") fan.
sfa sfa sfa ok!!!!!! incredibly inventive, if you haven´t been to a sfa show then go...and the lost prophets suk balls, unless u like rehashed teenybopper post nu metal sh1te recycled from the US that is...
Thanks for the correction! There is a landmark in this video which subliminally made me think of Rio, but now that I can see it is clearly Bogota, it is all the better as a video.

With the exception of Stereophonics, this is proof that Welsh musicians are godly. (These guys, the Manics, Lost Prophets, etc.)
There should be a law that hands out record deals to all Welsh bands, lol. The effects would be phenominal.
