Ed Rush and George Cromarty wrote the song "Plastic Jesus" in 1957. In 1965, Ernie Marrs and the "Marrs Family" released the first version of this song which was adapted in cool hand luke in 1967. Rush and Cromarty released this song as "The Goldcoast Singers" in 1972. Hope this helps!
