Just to explain the situation I'm in: My Wii won't read my and I may have to send it to Nintendo for repairs. I found a Homebrew app to back up my save files. But what I need to know is, is there a Homebrew 4.4 or 4.5? I'm sure my Wii will be erased of everything when I get it back.

I have a Version 4.3U wii but I have homebrew and hackmii. I really want to purchase something from the wii shop but I can't without updating. Is this update safe or will it wipe my console of mods? I've tried the tutorials on installing a wii shop update without updating the system but the icon wont appear on homebrew. I'm no good at figuring out how to mess with the files. How can I update the Wii shop from homebrew??? D: HELP!!1

i just fully softmodded a wii last night, updated the wii using nintendo updates before the mod, it only went from 4.2 to 4.3. the wii shop channel and everything works perfectly fine for it. if there was a required update to 4.4u it would have been downloaded from the nintendo site when i upgraded. so until i get a wii that says 4.4u in the system menu settings after i update it before i mod it....the 4.4 firmware is not out. and what about all the brand new wiis that have been

@magnusbon yes there is 4.4 other wise when you want to play black ops and other apps like the shopping channel it has to be updated in order to run properly.

what about black ops i just got the game for wii but there is an update and is this the same update. it says "in order to use thie software, you must perform a wii system update. Select OK to begin the update" i was wondering if this is the same update and if i should do this just to make sure?

@1Helper911 No the black ops isnt the same as this update. it is perfectly safe to install the black ops update when it asks you to. It just creates a save file that patches online multiplayer to make it run better.

Also when the WAD manager told me to choose a IOS system choose "IOS56" then choose SD storage, select the two files in the description to install within the wad manager, and do as follows and it worked very well!!!!!!!!

Yesterday I went to check the Wii Shop to see if there was anything new, then updated without checking online and when I went to get on the Hombrew Channel today, there was nothing there, not even RiiVolution. I went to re-download the channels on the Wii, but when I opened the SD card file on the Wii, it said "Error#04" and told me my files were corrupted. I need help getting the channels back!

Right now, the current HackMii Installer version is v0.8, which installs the Homebrew Channel 1.0.8. When I updated to 4.3, I got the Homebrew Channel by using Smash Stack exploit. Because of what WiiBrew said about the 4.4 update, if I get the Homebrew Channel on a 4.3 Wii (using the current hackmii installer version) and I update my wii to 4.4, while I still have the homebrew channel, will anything bad happen? if yes, then what?

@cyberman1011 I dont know if anything bad wud happen to be hones because ive always stayed on 3.2. The only reason i dont update is because ive got cioscorps and the creators of cioscorps strongly advise not to update while ive got cioscorp installed. If I were you I wudnt risk it.

Its just nintendos way of trying to force you to update to firmware 4.4 to remove homebrew because each time you now run the wii shop channel you get a message telling you to update your wii. Follow the instructions in my video and you can remove the annoying message without having to update your firmware

@gbasource Actually, I do have homebrew, but, I'm kind of new to it, I've tried the WiiSCU method of upgrading the shop channel, but, when I tried to upgrade the shop channel I only had the option of "Yes" and "No" insteed of the normal options to upgrade. And yes I do have 4.3, which is what im guessing is the reason why it isn't working...

@bayo192 well heres what you got to do and hopefully it will work on 4.3. Make sure youve got the homebrew channel on ur wii. Now google for wad manager 1.7. When you have downloaded it, extract it and rename the .dol file to boot.dol. Put that boot.dol into a folder called wadmanager1.7 and then put that folder into a fodler called apps on the root/front of the sd card. Now follow my video instructions.You can run wad manager by going onto homebrew channel.
