Honestly, this reminds me of Mech Warrior, not Armored core. It seems they're going back to the true original way, wich was actually side scrolling shooter. I hope they still make more that are actually more rts/rpg like the earlier ones(not counting the first), because if all they mech games are played alike, then the only one people are gonna buy is the best. They would be better off the way of the number fms, but if they're just gonna copy the other mech games, then i'll stick to AC.

@Lonnie23345 i agree this is more mechwarrior-like than AC-like buit for me that's a plus cause Ac games are really hard to follow becuase of the abnormally fast pace. I love Ac games, but i tire of them easily. This is better cause it's more human-speed ;P

@Dinkomon As long as you enjoy it then. I wanted it more fast paced, mainly because I was thinking of Armored Core. But if slow paced is what you want, this is a completly fine game to go with. I just can't wait till AC5 comes out.

@ShinoiOokami should judge it by its merits this isnt a turn based strategy game so you cant apply same values. I love the whole front mission series but because i lov mechwarrior series too this game is quite quite fun for me :)

Honestly, the series could go the way of Third person shooter. But the story has to be key, along with the combat. The combat in this game is in no way representative of what a wanzer fight should be like, nor is the story/customization up to par at all with games such as Front Mission 3.

For me:

Game Pros: Great story-telling. Square Enix has actually done something I've always wanted in a mech game. A talking protagonists, along with cinematics that actually show characters outside of their mecha.

Cons: Mech animation is bad in my opinion. They move so clunkily, and they twist like some kind of remote control toy. Some people like that. I personally hate it. Just because it's a robot doesn't mean it has to move like one. Fluidity+

I used to play StarSeige a lot when it first came out. But today's games have way better graphics. Check out a game called Robot Alchemic Drive for PS2. It's also very fun, and they do a great job at making the mech robots look big. You can find some videos on Youtube.

i dont know.. i dont really get the feeling of watching a huge robot. no little people running around in panic like in the videos, the buildings and streets dont suffer visual damage from missles or bullets, not enough small stuff to make the city look "alive" (benches, little stuff, people, driving cars, busstop signs, trashcans for god sake lol)

it seems alright but i dont think i would spend 40 bucks on it. maybe when it costs 10

i prefer the old turnbased front mission more than this

@Flunkorg it not, he played ahead to get better gear and experience with the gameplay system so he can give us a better visual experience. Its better then seeing him dying, wonder around like a chicken with his head cut off, cutting those parts out and us viewers being able to call him on it.

@Flunkorg this game is easier than the other front mission games because this game requires no strategy...the other games actually include thought...this is just the game companies being like.."well...no one likes turn based strategy cause they're all herpa derp on the run n gun games that require no skill but spamming buttons" so that is why they changed how the game is...money
