  • Realistically, there's nothing wrong with speeding a little in larger trucks. A 90km/h crash is just as bad as a 100-150km/h crash. And driving faster only marginally increases those chances.

Is it smart? hell no it aint! But is it safe? More or less. :D

  • Doesnt help when alot of the drivers in ontario are those god damn towel heads that shouldnt be on the road in the first place. They have no respect for other drivers on the road

  • Why not you just go a little faster than 90 km/h? In my town, many truckers go over 100, Maximum speed is 80, they don't give a fuck. More drivers drive fast nowadays. For me, I hate driving slow because it makes me sleep and feel like a turtle.

  • What does that double line mean this is crazy,i drove truck all through ontario and quebec never let your guard down and respect the road or die.

  • I've had to take a ditch at 65mph because of "professional" drivers,if i have to be behind a slow ass trucker and deal with it like a mature person so should they...Also..Wtf are you listening to?

  • more drivers need to use their cruise controls. It will reduce traffic jam alot. I hate those truck drivers who speed just to get in front of you and slow down while I am going steady at 100km in the traveling lane on 401

  • Whats your point...if everyone else is goin faster than you, you are in the way.Professional doesn't mean you have to go speed limit and speeding doesn't always mean reckless.

  • ah the morons my grandpa pulls out of ditches .. Yates toin Scriber O.T. right down from thunder bay

  • Truck Drivers are paid by the mile what do you expect?

  • thanks for obeying the law and promoting safe driving. i must say though it is absolutely fine if you do 100kph on that road, the cops will not mess with you only 10kph over the limit.

  • I would say 90 Km/h (just slightly above 55MPH) is kinda slow, but you still have to obey the speed limit. Just watching this it looks like a major interstate highway from the way they were passing. Make me glad I do what I do for a living.

  • @thebigpoopful but our roads up here are a lot more curvy than seen in the video.. sometimes 90km/h is too fast around the corner

  • 3:17 Double kill!

  • You know you can go faster than the speed limit right? 100km/hr in a 90 and ur fine. In Ontario anyway.

  • @coolhandcanada @coolhandcanada Zero tolerance is zero over the speed limit. Of course you CAN go faster, but not legally. mto.gov.on.ca /english/safety/topics/speed.shtml e-laws.gov.on.ca /html/regs/english/elaws_regs_070455_e.htm speedingontario . com /penalties.php It's the difference between being right and doing what's right. So, what is right? Apparently passing trucks going the speed limit is not the right thing to BE. The right thing to DO is the speed limit. :)
  • it is not hard to hold the camera and drive i have a jetski and done it and let me tell u that is a bumpy ride so good thanks for bringing us this video

  • trains

  • Your allowed to do 11km/h over the speed limit legally, I'd be pissed to if someone was doing 90 when I was trying to deliver sometihng important

  • @Almond3889 Actually, no you're not. You're allowed to do the speed limit legally. You might get away with 11 over, but that doesn't make it legal.

  • When someone passes you in a situation like this, do they tell you anything over the CB?

  • In my country, all commercial vehicles in any form like trucks, buses, vans, pickup trucks have their speed limited to 60km/h. They have 2 lights blinker on their roof. If both lights blink, that means they are over the speed limit.

You guys are lucky, driving at 90km/h. Can you imagine how slow it is 60km/h. Cars tailgating you on your back dangerously.

  • @Ezalian Canada is a HUGE country. Hauling stuff around at 60km/h is just not feasable.

  • speed limiters are because of our neighboring truckers and garbage truckers whe think they own the road

  • I was driving on Hwy. 17 east of Wawa last October. I guy passed me going 105 in a 90 zone and then went past an OPP cruiser with radar at the side of the road. The cop did not pull him over. I later spoke to an off duty OPP constable in Wawa who told me they generally give you 10 km. over but it depends on each detachment.

  • Take it back, Better to be safe then to danger other drivers and or yourself.

  • Well I'm glad to see the trucks that do stupid crap in Ontario are the same ones doing stupid crap in BC, the two TSI trucks, and the Arnold Bros. have both driven like dildos around me out west, at least they're consistent and don't change the way they drive across the whole country.

  • Thats Canada for ya

  • Quebec Plates for sure. (passing)

  • Good to see that there r drivers like u out there who actually cares about other families who dont think that they r the only one on the roads and i noticed at 3:18 to 3:24 i think those r the 2 same trucks who passed u hahaha :)

  • OPP's highway law enforcement is HUGE. See lots of trucks pulled over They use mainly ghost crown vics, chargers, and tahoes. Not that many black and whites.

Dont speed if you come to Ontario, we have some of the most strict traffic laws, and you will get pulled over for speeding with a hefty fine. I live on Highway 17 in Rutherglen between North Bay and Mattawa, and the highway drops to 70 km/h from 90 km/h here. Almost any time, day or night, theres somebody pulled over for speeding.

  • Good vid. I can't believe they're doing this on a two lane road.

  • hahah they finaly got pulled over , i dont no about you guys but i would love to live there and get semis to honk

  • I can't handle Northern Ontario anymore, I was driving through there in 98 with my van and my brand new car trailer heading from Edmonton area to Guelph, when a little red car went into my lane and strafed my trailer, no shoulders and lots of traffic so nietther of us could stop... these days when I go to Toronto, Guelph ect. I go through the US on secondary highways, waaaay safer! Great vid!

  • what do u expect probably most of them re tobins from manitoba they have no respect for the road

  • I'm glad the speed limit in the US is 70mph/112km/h and 75mph in west texas

  • I drive the EXACT speed limit everywhere I go.. it's DISGUSTING how many people pass me. In a 50km/h residential zone I get people FLYING past me, riding my bumper. I too as well drive 90km/h exact on those northern roads, EVERYONE wants to pass me.. no one has no respect for road rules anymore. They all treat the roads like a race track. Disgusting! Keep up the safe driving!

  • Love the video. I see the same thing in real life every week on that highway. I too am a driver that goes 90kms.. (company policy) I do my best to let the faster drivers go by and most are thankful. I had some close calls, but I guess that's trucking huh. I see a lot of truckers out there but very few professional drivers. Is it just because drivers quit caring or are they not taking the time to learn proper driver etiquate. I don't know. I try and hope that other drivers will catch on.

  • Ya and it's 50KM through a village, not 70 or more!!!!!!!!!!!! I hope you guys that do lose your job for speeding!!!!!

  • i like at the end the trucks got pulled over, go ontario provincial police (OPP)

  • It makes me happy to see that Western Star pthat passed you

Pulled over at the end, hopefully that taught him something

    But, I doubt it did.

Do you know if that was Papason or Pannu Bros?

Looks like it, and I seem to find them speeding alot around here.

  • and they protest against the speed limiter...

  • some 18 wheelers think that they are driving a sports car...i was trying to keep up to a rig doing 160 on the 401 just out side of London...what a dick...

keep safe and keep er rubber side down

  • its so funny looking seeing a big truck being stoped by such a tiny cruiser :P

  • look at the speed odometer "kph" that's kilometers por hour not milesss.........

  • "This video contains an audio track that has not been authorized by WMG. The audio has been disabled."

For the love of Christ....This is just fucking bullshit, when did people get a hair up their ass about this shit? There are like 5000 videos on here put to songs......

  • We have guys like that in Australia and as a fellow driver i am sick off it becasue they gi and crash and give us all a bad name but your lucky that the cops are cracking down on the cowboy drivers in the industry

  • I have watched this video several times and still chuckle at the NASCAR truckers,it reminds me of hy58 in California.

  • We ha ve so many drivers like this in austalia and i am also a truck driver and get sick of these idiots who give us a bad name but your luckey in the USA that the cops are cracking down on the industry cowboys

  • PS, Good tunes on this video!

  • I am a Teamster, paid by the hour, I drive no faster than the speed limit, there is zero reason to for me. I have guys doing the same thing to me down here in Wa, Ore , Id and Montana. Coincidently I have a 38,000 some odd mile average of 7.7 mpg on my computer, I pull a mixture of doubles and 48/53 foot trailers in 4 western states. I guess these clowns have to speed and get extra loads done to pay for all the extra fuel. 10 gallon hat - 2 gallon head is what it is !

  • European Trucks have more high-tech and are probably more economical, but these American-Trucks are absolutely adorable. Those dials, and the nose with an enormous grill, they are really beautiful. I hope they will keep building them for ever, icons!

  • interesting video, too bad one of the rigs pulled over was not clearly the same one passing you on a double solid line.

By the way, at 90 kph you will burn MUCH LESS fuel than at 100 kph. Also less wear and tear on brakes as you almost never have to touch the brake pedal because almost everyone else is going faster than 90 kph, so you never catch up to anyone. A much more relaxing driving experience.

  • In Europe the velocity of the trucks is limited in 90 km/h!All trucks have a limiter. The car's legal speed limit is 130km/h(80MPH)(except Germany)There is not limitation on some sections! But the cars going sometimes up to 200k!That's a different story :))There are speed detectors on all main roads+highways, but all people know where are these

  • i dont think the people flying down the highway relize how much wildlife there are

  • I recall the few times I took a load through northern Ontario. I drove for a company with four terminals in Canada and ran coast to coast in both Canada and the US, yet 30% of our speeding tickets came from northern Ontario. Consequently, I was told that if I got one up there, my ass was grass. I let other drivers know that and they were generally sympathetic, even asking permission to pull around me. I accommodated them whenever possible, but didn't push the speed myself.

  • 90kmh = approx 55mph. That's quite slow on a hwy out in the middle of nowhere. However, the b double who passed you over double lines is a moron!

  • good video!this is just one of many reasons i got out of hiway trucking.i got tired of the close calls...now i drive trucks in nunavut

  • Did that set of doubles just pass you on the solid yellow. WTF!!!

  • Love your videos. The views from behind the steering wheel are great. As a retired trucker, those views put me there and driving again. Good job, and thank you!

  • Hey Rodger Trucker..I've worked both sides, driving trucks and stopping them along with cars and whatever decided to be in the way at the time. When I drove I got tired of envites to see the judge and slowed down. Especially when I figured out that high speed usually only got me a couple of minutes..Take care and Keep on Trucking..wish I would have instead of driving black and whites..

  • damn, I know those drivers in the fedex truck too. They took a beating once before in a head on that wasn't their fault. Same scenario, same highway. gave me shivers watching this thing. real close to home.. keep up the good work, help get these douche-bags off the road...

  • I see this all the time...I drive for Big Freight, our trucks are governed at 95km/h, There are always guys flying by, but you do realize that the O.P.P. won't even look at you twice for going less than 105km/h. They care more about the speed zones through towns and construction areas than on the open road. The guys passing on double solids are stupid, and will end up killing someone if they don't change their habbit.

  • By far my favorite video. At ~3:20 the OPP car is between two trucks. Was that an accident scene or did he pull over both of them to issue tickets?

  • That is the usual senario when a group of speeders decide to "hit the road". You see that all the time - it should put the thought in your head that you were doing right and they were doing wrong. Ya know , moronic drivers don't even think that some people call the police on "close calls". Meanwhile the fools are still hammer down and get caught. I saw 1 fool try to fight a ticket for not having any logbook for 4days. Stupid is - what stupid does.

  • its all about education. the way I learned to drive was pedal to the metal. full speed make more runs make more money. Then my crazy brother in law the one who races dirt bikes and snowmobiles tells me one day I am an idiot. he also taught class 1 driving. so I try his way for a bit. getting there about the same time don't have to be on edge looking for cops, burned a lot less fuel, and the added bonus? I don't put peoples lives at risk to arive a wopping 15 minutes early. good video.

  • 1 - next time, PLEASE use the original version of the tune.

2 - with tech how it is now, who's to say it wasn't mounted in his cap(meaning, he wasn't holding on to it with one hand while driving with the other) ;)

  • 90 kph, is about 60 mph. no wonder they were flying by you! I would pass you too.

  • go back to Texas

  • Actually, Erb and Arnold Bros have some of the best drivers. You'll never see them do stupid things.

    Cheers,

    RT

  • Good vid. I think you should send a copy to the safety department at Erb, Arnold Brothers, and any other company you can identify in the video. Just my $.02.

  • I respect the intent of this video, however in my opinion you're not much better. Operating a video camera at 90km/h is a bit hypocritical. It's just as dangerous as passing on a two lane. Not to ditch on you bud. Just my two cents.

  • You are wrong. Obviously you have never seen how I use the camera, and you definitley cannot compare holding a camera to reckless driving.

    Cheers

    RT

  • I guess your days of videoing during driving are over after Oct 26 with the new "distracted driver" law, no cell phones (unless hands free), no GPS (unless dash mounted), no playing with your ipod etc etc etc... I have to disagree with the Erb and AB comment though. Every carrier has "bad apples" and I have seen some bone headed Erb drivers (I'm not including you in this). I was curious though, how many that passed you were Brampton, Ontario based? Wrap around cowboy hats? Just guessing!

  • @jfitzrally I can make my lunch at 65 mph with my cruise on, drink my coffee and smoke my butt simultaneously.

I don't just play a trucker on TV...Im one in real life! It's whats known as being a pro. Don't judge, until you've done it yourself. I've been doing this for 20 years. Im guessing that RT has been down the road enough to learn you get there when you get there. Speeding only makes it a longer trip (after the man catches you)! No offense buddy.

  • @jfitzrally Meh. 90km/h (~55mph) with what appears to be a one-handed camera... Perhaps a distraction but hardly a major risk.

  • Good job Roger Trucker I am a driver too I use 17 alot and see so many crazy things on the road...and I agree with you ,as brothers we all have to watch our speed..the most important reason for driving safe is waiting for us at home...

  • You said crazy dirvers... but you're using a video camera while driving =P

  • gddddd

  • police cot the westernstar and kwopper

  • the westernstar and kwopper got cot

  • Could drivers like the ones you featured here, be the reason Ontario wants to require Road Speed Limiters in all trucks?

  • No, actualy, the bigger carriers are pressuring the gorvernment so they can force a ground of fairplay against other carriers that do not install speed limiters.

Trust me, the crazy drivers you see on this video would be even more dangerous WITH a speed limiter. The faster you pass, the safer it is. Remember I was doing 90Kmph, even the speed limiters are proposed at 105kmph...

    Cheers

    RT

  • Ja, but them driving like this does help any, it just give the anti-truck politician even more ammo!

  • Hey man, thanks for posting this. I'm currently going through an application to the Atlantic Police Academy and will be a police officer in a year or so. It's encouraging to see a good trucker actually post a video like this. There are a lot of really good truckers out there - but there are also a lot of REALLY bad ones. Thanks man!

  • Hey, I never said that I was a good trucker, eh! Ok, not a really bad one neither...

    Cheers,

    RT

  • the new law on speeding is just a cash grab another way that the government takes money from the public, they should put the speed limit up 20 to 30 km

  • Do you really want truckers going any faster than they already do? Give me a break!

  • In a sense I feel bad for Truckers, but when my four children all under the age of five are in my vehicle and a truck is so close I can barely see the front of his truck in any of my mirrors it makes me angry.

Just b/c you don't want me in the middle lane on the 401 doing the speed limit too bad... 110 in the middle lane is good. If you are in a hurry make other arrangements....

  • Well said. That's a good point. It's one thing to speed, but it's quite another to speed and tailgate a Mazda 3 with a Cat 550 Peterbilt big chromey diesel chuggin truck. Slow down, boys, or back way way way up. - Future Police Officer.

  • Two thoughts:

ONE: Holding a camera and pointing to the general direction of the shot is hardly dangerous at all.

TWO: As everyone can see, I don't mind negative postings at all. But if you are going to post any message containing bad language, you should be ashamed and you are losing your time.

    Cheers

    RT

  • WRONG,,,put your camera down sunshine,,,legislation is being written up regarding all devices,be it cell phone,GPS and your video camera is no doubt on that list

Such a shame too,,,you looked like you had a chance at being a cameraman too :(

And keep both hands on the wheel,,least that what they teach you at the MTO....could that be for saftey reasons?

  • who's holding the camera Mr. proffessional, safe driving truck driver????????????? hmmm

  • Sorry dude but the OPP only runs down trucks when quotas are not met. Being safe has many different qualifications. My truck is governed at 100KMpH. Needless to say that I have been passed by many OpiDopies looking to get to a Timmies for fresh dounuts.I do enjoy your videos and will continue to watch. Keep it Sunny Side up!

  • Hehe, good advice no matter what you're driving, good buddy!

  • kick it up to 110 and run with em'

  • In a rush to have that big screen TV delivered are we? Wouldn't it be interesting if you needed to stop quickly in front of that 18 wheeler full of TVs doing 110 clicks? Even 90 kph is overdriving the brakes! 110? Forget about it. You'd get the TV alright, but I'm not sure what condition you, or it, would be in...

  • hola roger, bonito vidio este como muchos otros sobre esta libre vida la del camionero. haber si te vemos en rutas españolas pronto roger. muy buena ruta colega.

  • Being an ex trucker and a commercial vehicle enforcement officer in Quebec for the last 5 years(contrôle routier Québec)i say "CONGRATULATIONS" to you, you are part of safe highways!

  • yes lets pass on a solid white line

  • Pretty safe..you driving while holding a video camera..nice work

  • that is funny i have never see an opp respect the speed limit in northen ontario and more worst one of my friend do oversize load and need to be escorted by opp and opp ask how fast truck can do and my friend cross all northen ontario at 110 115 km/h with over size load under opp escort

  • Yes I'm not surprised... I rcently filmed a 15 foot wide load slaloming at 70-75 miles per hour in Pensyilvania. i'm wonderig whether to youtube it or not!

  • Please do post it. BTW, great videos you are making. Keep up the good work!

  • dude wat r you driving???(model)ehh???

  • If you look closely, the speedometer says 90km/h , which is 56mph, which is the speed limit. Some fleets have their trucks governed at 90km/h, that is, 56mph. AND THEY ARE NOT THE ONES CAUSING ACCIDENTS.

  • lets just say:you have 10 hours on your log book let.if you drive 60mph you can cover 600 miles in 10 hours.if you go over then your log fines area.on a map you can only cover 600 mile pick a point where you have to stop.work your log book to get there.15 mile=15miles,30mins=30mile.

  • on all highways there is a 5 mph zone around the speed limit.but if you go to fast or to slow you become a hazard.look at jb hunt or shnider trucking.i drove the usa highways for 19 years and seen them cause accidents just for going to slow.truckers need to work there log books time when there slowed up by logging off for 15 min so they can make up time down the road. 15 mins is 15 miles you can makeup at the end this helps keep the speed down. because you made up time.

  • what are you doing 45 mph.because km 85 is around 45 mph.

  • there are to many dangerous dirvers we need safer drivers

  • Great video!! That's some dangerous stuff.

  • I remember listening to this song in Rexdale, Ontario heading up to my relatives house in Bolton with my family. My dad was singin' then he gets cut off by another driver and goes balistic by speeding up and yelling. Afterwards he went back singing to the end. I wondered if he ever understood the point of the song.

  • Good Job!

  • how old is your truck?

  • They went so fast to get ahead, but eventually lost more time and money being stopped by the police. Keep on trucking!

  • great movie man keep on trucking :D

  • Man, the guy passing over the double solid with a big truck calls for brass ones. I guess they don't use CB's or bird dogs up there? Usually trucks are pretty good at getting the word out.

  • Ive been a driver for 34 years.. if you keep a steady pace and spend less time talking to the waitereses at the Husky truck stops you will get where you are going on time and safe.. Spend less time coffeeing up and more time driving you wouldnt have to speed

  • all of you have been out there 34 years and your the ones telling big rig storys in the truck stops you prob. benn driving 2 weeks

  • They need double lane highways all the way across Canada. Great video!

  • good video man there r lot of dangerous truckers and driver im a trucker my self and i learned a long time a go that all you might gain speeding is a couple of min at the most and at least 15 min on the side getting a ticket slow down relaxe i have seen moose go in front of me at 90 km and bearly miss them if i was going faster i would have hit them. where would ya bee then or even a bear you so reduce reaction time by speeding

  • Too bad you cannot see into their windows, they are probably shaking their fists: )

  • what's the songs name called?? :D

  • Take it Easy - Its an Eagles cover song.

  • thx i like the music to . great video

  • K so they should be on the hunt for unsafe drivers who video and drive .

  • i dont miss that highway. I agree there is no professional drivers out there anymore, but I do have to say I dont agrre with the limit. it should be rased to 100 kph, but the law is the law and its nice to see some one else not blowing fuel cost out the stack!

  • what kind of truck do u drive

  • Ho...so your the one who's slowing down all the traffic...! hehehe just kidding!

  • Thank you Rodger, it takes a real professional driver to do 90 kmph.. all them other's dont deserve the title professional driver. A professional driver obey's the law and helps to keep our highways and road's safe. Keep up the good work. and thank's to Manitoulin Transport to..

  • Actually, I don't drive for Manitoulin, but for ERB Transport. And my truck is limited to 105km/h, not 90. The reason I do 90 on the strech between Thunder Bay and Kenora is because the OPP sent out letters warning that starting May 1st 2007 they would enforce a zero tolerance policy.

Having had a sppeding ticket this year in Nebraska, I am being extra careful with my speed.

    Thanks everybody for your comments!

  • There's two classes of drivers out there. There are the steering wheel holders, and then there are the Professional Truck Drivers. I consider myself to be a Professional Truck Driver.

  • The OPP are not too concerned about 100 kmh on the 17. They don't like anything more and they really don't like speeding in towns, but you Manitoulin boys and girls do the 90 all the time wherever you go and it does get frustrating for the rest of us.

  • No offense, but driving and filming like that, you arent any better, you wouldnt be filming if you had a faster truck!

  • yea you would. whats the differnce holding a camera or talking on a cell phone theres not my dad owns trucks and all are drivers dont have governs on the trucks and do what ever the want when there driving

  • Lol nice thats good trucking is like Nascar !

  • LOL thats good

  • LOL at the StarCar and red anteater that got pulled over.........better to be late than never!

  • For some reason I got a chuckle out of this because I knew what was going to happen to those drivers that passed by you. Yet again, one of the many reasons and there are millions more of why it isn't worth it to speed. We all have had a lead foot but leaving early to get somewhere on time solves that problem.

  • u should call the police. and report all of them. hahah that would be a nice scene.. 10 OPP rush up with lights on.

  • all your videos are very good those that I have observed, I hope at least that you make but videos

  • pretty sure that those to trucks past u early in the video aint they or no

  • Yes, both trucks you see stopped by the cruiser on my shoulder are the same that passed me earlyer... The Western Star in the front of the cruiser is the one that passed me while the FedEx truck was on the oncoming lane, kind of crazy.

  • yea thats just a lil crazy damn that would of been a bad sire if the trucks hit

  • Hey not a nice experience when you get a close call. It dosn't notice in the video, but I hit the brakes when I saw he was acting crazy. The FedEx driver got really vocal on the CB.

  • yea i would be pretty mad at the other drive that almost cause a big crash too i dont blame that fedex trucker getting mad byt nice video u gots man keep the video coming ttyl

  • Ya know people don't think of the concequences when they do stupid things like that. I'm a Professional Driver myself and I'm in no hurry to get in an accident. Better that the load gets there late than not at all.

  • Yea I just got done watching it funny how people pass you and then come to find out they on the side of the road getting an $500 to $1,000 dollar fine

  • You're the only trucker I've seen who doesn't smoke (or at least i haven't seen you smoke)

  • What about the guy obviously holding a camera and editing this movie while driving?? Kinda the pot calling the kettle black in it buddy?

  • And you weren't snailing along exactly! Those people were driving like Europeans in cars!

  • We get that alot here in Australia too.

  • those trucks are flyin!
