  • I'm going to try this.

  • Thank you man. i just did this for my old 1997 grand caravan. it actually worked. thank you so much

  • @Jeppprox You're welcome. I'm glad it worked for you.

  • dude this actually worked. I tried it on my dads van. Awesome thx dude.

  • Wow, clean headlights and Minty fresh too! Thanks for posting!

  • @aquicksilver266 You're welcome! And you'll notice the headlights don't have any cavities either.

  • I'll try that tomorrow thanksssss :)

  • thks bro!!

  • I have that problem with my focus!!! Very helpful.

  • excellent, i am going to try that tomorrow!

  • Nice job! I use a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser dipped in dish soapy water. Takes about 30 seconds of elbow grease to do each headlight.

  • @thomastidewater Thanks! I was trying to find a way to polish the headlights for free with something everyone has around the house.

  • watching you cleaning the headlight over and over makes me relax .. i guess i have to say thanx

  • Is this a Ford Focus, I Just had one In 2003, Crashed It and hurt my back really badly! But thank god im ok!

  • @pegasusmon25 Yup. It's a 2001 Ford Focus.

  • Thank u bruh

  • @JustLiving305 You're welcome.

  • fart at 1:28

  • @DjPauz I did that on purpose. The fart gasses in the air combine with the fluoride in the toothpaste to create a more corrosive cleaning agent, making the headlight plastic extra shiny.

  • I knew by coming to FB that I would find the cheap and free solution! Thanks for this!

  • @signalsoldier You're welcome!

  • Side benefit... Your headlight will be minty fresh!

  • @ACoustaDC It's true!

  • This actually worked thanx man

  • @XxQU1CKSC0P3xXMW2 You're welcome!

  • FUCK YEA SPONGE BOB!

  • i tried the same trick and i saved myself alot of money on cleaning kits nice job man....

  • @vctmas Thanks!

  • 28 mpg @

  • thanks .. I will try it soon on my Car

  • I dont think its the flouride doing any work. If you feel your tooth paste, its grainy just like car polish or buffer. Im pretty sure its the grain sanding your lenses.

  • @funintegras You're right. It's the baking soda or other mild abrasive in the toothpaste doing the work.

  • Thanks so much!

  • wow thank you so much

  • I dont think I have wax is there anything else I can use?

  • @Milyelton89 Hmm. Not sure what else would work. It may be fine without wax. Armor All or a similar plastic protectant might work.

  • awesome there is flouride in the toothpaste acts as a polish

  • No need to the fancy stupid headlight cleaner thanxXx man for saving some money

  • @69DPY You're welcome. My idea was to find a way to do polish hazy headlights with something cheap everyone already has in their house, and I'm glad it worked.

  • if that shit can clean the headlight so i can brush my teeth usingg a car waxing

  • @GIOOTO Your teeth would be really shiny, but it probably tastes terrible.

  • Thanks for this nice tutorial ;-).

  • @maomi1234 You're welcome. I'm glad you found it.

  • Do not do this on Cd's! trust me. Not that they are worth anything anymore.

  • Neat!

  • I polished my car's headlights (it had opaque yellow shade) today with Arm&Hammer toothpaste and result was amazing, headlights gave 70 % more light (I rubbed each headlight around 20 min) !! wow!!! My car looks much better now. Thank you very much for this tutorial))

  • @annkrk You're welcome! I'm glad it worked. Sometimes you have to scrub for a while.

  • Thanks, worked for my mitsubisi 2006

  • Nice one!

  • What did you use spongebob?

  • Wow this looks so easy! Nice video!

  • what did you use to buff in that last step a sponge?

  • @warbornzit It's a car wash sponge, which is a sponge covered with microfiber cloth. I think it came from a dollar store.

  • Did exactly the same thing on MY 2001 Ford Focus, but we had it professionally done... Now I'm working on my 1999 Porsche Boxter and it's starting to shine, but it takes time, and a lot of work, but it's a Porsche... Its worth it (:

  • I used this on my 2002 Hyundai Elantra, the lenses were pretty bad; you couldn't see the bulbs at all. I did one side, for about 2 or 3 minutes. I was blown away and so was my boyfriend. Although, after the water dried it did look less clear, but a million times better! I'm guessing a layer of wax like you suggested will help with this? THANK YOU!!!

  • @mechavoom You're welcome! It is pretty dramatic. I think the wax does help it stay clear. If it does get hazy again, go at it for 10 minutes per headlight with more toothpaste, then use some wax over it. Plexus plastic polish is a good light wax made for plastic, which may work better than regular car wax.

  • @mechavoom My 2002 hyundi Accent Had it bad and I did this and it only worked on one headlight the driver I could not get clear at all it was to UV damaged

  • @mechavoom I did it on my 2002 Hyundai Elantra too! (same situation), I had to do like 6 coats/applications until it was shiny and clear. After the buff, it works really well if you use a hose to blast off the stuff, then dry and apply again. good luck

  • I can confirm that this works! I used it on my 1999 Toyota Avalon. about 65% improvement.

  • @ebaysales1 Thanks! I wouldn't have believed it works before I did it, but it really does.

  • it worked for my car...great..

  • @GIONELLIO Awesome!

  • sponge bob rocks lol

  • you think toothpaste will work on my headlights?? mine are very bad, they look kinda yellow already lol

  • @d956impala Try toothpaste on one of them for about 10 minutes and see. It will probably work, and you already have the toothpaste, so it's a cheap experiment.

  • This did work. fallow his recommindation it worked for me, i did the same exact thing he did and it really worked

  • is there's a specific brand or color of toothpaste to use on the headlight?

  • @shyboyaj I don't think so. I just used whatever I had in the house. It had a picture of Spongebob on it. I'm not sure if Tarar Control style would be more abrasive than the regular or not.

  • great vid...did you fart at 1:27??

  • @ab102798 Maybe.

  • My dad told me years ago that they used tooth powder to polish airplane canopies in the Navy when he was in the service after WWII. It works!

  • The problem here is that tooth paste won't work with the worst headlight oxidation. I've seen so many ugly ones. This one was minimal. With those you will need some sand paper and compound

  • why spongebob toothpaste

  • hey ur great this works!!

  • @TheRandyj11 Thanks! I'm glad it worked for you.

  • If you use a mouse or orbital sander with buffing pad, you will do an amazing job and will not need the wax.

  • miracle product vs a bit of common sense, common sense wins eh? I've used both toothpaste and brasso and they both work XD

  • so i was also trying to polish my headlights. i brought a defogger, and someone told me i would get better results if i used a fine sandpaper because "it would sand away the layer of grime that fogged up the lens" i did it, and now its all scratched up, do youthink toothpaste will work to get rid of the scratches, or atleast make them less noticable?

  • @idogish It depends on how rough the sandpaper is and how deep the scratches are. Try rubbing it with toothpaste for 10 minutes and see what happens. If it doesn't work, it didn't cost you very much. I hope it works for you.

  • @idogish If the toothpaste doesn't get out the scratches then I would go to the store and pick up more sandpaper. Get a few different grits of sandpaper - each one a little finer than the last. You're going to have to sand them down with each different grit until you get to the finest grit, which should leave fewer scratches.

  • you are Genies>>> man

  • Nice, I just did it with my Ford Focus =D (also white as yours) Thank you!

  • @MrDarkPsifer You're welcome!

  • friendly video! good job! I use the expensive stuff with an expensive polisher :( but hey glad to know this works too! ;D

  • @gn3ricc I was really surprised that it worked so well. I tried car wax on my other headlight, and it didn't do much. I'd heard that toothpaste was a great plastic polish, and it's true. It works great on scratched CDs and DVDs too.

  • 0:15 and then skip to 4:55. Seems to work flawlessly!

  • I knew it was a Ford Focus!!!

  • omg, you're a genius.

  • @HelloKTanna I know. Thanks for noticing. : ) I was surprised at how well it worked on my headlights.

  • @hoohoohoblin it worked for me too!!! i bought fastbrite, but it didn't work, thats why i was searching on youtube. and so i tried it and it worked!!! really good, too!!! thank you for sharing!

  • @HelloKTanna Awesome! I saw the fastbrite infomercial, but am too cheap and skeptical to actually buy it so I came up with the toothpaste solution. Thanks for the fastbrite review. It looked too good to be true.

  • im 15 and i don't even have a car. how did i end up watching this?!? :D

  • @TheTymera I have no idea. For now, use toothpaste on your teeth. When you get a car, use it on the headlights. : )

  • hoohoo....awesome..am goin to do it on ma bikes headlight....oh,where did I put ma tooth paste?

  • pretty good tip there..keep us posted on how it works on the motorcycle windshield..

  • Do you know what you have started ? lol everyone who watches this video is off to pinch the toothpaste from the bathroom to polish their bikes and cars (me included), "sorry kids you can't clean your teeth today I am polishing my swinging arm" ;) Great video and thanks for the tips :)

  • @psychotheed Thanks. I hope everyone joins the Toothpaste Revolution!

  • Holy cow...it actually worked lmfao! Thanks for the tip Hoo!!

  • @Shoemagoo I was surprised too. I was looking for a way to renew the headlight plastic that anyone could do at home with no special supplies, and I'd heard that toothpaste is a good polish, so I gave it a shot and got it on video. I can't believe how well it worked. I'm going to try it on an old motorcycle windshield next.

  • Neat tip! :D

  • hooray for Sponge Bob! :D

  • @808yewtube Sponge Bob rocks!

  • Good to know.

  • I Will try this on our old car to! 

  • @48755003 Let me know if it works well for you. I was surprised it worked so well on my car.
