If you ever decide to leave your wife (yes, I acknowledge that this is unlikely and uncharacteristic), I would like to propose that we get together and have beautiful, happy, smiley, musical, poetic, and generally perfect babies. Just sayin'.
Especially in the first song, he sounds stunningly like Conor Oberst. Not a bad thing, not saying he is derivative or anything. Just saying they sound a lot alike.
Thank you NPR. This is my inspiration to write new songs, this is the reason i hope that there is always a tomorrow, in my times of darkness you always bring me light. Incredible musicians, and sincere warmers of the heart is what you bring me.
@timbulb In turn, who did Bruce Cockburn listen to. I'm glad you made the comparison. It made me check Cockburn out. To date, I have overlooked his music.
@aderbrian It's probably a little uncomfortable preforming infront of only a handfull of people, whereas preforming infront of a crowd you can look past them, you can't do that with only 10-20 people. I'd do the same.
listened to the first song and was like what the hell? Then again, oh ww eyeeyee is ww3. Oh. Then I listen again and its a totally different song. I love songs like that
Songwriting just doesn't get better than this. Literate yet unpretentious. Complex but accessible. Perfectly crafted, but still overwhelmingly passionate and genuine.
There is no better talent on this earth. Continue rockin' forever, Josh! You know we love you! Never quit grinning either - it sincerely brings me pure joy! Hope to see you again soon!!
I have faith that there will be zero "dislikes" even if you don't care for the music, this guy is the genuine thing, happy to be doing what he's doing and appreciative the whole time.
a girl i love introduced me to his amazing music. . were not as close as i wish we could be anymore.
i love his music but i think bout those days with her every time i hear any of ritters songs. makes it hard for me to like him truthfully anymore without thinking about those days.
Dear Mr. Ritter,
If you ever decide to leave your wife (yes, I acknowledge that this is unlikely and uncharacteristic), I would like to propose that we get together and have beautiful, happy, smiley, musical, poetic, and generally perfect babies. Just sayin'.
Fondest Regards,

@artfella28 its because he messed up, he said that the last verse but he played it off so smoothly

Ha! He gets mixed up on the choruses just like I do when playing this :-) JR is the best, and a treat to see in concert if you get the chance.

What a seemingly nice and down to earth guy. Reminds me a bit of a non-Irish, less intense version of Damien Rice.
