Thanks for sharing this video! WIth the Colorsplash 200B, are you able to mix colors (to get yellow, cyan & purple) while in Sound-Auto mode or is it just limited to RGB?
Thanks a lot for adding this. You answered a lot of questions for me. I think the LED 200B does great work and I'll be picking two up for my projects.
I had a Chauvet DMX-44 and played around with it one time. Really cant comment on how well the 200b's were to control. It was too much trouble for what im doing. I sold it a few weeks ago and dont plan on getting another anytime soon.
While the par cans are a little brighter, it seems like the color from the LED fixtures is much purer. At least from the video, it appears that the color fills the room better with the LED.
when you say theyre running by themselves in sound activated mode, do you need to connect the lights to the music in any way or does it pick up the sound?
They have built in microphones that pick up the sound. No connection is required to your music source.
I had some sync issues with these since posting this video. I have sent them back for an exchange and im waiting for their replacements.
The lights would get out of sync with each other causing the colors not be the same when connected with a DMX cable and run in Master/Slave mode. Im hoping that this was due to these being refurbs and the new ones wont have the same problem.
thanks, ive been freaking out because i ordered some chauvet LED strobes but couldnt figure out how they would connect with audio (my regular strobe hooks up with a mono cable but i couldnt find anything, but now i k now thanks)
i've heard of these units having the sync problems in master slave mode. I just went ahead and bought a DMX controller which a lot of people recommend anyways.
