Oh that's wonderful you have them eating pinkies too. My adults finally learned to eat them without them being scented. Most of the babies have gotten them too but then I have to add fish pieces. It's so nice to see you put this kind of effort into your garters.

they are not a large snake growing 2 to 4 feet . they do not have venom but may cause a reaction in some people due to what they eat but this is rare

i would not let one so young handle any snake. as they can be a bit skitty.garters are not a snake for someone so young.somthing less rapid like a corn is kind of ok but there should always be an adult near by.and tank should have a lock as we all know what kids are like.better still you handle the snake and child can then touch it.that way you have some control royal pythons are also quite dosile .
