good for them. Not all inmates are bad people. Some of them committed minor crimes that are not violent against anybody. Staying connected to their families gives them hope and support and might make them think about how to turn their lives around when they get out instead of becoming institutionalized.

I wouldnt say that is true..if you get a long prison sentence here in Texas, you will be sent to a place of brutality, psychosis, paranoia, anxiety, and random violence of a cruel nature..dont fool yourself, America has some extremely violent prisons, and they take small time criminals and transform them into heartless, traumatized, remorseless convicts. @newfielad47 Watch National Geographic inside stateville prison..tell me if it looks like a sunday school or a country club..Id rather be in that Siberian prison than Stateville, Corcoran, KSP, Coffield, Ellis, or any of a thousand other prisons, state and federal, in the USA..its only a VERY few prisons which are relatively plush by comparison, and those are reserved for executives, white collar criminals, and friends of polititians, as well as the extremely wealthy...
