It is so weird, all of my friends love the games of today like COD and Halo besides the few that have good taste in gaming. I respect their opinions, but COD over this? Oh my god WHAT HAS THE WORLD COME TO! I remember playing this all day back in 2003 when I was only 4 and flying through Windy Well. Now, Windy Well is so tough. I guess I was better when I was 5. The soundtrack in this series is so touching to hear again, it's like you are in darkness and have finally found light to lead the way.
I love when the Zingers start buzzing along to the song just before it loops again.......ahhh the memories! So glad this game made it to the Wii's Virtual Console!!
this song makes me feel like 8 years old again!!! OMG the memories! countless nights with my cousins playing this game.... ahhh good ol' 90's I MISS THEM :'(
Every time I got to a level with this music I went crazy. Definitely one of the best tracks in the game. I was 12 when I got this game. I'm 28 now. I just have one question. Why don't they make anything like this anymore?
Where did all the good days go eh? I remember playing this when I was 9, It was usually a everytime game we played when we were inside. Watching gameply of it now (i'm 18 years old now), makes me wanna buy a super Nintendo, and this game....Plus a bunch of other games I used to play.
@SuperDeutrano - my guess is little kids these days jealous of what we got to grow up with :D or just some haters, no matter what there are ALWAYS haters.
I love all Donkey Kong games to be honest. 99% percent of them are good. Very rarely do I not like one. But I must say, out of the first three Donkey Kong Country games, Diddy's Kong quest was by far my favorite, both in gameplay and soundtrack.
David Wise is a genius, this game was my childhood, I love my super nintendo - truth be told I still play it all the time. This is the epitome of nostalgia, not sure if to cry or to smile when listening to this hah... in any case it's truly amazing.
i wish my faggot friend didn't break my snes, he ripped the a/v cables out so hard it broke the internal part and the wires. he is no longer my friend.

I love this game so much and this music is so amazing :) . Nowadays games are nothing like this anymore and that's a shame, but i still play classic games such as the Donkey Kong Country games :)
@ThrasherNation Nintendo in general would beat Microsoft and Sony combined. Sega is kinda with Nintendo because I have about 25 sega games on Nintendo consoles.
i was born in 98, and wa lucky enough to have two older brothers that knew what they were doing. they used to fire up the super nintendo all the time and let me watch how to play real games. now, we still play occasionally.
I think the percussions in this tune is inspired by Metal on Metal / Metall auf Metall by Kraftwerk. Just listen to the "The Mix"-version of Metall auf Metall, it's pretty similar.
They just don't make them like they used to anymore, I feel sorry for the children who have to grow up with the games of today over this pure epicness. The soundtracks alone are mesmerizing.
I recently noticed this track sounds a lot like "They Don't Care About Us" by Michael Jackson, so I made a mashup of the two songs synced together, and it came out sounding really cool. I was SO EXCITED ... and then I found out it's been done, like, 3 times already. Oh well ... I might end up submitting it anyway, just to see what people think of it.
Every musical piece within this game is so classic, let alone the game it's self. This particular song when I first played this in late 1995 and early 1996 on super nintendo reminded me of the Michael Jackson song "Who Is It", and still does so today.
I noticed something... There is an almost un-noticeable sound effect in this music that is the same as the one of the Steel Keg hitting the griund in DKC! If you don't believe me, try it yourself!!!
@Tr3s3ntos haha I was born in 1995, luckily I got friends who were older than me so I got to play all the SNES and some NES games! =D I feel soo enlightened compared to nowaday gamers... 11 year olds talking about headshotting someone... where has the world gone. Wow I owe nintendo my childhood! =D

@Bibhii Yes, it is. You feel lonely then. I'm very happy that my family played these games with me when I was younger... Well, anytime, if I'll have some kids, when I'm grown up, I can tell them about these games and they will tell their kids about it, and then they theirs and and and...
@mesjr94 I'll bet that this song has been sampled in hip hop somewhere. Probably just not from any big artists. I know a guy that made a beat from the Bramble Blast theme, slowed it down and added a couple small extras. It was so sick. Epp - Coming Down; If you were interested in listening.

I can't believe a critic actually said they didn't like this game's soundtrack because it sounded to "too much like game music". Well no shit this is fucking video game music!
@MessengerOfDreams Well this game has an awesome soundtrack. Yeah some of this music did seem fitting for Pirates of the Caribbean. But I mean come on, disliking a video game soundtrack because the video game music sounds too much like video game music? That's like saying you don't chicken because it tastes too much like chicken.
@Ace2066 Michael Alfera: "I really don't like the DKC2 soundtrack much at all. I hardly even listen to it, for one simple fact: It sounds *way* too gamey"
@gustavohorn That's exactly what I thought. lol Well its video game music so why the hell should it fit music that should be in a game? Gee I wonder. haha
This is what I think of if somebody says Donkey Kong.
Amazingly atmospheric music that is more than meets the ear. At first sounds cool enough, but it has this emotional undertone that makes it all the more impressive...
@Vianerd1 Yeah, that's the thing. A lot of songs are up front and to the point with what they represent. But the Donkey Kong Country series' music...carries emotion behind a shield then it slaps you upside the ears withcatchy video game beats while jamming ambient pictures into your eyes and surgically inserting fealings into your subconcious. All the while dressed as a monkey.
@Velexian I did the exact same thing, woow good to know I was not the only one doing that :S and not only in that lvl, in DKC1 and DKC3 I also do that with varios soundtracks. I remember my mom asking me "Are you gonna play? or leave so I can watch my Drama Show" lol!
I remember being 4 years old and watching my big sis play one of the levels with this music when this game cam out in '95. It's one of the earliest memories I can still remember. Man, how time has passed.
The Humming is what makes this music so kick ass

Ace2066 4 months ago
@Ace2066 Michael Alfera: "I really don't like the DKC2 soundtrack much at all. I hardly even listen to it, for one simple fact: It sounds *way* too gamey"
rootbeer543 4 months ago
@rootbeer543 think he meant retro but still stupid comment.
tomatoedrama1 4 months ago
@tomatoedrama1 Well still this game IS retro after all. lol But he also said it sounded "too game-like".

mothman1997 4 months ago
@mothman1997 Hell yeah. Best SNES soundtrack of all time imo.
rootbeer543 4 months ago
@rootbeer543 yeah and another thing that critic should've known was that the year was only 1995 when this game came out
phily4life 4 months ago
@phily4life He was just stupid. Video game music is obviously going to sound like video game music.
rootbeer543 4 months ago
@rootbeer543 What??? Whoever said that should be taken straight to the madhouse.
gustavohorn 4 months ago
@gustavohorn That's exactly what I thought. lol Well its video game music so why the hell should it fit music that should be in a game? Gee I wonder. haha

This is what I think of if somebody says Donkey Kong.
Amazingly atmospheric music that is more than meets the ear. At first sounds cool enough, but it has this emotional undertone that makes it all the more impressive...
Vianerd1 6 months ago
@Vianerd1 Yeah, that's the thing. A lot of songs are up front and to the point with what they represent. But the Donkey Kong Country series' music...carries emotion behind a shield then it slaps you upside the ears withcatchy video game beats while jamming ambient pictures into your eyes and surgically inserting fealings into your subconcious. All the while dressed as a monkey.

You know this sounds really good if you can operate more than one page playing this music at the same time. Even if its a little off it sounds cool.

Born in 1988 and proud of it. I'd give anything to relive those classic gaming days.

I'm glad there was no time on DKC games so i could listen to the music as long as i wanted
LuigiHourPowerHour 6 months ago
@Velexian I did the exact same thing, woow good to know I was not the only one doing that :S and not only in that lvl, in DKC1 and DKC3 I also do that with varios soundtracks. I remember my mom asking me "Are you gonna play? or leave so I can watch my Drama Show" lol!

I remember being 4 years old and watching my big sis play one of the levels with this music when this game cam out in '95. It's one of the earliest memories I can still remember. Man, how time has passed.
