@MowinManic WOW detective.. dont think you caught the fact that it was damaged and that was the whole purpose of replacing them, AND NO I WAS NOT SUPPOSED TO PUT THEM BACK ON TOP OF THE DAYSTAR LIFT KIT THAT REPLACED THE SPRING ISOLATOR... you dont need to put another rubber isolator on a rubber isolator.
@PineAppleEx420 yes, i did not use a spring compressor. you have to remoce the steering tie rods and you can use your foot to push down on the control arm to release the spring
@johndeere9620rg i dont think it was a true 1.5 lift but i didnt measure before and after, i have not noticed any settling but again i didnt measure to have a acurate way to check other than eye balling it. sorry couldnt answer your questions better
Nice video, I'm a Dodge mech., but the reason the spacer is only that thin is because of the fulcrum of the control arm, and being close to the pivot point, you'll get your 1 1/2 at the wheel. Also, rent or borrow a spring compressor from a local auto store, and you won't have a fight with the spring.
@Coolride17 thanks for watching, yea i should have rented the spring compressor it would have made life alot easier, and i noticed if the spacer had been any taller the spring would been out of the spring housing and could have slipped out if hit a big bump the right way possibly.
@ICWWEVERYDAY dodge is still a pain cause you gotta release the sway bar, and the links rarely come off, they break. so you have to replace them, and they are expensive.
and you have to undo the steering links, shocks, springs, and compress the springs. still tight, but they go.
when it comes time to do tires again, mine are comin out, and im gonna drop the rear. lifted trucks are over-rated, (too expensive!!!)
ICWW bro this video helped out alot on my Dodge Ram 1500 05 2wd , The only problem i am having is getting the balljoint loose, it wont budge i dont have a balljoint remover but i have a picklefork that is just tearing shit up
@t3xasprid3 i have ran across that prob before and i tried ( break free spray for rust ) its kinda like wd-40 that might help get the ball joint loose from the upper control arm..hope this works for ya.
@krazy45cat yea ur not lieing about slick boat ramps i almost lost my last truck in lake conroe it was a 2006 f 350 4x4 i was loading my crownline onto a new alluminum trailer that i bought and it was taller than the last one so i had to back in farther and almost lost the truck i messed up the bow of the boat a little bit but all those toys are gone now,

dont you have to get a wheel allignment after because my friends say that you will fuck your tires if you dont

@450660700 yes you do need a allaignment, it does not take long and your tires will show wear.

is there not a way to remove the spring once you lower the control arm? or do you have to have a spring compressor?

Have you had any problem with the spacers settling? Also is it a true 1.5" lift?

same concept on a 4x4??
roalcoalcummins 1 year ago
@roalcoalcummins yea same concept actually it is a little easier on a 4x4 since it is solid front axle unless it is IFS.
ICWWEVERYDAY 1 year ago
@ICWWEVERYDAY easier on a 4x4 but still a pain. i've only done one on a 4x4 but it was annoying. took like 3 hours.
jmanwild 9 months ago
@jmanwild yea 4x4 is easier i have done several ford 250's and 350's they are much easier
