  • At 16:31 it looks like your Liberty nickel has a mint mark. That would mean its a 1912 and if its an S can be worth a lot.

  • @hcoaf789 Thanks for watching and commenting. You have very good eyes! 1912 was the only year V nickels had mint marks. This one was a D though.

  • Thank you very much for the education I got watching your video with the signals and the way you do the step by step walk through so people can understand what your talking about .I have one question what kink of metal detector are you using and how much did it cost and if you were going to upgrade to a better detector what kind would you buy? Thank you again for taking the time to do the video and educating us beginners ... jim c .... peace and H.H...

  • @OZZMAN3971 Any decent entry-level detector is good for finding stuff. You have to learn how to understand what it is telling you. Hands-on experience is the only way to get that. I use and e-trac by Minelab. You can Google that to find out how much they are going for these days. I used a cheapie ACE 250 for the first 2 years and did quite well with it also. True, it took me 6 months to master it. Best wishes and HH!

  • I dont know where the hell you guys keep finding all the silver coins but i cant seem to find any. I just bought a ace 350 after a year and a few months of thinking about geting one cause i thought it was my metal detector was not good enough. Now im starting to think its just the wrong area. I have hunted a old house countless times witch is 150 years old and found nothing but 10 bucks in clad, and the regular junk finds. maybe down south was just to poor for silver coins lol. Pointers please!

  • @randym704 Trust me, I have plenty of sites that produced no silver too! I find most silver coins when I swing real slow and listen for tiny chirps deeper than 6 inches. Best wishes and HH!

  • If that 1909 vdb was an S mint mark, it would really be worth some big bucks!!

  • what does the vdb mean?

  • @volcomboy687 VDB is the initials of the engraver that created the coin.

  • i was just about to comment about how you sound like jack black and then i saw thedirtbikerkid's comment!!!!

  • IT's a D

  • oh my, that wheatie is a 1909 S vdb! those can be worth up to 100$

  • are wheaties worth keeping?

  • Can you tell me what a "clad quarter" is ? Just starting to get interested in this stuff - thanks .

  • @doogleandalix A clad coin is any US coin minted from 1965 and later. They are called clad because the are layers of copper and nickel mashed together.

  • @Daddydigger1 Thanks - so is any quarter 1964 and earlier always silver ? I found a few 1963 , 1964 quarters in my purse. I will be on the lookout from now on before just mindlessly rolling change You look like you really enjoy this hobby - smart guy !

  • @Daddydigger1 Hi--- not exactly. A clad coin is any dime or quarter made after 1964 and any half dollar after 1970 (they were 40% silver until 1970). All circulating Ike dollars, and Susan B. Anthony dollars and Presidential dollars are clad. Cents and nickels were never "clad."

  • @Jbacks57 Oops--- correction: Kennedy halves were 40% silver through 1970, not after. My bad.

  • @Daddydigger1 Correction: Halves were 40% silver THROUGH 1970. Oops!

  • you mention your clads worth but do u sell the rare coins v nickels and vdm,silvers...im sure you do this for the luv but do you make $ on the coins?

  • @LetsPartyDJ4U Someday I will sell the common silver coins but will keep the older ones for my coin collection.

  • @Daddydigger1 what does the vdb mean?

  • you mention your clads worth but do u sell the rare coins v nickels and vdm?
