  • The British Chili Peppers.. but better... such a great track, and an under-rated band

  • Reef will be performing at the Godney Gathering in Glastonbury this July. So might see some of you down here in Somerset.

  • Besides Them Is Me (which yes, is darker/heavier stuff) there is also StringerBessant which is more folky and of course brilliant....still the two guys, lead Gary and bassist Jack. They are on tour and in London 1st April

  • @planetyes. You have a point there. The UK is far too busy listening to the giftless shit that Simon Cowell pumps out.

  • @ZosoHacker i put a thumbs down then when i meant to give u a thumbs up!!! t

  • @ZosoHacker he xfactor n the rest of the muck that gets pumped out is stoppin real music from entering mainsream the public eye.fucks me off ...manufactured wank for the masses designed for 1 thing n 1 thing only....COLD HARD CASH!!! hate it fuckin HATE IT WITH A PASSSION N EVERYTHIN IT STANDS FOR!!! manipulates children for 1 thing n thats what gets me... because its aimed at them....get em into the manufactured shit why there young!!

  • These guys should have been MASSIVE.

  • @ZosoHacker I think they were trying to break into the wrong country. America would've eat this shit up

  • reef shows nov/dec 2010 ***** reefbandDOTcom *****

  • they reformed for a one off gig a few months ago and enjoyed so much they are talking about more gigs in 2011!

  • Totally part of the soundtrack of the time when supergrass, oasis and blur were starting out, played lots of small gigs around the uk, this tune was made more widely known by being used for Sony's advert for the minidisc player.

  • top top band. such a pity they did not make it they were mint. great rock and roll voice

  • I love Reef \m/ These guys rock big time!

  • I love Reef \m/ These guys rock big time!

  • I remember seeing these fuckers in '95 and he was known as not being very partay, but he fucking literally climbed the rafters. Top Album, Top Gig.

  • beck

  • People don't know this excelent band in Argentina. I got "Replenish" on a bargain sale, I paid just a dollar for the european CD edition.

  • This tune has a serious STRUT!

  • @eimajecnerwal swagger

  • Saw them last weekend at The Cornbury Festival ...Amazing .. Have not seen them together since 2001 ... Beautiful , and had a nice chat with Jack after, great guy ..check out stringerbessant blog and check Amazon for new album ..Yard .

  • Saw these guys at a music festival. It was awesome; I got a high five from the singer.

  • Still remember the first time I ever heard this song, it was on the Sony Minidisc advert. Loved it then, still love it now almost 11 years later. Such an awesome band. Man I'm drunk.

  • Top song from a great band.

  • reef areawesome

  • GRRRRREAT ALBUM!!!

  • Watched them at shepards bush, they are better now than back in the day.

  • Fucking brilliant from a great era :->

  • just got home from seeing them at shepherds bush empire. total quality!!!!

  • fantastic gig in Bristol tonite - go and see them

  • they is coming back..!!!!!!!!!!

  • Classy blues rock, but this band should've gone a bit more psychedelic, and glammed it up some more.(Primal Scream ?)

  • underrated much?

  • Probably one of the best songs of the 90's.

  • what?! did you fall on your head and forget, pearl jam, nirvana, soundgarden, GRUNGE??

  • @McleanLibertySG Sorry mate, it is you who has fallen. Grunge was overrated anyway. Get over yourself. This here is true rock. Listen to that classic riff.

  • @iltas5150 did daddy never hug you?

  • good music,

  • Dope track

  • Man all i gotta say is I can't stop listening to him..or looking at him..*smile* yummy

  • Loved this song!!!! Thanks for posting it been looking for it for a while now. REEF were sooo under-rated.Classic guitar riff and great vocals.

  • They are back and touring in April, brilliant news!!

  • WHAT???!!! You have made my day. Praying they come to Australia - I saw them everytime they were here..... one of my fave bands of all time

  • amazing!

  • should of been bigger

    quality band

  • This is a fab guitar riff - I remember seeing an advert for something Sony had brought out back in '92 and this was the track behind it - what a cracking track and band.

  • @TheBantlingboy heh heh, your comment is kinda funny cos the advert was for the minidisc, shows just how badly that bit of tech flopped, that we remember the band from the advert better than a format that was less successfull than betamax.

  • did he said he got into the kkk??

    O.O 0.22

  • i doubt it

    not from this lot

  • "Hoot with me - I get into that"

  • Reef, what a band. An underated band!

    REFORM!

  • yep

    amazing

love THEM IS ME too (jack & gary's new band)

    their new tunes are sick

  • The guitarist has such great tone, im assuming he uses valve because there is no way you can create that sound other wise. Great track

  • Kenwyn says he just uses 'heavy strings, a heavy pick, and clean hands'! I read it in a magazine once...

But yes, he obviously uses classic guitars (Strats, Les Pauls, and the like) through old-fashioned valve amps, and very few effects.

  • ..pure, raw, 'naked' talent ..born from Glastonbury's backstreets and ruined by American producers within 2yrs ..Replenish, solid - in my all time top 10..

  • I saw them in Leeds Met, a good few years ago...

I like the way that the guitar riff in the verse sounds as though it's been looped -- but it's just Kenwyn House playing it live.

  • What a Bass line!

  • Just bought Together (the best of Reef) for £4.99 at play . com !!! Winner!

I'm happy now - Hot sunny day, windows down, cruising down to the beach rocking this out! Just like it was when we were young! REEF ARE THE BEST! how did i almost forget them??!!

  • born in same year.....we are still young...especially when we listen this again

  • this song rocks my shit!!!

  • The nuts! love the riff!

forget the mini disc....where are they now?

  • Ace tune from a great album, was it as far back as 1995 ??

  • Replenish - Hands down best album.

  • dude ... this is all we had back in the day ......

  • Jeez, I love this song!!! I remember how it was, back in the days

  • finger lickin' good!

  • Does anyone hear a vague connection to Kyuss' "One Inch Man"? or am i going insane (Kyuss - Josh Homme from Queens of the stone age's old band)

Either way great song prob my fave by them. Maybe come back brighter dunno lol

  • OMG im stealing that riff!! =P j/k

  • Dios! Que temazo!!!

  • És que lo de estos tios no tiene nombre. ¡¡¡ Como les echo de menos!!! Suerte que nos queda Them is me (no es lo mismo es verdad, ni falta que hace, pero suenan de p*** madre).

  • 10weg if gary was"fam"you would know he was from west country e aint no brummy pal!

  • Awesome riffs.

I found this song on Pandora and absolutely loved it.

  • Anyone got the advert this song was used in?

  • Remember seeing these guys at the basement in Rock City@Nottingham just after the sony ad came out. Real small gig, right up close. Gary had a broken arm but still did a great job.

Good days, great band (esp. live). Will check out their new bands..:D

  • holy god of jebus this is off the chain

  • Nothing went wrong with them. They put out a few other albums that were just as good, if not better. I think they just wanted to branch out. Lead singer and the bassist are now in a band called Them is Me. Thye play a bit darker stuff, but it's still great.

  • The first album was so good... ...what went so wrong with these guys?!

  • The best riff ever!

where did they go? dissapear with the minidisc?

  • Like rage against the machine without the politics. Love em, miss em :)

  • This is my favourite reef song

  • same here!!

  • You should listen to the black crows, a good black crows song is hard to handle

  • wow he was a baby.

  • Ooooooooh Aaaaarrrrrrhhhhhhhhh!

  • Comment removed

  • the singer "gary" is officially black country.. hes fam...

  • Umm, they are English??

  • yup, and live down the road.

    ooh-arr!

  • It doesn't get much better than this people. Lets all join hands and change the world. Or we could go down the pub,get fucking splattered and mash a keebab, have a fight, then puke up on a taxi driver. BEERKEEBABFIGHT! GRRRRR!!!

  • Great riffs in this song.I am amazed no-one has uploaded the Sony Minidisc advert on Youtube (The band & this song were on it).Like someone who wrote earlier I always thought it was a Kit Kat advert!

  • best song ever

  • reef

  • Replenish ,the wholw album still makes me tingle today and ive been listening to reef for about 10 yrs now.

  • what ever happened to them, they are soo cool and shouldnt have faded into the abyss

  • Saw theses guys in 1995, and again in 1997 awesome tour again guys!!!!

  • How could you :0

  • i hate brit bands who sing with yank accents...give me the stone roses and the jam any day..they sound english

  • he sounds like a bloody farmer to me.

  • what a riff!!!

  • I remember that this song was on the first ever Sony Minidisc advert in the UK. Loved this band ever since!

  • Mini discs = epic fail

    xD

  • has his own sound, thats what makes this band unique

  • 'Naked' was the band's name, prior to choosing Reef. I saw them in the Fulham Swan pub, London, in about 1994 i think it was. Or it could have been late 93. I remember Jack handing out flyers for the gig a week before.

I also saw them in the Camden Underworld in 1995, supported then by, if i remember correctly, Bullyrag and Kula Shaker. Great gig, pretty much ripping through 'Replenish'

  • es un tipo de droga auditiva?

  • trippin lak fuck hre bais! fuk YE

  • absolutely amazing.. dirty guitar riffs, 40 cigs a day voice..ROCK AND ROLL!!!

  • Kenwyn, House! House! House!

    Kenwyn, House! House! House!

  • This is a cracking tune, love the guitar work. I wasnt much into Reef on cd but live they were fantastic!

  • saw reef in TJ's few years ago, blew me away!! (not a quote),much better live than on the wireless.

  • One of my all time faves, god damn Gary Stringer was so hot!

  • sony mini disc comercial

  • remember this song was on a mini disc advert or something years ago in the 90's and loved the tune. Was so chuffed when I found the album. Advert went something like: "You cant sing, your out of tune. You'll go along way". Might have been a kit kat advert actually.

  • REEF YOU RULE

  • Awesome song ^^ the guitarist was giving a master class in guitar tone and sounds 2day in my music college, such a good player and i got so much out of his lesson :)

  • Is he still teaching at BIMM?

  • nah hes not he just came in for a master class but most of his stuff is still there lol

  • Ha! Well he's one of the best guitarist this country has produced in a long time, must be shit for him to not have a decent band to play in.

  • I actually got this clip from the U.S. release of "Glow." The CD included some extra features that you could access from your computer and this was on it (even though it's from "Replenish.") Had to post it.

  • Thanks to whoever posted this, been looking for it for years. Live version is much better though, the version they played at Glastonbury about 7 or 8 years ago was amazing....
