Elvis hit me like a ton of bricks when I heard his "Blue Suade Shoes" on the radio in 1956. I was 16. About the same time I heard Bill Haley's "Rock Around the Clock". I think my grades in school went down after that. This music matched the rthythm and blues of my heart. That year I started singing with a guitar "Blue Suade Shoes", "That's All Right", "Rock Around the Clock", "When the Saint Go Marching In" and I still do it at 71. These songs are great forever.
