Back in 2000, when I was 15, I was up late watching TV and SNL came on. I got a blank video tape and the VCR ready to record when I heard PJ was the musical guest.
@mzk123ify Yeah, that was the part I always remembered too. This performance was the first time I' d actually see PJ (had heard them a few times on the radio) and I was like "Fuck! They rock!!" I remember this one so much because I was in the hospital with my wife, and she had our first daughter about 2 hours after this was over. Man I fucking miss being 20!!
@Gianfranco2511 I loved their second SNL appearance too. I could be wrong, but I think they might be the first musical act to ever play three songs on SNL with that appearance. But this was friggin awesome!!!
When i was 16 and watched this, I thought Eddie Vedder looked old. Now, 18 years later, I'm looking at this and thinking, "God, he looks so young - like a kid!" How time flies. :[
This is a classic performance from pearl jam, eddie's powerful voice, every member just rocks out, love the solo of the gutiar outré the way mike slides the riff
@wwrjd1523 I was 16 and in 11th grade. My psychology teacher liked to tape snl episodes and show them to us after we took a test. He showed this one to us. I remember Sharon Stone hosted this one. They did this song and then they did Porch.
As a Pearl Jam fan, a Seattlite, and a 12-year-old (in 1992), it was the culmination of my existence that I was able to persuade my parents to let me stay up to watch this, especially since I had a championship soccer game the next day at 9am. When I got the game-winning assist the next day, I yelled out, "See? I'm still alive!!!" to my parents. My dad laughed but my mom cried. I guess they both got it... :o)
I have the same video on my old vhs tape, recorded directly from tv.Thought to put it on Youtube but have no time to change for avi...anyway its nice to see that version of Alive again ....for me MIke play here one of best Alive solo...greetings from Poland
So cool... my brother in law taped this on his VCR and we kept it for years ... then we went to get it out and take a look at it and we couldn't find it. thought it was lost to us for ever thanks.....
saw them the night before at the Trocadero in Philly. eddie jumped from the balcony and it was a wonderful show, though i got a bloody nose being up front.
