one of my all time favorite albums. it looks like you have the good version with the lyric insert, it took me years to find that copy back in the day.
mwh has always been a criminally underrated band... don't believe the hype about "bubblegum pop"... it's deeper than most people think... mwh is a thinking man's band... (or woman's-- PC blahblah) i got a special place for them somewhere near my heart... right there in the spleen... oh hell, i love MWH... just deal with it, ok?
A great band from a great time. I say often in the 70's I was sick and tired of longhairs with guitars; I wanted music to appeal to something I had no name for but which I now know is my cold, cold silicon heart. And so in the 80's came synths.
But you don't have to add letters to the address to make it stereo. It's already stereo by default owing to a YouTube change a while ago.
@arrobasj Great tune, thanks for writing it. :) Back in the 80s I did a note-for-note cover of it with an M1 and a Kawai sequencer. I wish I still had a copy of it.
I LOVE every song on this album. My uncle bought it for me when I was 7 because I liked the hit safety dance. This is one of the greatest if not THE greatest 80s pop albums.
This came out in 1982 -I was 21 at the time-I was in a night club in Switzlerland when I heard this for the first time -flash back - good memories - Thanx
beautiful, this song was a bit of a lifeline in the summer. an amazing tune off an amazing album. respect all men who refuse to wear hats, or even men who can't afford hats, or even men who have heads too big for hats.
You know, for all the safety dance fans I'm surprised you guys haven't checked out the songs "antarctica" "I like" and "I got the message"! Those are all safety dance-like songs, but are original enough to be their own awesomeness! :D
Try Ear-X-Tacy in Louisville KY. I just ordered Live Hats on DVD. and they found it!!!! This store finds anything you want (almost.) Try them. "Collection" Has most of the CD on it. That's readily available. good luck.
Absolutely brilliant. Rhythm of Youth will always be one of my all-time favorite albums. While man will criticize the group for being 'cheesy 80's synth-rock'--I consider them to be one of the most original artists of the decade. I'll put them right up there with Talk Talk as a 'beyond-the-norm' pop band. Thanks for posting this....
@jimmytwostones Because British music was so influential and good. Anyway it made a change from British groups trying to sound American which happened a bit in the 70s. :D
i miss this band. i need to get a cd. me and my mate used to listen to mwoh on cassette back in the day so much that we had to stop so we wouldn't wear it out... so awesome. <3
Thanks for uploading. Back in 1983, I had this on cassette and "Things in my Life" was actually my favorite song on the album. Brings back good memories from that time.
Just figured out the chords to this - very interesting progressions!
