Small chance, but it cán happen.. That's just bad luck. But better to prevent getting AIDS of millions of people, with a few having bad chance (<0,1%), then to ban condoms and letting millions get AIDS annually.

No, it's not a false sense of security which is given to them. Condoms are not 100% secure, but that doesn't mean they don't work and should be banned. It's about the total effect when they are frequently used, AIDS and other STDs wíll decline and decline.. That's the most imporant. Next to that.. giving condoms only is not enough, people have the right to be educated about sex and sexuality, and can therefore make better decisions about their sexlives. Awareness of dangers is a must.

Because a jump from 0% toward a 99,9% security, is a big deal. Especially if you combine multiple degrees of high security (Like I said; two condoms)--> That is a chance of 0,01%^2= 0,0001% that a condom fails. You are not going to win this argument. It's like saying a 1 billion dollar securitysystem, with lasers, S&D robots, cameracontrol and alarms is not 100% secure, and therefore is a false sense of security. Come on Christopher.. Next to that, the goal and our responsibility is to reduce STD's anyway we can. Telling people that having many sexual partners is dangerous is a good way of educating, but condoms are essential to keep the number of new AIDS/other STD's patients down!

Next to that, I thought later, you did not read my reply at all, now did you? I pointed out that education about sex and sexuality next to that is véry, if not the most important thing. If people know they are not 100% safe, but if there is a slight chance of getting infected if they are unlucky, they will handle the issue more securely and consciously. So.. regular screening + awareness of the dangers + condom or doublesafe anticonception = very efficient and safe.

To speak for myself.. If I knew this person had AIDS and I really cared about her, I would probably use two condoms (two male/ or male ánd female condom) to be sure. I haven't had many sexual partners in the past, but I've taken all of them with me to a institute which test you for STDs, for the safety of myself and reassurance to them and me that I'm clean of STDs. If all people used this combination of prevention and checkups, STDs will be gone in 10-15 years.

Geronami, Humans have been experimenting with sex since the beginning of time. Its nothing new. Even if you look back 2000 years and study these religious books it mentions homosexuality. Men having sex with animals. Rapes, Sex within families, underage sex, prostitution and so on. All these sexual transmitted diseases always existed. Its only now we have a name for it.
