Have you experimented with force sensors, as opposed to accelerometers, in your HITS Technology? This would allow you to get a direct force measurement between the helmet and the player's head. I work for a sensor manufacturer that produces very thin force sensors (8 thousandths of an inch thick) that have been used in similar applications for athletics research and military helmets. We'd love the opportunity to work with Riddell and the NFL - let me know if you have any interest.
