  • actually not a new orleans native. he's from florida.

  • fabulous

  • A classic that you never ever hear on the oldies stations. I love it!

  • Rocking and dancing to this at 'The Hangout' PC Fl in the 60s.. great song, great memories

  • It will always be remembered in New Orleans too. RIP Benny.

  • Wonderful song!! I am a Pensacola native and was not aware that he lived in Pensacola. R.I.P Mr. Spellman

  • Just read that Benny passed away on Friday , June 3. This is his signature song. Irma Thomas was one of the back-up vocalists. And , incidentally , Mr. Spellman was not a N.O. native . He was from Pensacola , Florida . May he rest in peace.

  • such a sweet sound.....played los angeles radio forever in 1962

  • Nice tune, and I had not heard this song before. Interesting info on the singer, and I do remember his voice in Mother-in-law

  • @maynardcat You have a terrific vocal memory. Mother-In-Law was by Ernie K-Doe, but Benny's vocal signature was unmistakable!
