The basic lycan against the basic vampire in a man to man no guns, is no contest a lycan victory, The thing is that the lycan doesn't really have some super soldiers like the vampires have Selene, Victor and the rest. Lycans is stronger individually, but lesser when in comes to the leaders. If i was to defeat lycans i would use phalanx soldier for the most part, because the lycans seems so disorganized that they cannot overcome it. Vampires would probably be fought with more balanced units :)

A werewolf can only change under the full moon, and cannot control that. The same can be said for lycans, however they are also able to transform at any given time, wether under a full moon or not, should the need arise.

@DrunkLad91 In general, that seems to be the case. Aside from Viktor, no vampire in Underworld explicitly demonstrated the ability to annihilate Lycans in unarmed combat. Whenever other vampires find themselves in that situation, they seem to be mauled to death in seconds.

I think I prefer vampires to werewolves, but i thin the vampires cam get too cruel sometimes. K Soren (Vampire) whips Raze (Lycan) because when he was pushed into the water he lost grip of his gun and it fell on the other side of the room.
So yeah, race has nothing to do with why Raze was being whipped, Soren was a former taskmaster and had no other weapon to use besides the whips.

@DrunkLad91 In general, that seems to be the case. Aside from Viktor, no vampire in Underworld explicitly demonstrated the ability to annihilate Lycans in unarmed combat. Whenever other vampires find themselves in that situation, they seem to be mauled to death in seconds.

I think I prefer vampires to werewolves, but i thin the vampires cam get too cruel sometimes. The only reason the normal vampires are weak and can only fight with weapons is because they have been using slaves and this things for too long, only powerful vampires like Selene, Markus, Viktor and probably Amelia can still fight without weapons.

this vid shows the only reason a vamp could kill a lycan, using weapons. they are to weak 2 get up close and personal and dont hav any natural weapons. lycans on tthe other hand are extremely powerfull and use their teeth and claws. they dont need the use of whips like that vamp. Lycans for life
