@rajahjim1 The problem is that there have been a few cases of people peacefully going to the "Balai" (which, in this case, means police station) and suddenly coming under arrest for no reason. Because it is in the police station, it is much harder to explain rationally, and there are no video cameras on site to ensure the exchange is peaceful and reasonable. There have also been many cases of police brutality. Hope that clears things up.
@rajahjim1 if they have not done anything wrong, they are not arrested. if they are not arrested, they have their right to not go to the station or wherever the police instructs them to. these are your basic rights which you must remember, because it will come in handy. I think you must have heard about bogus cops (although not in this case)

@mohol93 It's not hard to understand, it doesn't have a permit simply because the government doesn't want to give it a permit. And the rally was peaceful until the bloody police tear gassed everyone. And a life WAS lost due to the police. There's no way we can be a "successful" rally simply because we will not be given a permit. So it's illegal to join the Bersih rally and give out flags, but the government can pay people for votes? Geez...

Btw guys, if you read the police act, you will notice that these "arrests" are illegal.
A police must say why they arrest someone before they can take to balai.
It's not a matter of what the Bersih members do wrong, it's a matter of what incompetence the PDRM is showing.
Btw, if police ask you to go to Balai without telling you the reason, by all means say no. They shouldn't be able to force you there, unless they are gangsters like the above shown.

@rajahjim1 The problem is that there have been a few cases of people peacefully going to the "Balai" (which, in this case, means police station) and suddenly coming under arrest for no reason. Because it is in the police station, it is much harder to explain rationally, and there are no video cameras on site to ensure the exchange is peaceful and reasonable. There have also been many cases of police brutality. Hope that clears things up.

This is stupid really. Let alone if the Bersih Rally is illegal or not, understand its agenda. Its promoting anti-corruption and awareness so people are not being fooled with the losses by government's mistake. Here clearly shows the macho policeman wanting to arrest these fellow because the are wearing Bersih shirt (in which therefore) supporting the illegal rally. If I'm wearing a communist clothes, I wonder if they going to arrest me? No.

Negara aman keseluruhan kerana pentadbiran yang baik. dan perkara yang menyokong perhimpunan haram ini adalah salah di sisi undang-undang, maka yang menyokong perhimpunan keganasan tersebutlah yang korup mudah dipengaruhi dengan dakwaan yang tidak berasas penuh fitnah dan iri hati..Orang seperti ini adalah orang yang tidak bersyukur dengan apa yang diperolehinya selama ini, tamak dan keji.bagai duri dalam daging.

Negara aman kerana pentadbiran yang baik. dan perkara yang menyokong perhimpunan haram adalah salah di sisi undang-undang, maka yang menyokong perhimpunan keganasan tersebutlah yang korup . Justeru itu, orang2 seperti ini tempatnya adalah di lokap atau di bawah tahanan ISA. Masyarakat bijak menilai situasi , perhimpunan haram adalah sesuatu yg keji dan dilarang dalam agama. I see a lot of people giving the cops shit. Frankly, I don't see how this has anything to do with him. He's merely doing his job. The people who were promoting the BERSIH rally seem to be taunting him, as if they are daring him to do something. We can see the cop being patient as well. There are better ways of making your voices heard. Don't be stupid and get yourself in trouble over something like this.
