I have'nt played mass effect since last year, but I think that some more missions unlock after doing another specific mission, I'm not sure though. sorry I couldnt be of more help :P
@HuchiaZ i have done it many times some times you get the key and some times you get the romance thing . the way it works on the prothean sphere has to be unlokced by someone you . you will read whee it reads about you seeing something silver fling around with no head and you dont under stand how it flyes around then you wake up and your help that went down to the planet is trying to wake you

@canadianspwn11 sorry to get back to you so late, but from what I remember, it was a prothean scout probe that came to earth and studied primitive man. I t's been a little while since I played it so i don't remember all of the details.

@HuchiaZ You probably didn't give the Elcor diplomat the evidence on the OSD. You have to do two things to be able to get the trinket.
1- TALK TO THE GENERAL SEPTIMUS IN CHORA'S DEN
2- TAKE THE OSD SEPTIMUS GAVE YOU AND GIVE IT TO THE ELCOR DIPLOMAT IN THE ELCOR EMBASSY ROOM (RIGHT NEXT TO THE HUMAN EMBASSY).
When you talk to Shaira, she'll give you the trinket right after she offers her words of wisdom.
