If anyone every cracks a joke about your height just say : " God created short people so people like you at least have one thing you can feel good about yourself with."
I say it every time. It basically reminds them that their is nothing special about them either.
I belive it's a solution to ignore commenting on your height when you meet a person for the first time. But after a while you have to comment on certain aspects of your life to be able to maintain the trust of others, on: girlfriends, dating, marriage, how you react in conflicts with taller and agressive persons. I deal with this problem by collecting, analyzing, and reflecting on how famous shorter men deal with certain comments in interviews and video clips. Sometimes it contains information
I thought Diane did an excellent job discussing this topic. I know for most short people, the standard response for heightism is to ignore it. It's never been the right response. But it's definitely the preferred response. Maybe someday we will wake up and face heightism rather than ignore it.
I am not saying dwell on the issue of heightism, but escaping it doesn't alleviate the problem. The prejudice will be there, whether you ignore it or not and you will eventually have to deal with it on a social level, if not an individual one.

I got to be honest, as a short guy, most of this height prejudice crap went right over my head.

Flaw in this! Most of the time, it is the non-short person (or non-short male) who makes the comment, and/or the most comments.
