Dirk Kuyt has scored 51 goals in 200 appearances, which is not in anyway bad and trust me I rate Dirk Kuyt highly, he's very underrated, but he is in no way as good as Torres.

Look at 2 seasons ago, when Liverpool were challenging for the title, for half the season, we didn't have Torres, or Gerrard in fact. Torres may score quite alot, but without the likes of Kuyt playing on the wings, he's nothing. Torres is definitely not the best striker in the world.

@Soviet64 Meireles certainly looks quality buy, remember him lot when he was playing for Porto in Champions League, very tidy player, haven't seen lot of Poulsen since he arrived at Anfield, he was half decent at Juventus, but Premierships lot faster and more physical to Serie A.
