  • Great stuff here! One of the best things about the SP 4449 Holiday Express runs is being able to chase it on your bike!

  • nice ...

Did you video from a moving bike in that one segment? How'd you keep the camera so steady!?

  • Yes, I was one my bike from that one segment and I had my camera on a strap and I actually had one hand on the handle bars and one hand on the camera.

  • Awesome video 5*****

  • Thanks.

  • Another Great Video.

  • Thanks as always.

  • Nice coverage of The Daylight, Chase! I'm glad someone is doing something. Just think we don't even have any operating stream locomotives here the South East! NW #611 and a few others come to mind!

  • I wish we had more down here in the southeast! I live in Tennessee and the only one around here is the TVRR

  • Awesome job chase...i love that whistle

  • Very hard core!

So dude, when you were following the train doing a paceing shot at 1:21 was that like on a bike path or something? What was up with the thing going backwards, did it go backwards one way and then forewards the other? By me the V&T steam train starts off by going backwards for miles and miles then it heads forewards again.

  • Yeah, this is the Springwater Corridor Trail in Portland & Portland is a city which a lot of drivers are bicylists and tons of Bike Lanes all around. It did go backwards and forewards, and doesn't pass at any road crossings.

  • ok. cool

  • Oh yea! This is SWEEEEEET!!!! 5***** and Favorte!

  • I saw this the other day. Very hard core! Reminds me of the V&T the way they ran the thing.

  • Pretty Sweet! Who organizes this?

  • The Oregon Rail Heritage Foundation & The Friends of SP #4449 who have been doing a fund raiser to built a permanant home for that & 2 other locomotives.

  • Very nice. Thanks for the info!

  • Awsome.

  • I want that under my Christmas tree,LOL. Good vid!

  • Hahahahaha!! Such an old thing needs your help by some sort, but I know they are looking for a lot near OMSI in Portland that I think the organization that operates this Locomotive says they are likey to purchase it, but yeah, that be good.

  • We are very close to buying the land. That's step one, step 2 is building a home for the engines.

  • That is good because you know, UP is expanding Brooklyn Yard & they need those 3 steam engines in a better & permanant location, so yeah, i'm glad you are almost there in buying that land across from OMSI and we hope for the best.
